Well they aren't difficult expeditions.. so proper trekking shoes isn't a compulsory requirement.. go for warmth and comfort.. even Nike/Adidas/Fila shoes with rubber sole would be good.. quechua are a great option for light weight.. carry lots of socks.

The Bata power that you recommended I don't think it is a hiking boot as Bata doesn't market it as one on their website they call it as a outdoor adventure boot.
Yes it's not marketed as one, but it's pretty fair for trekking and many trekkers do use it.. At the end, it's the trekker that matters.. not the shoe. The shoe is just an accessory. 😉 I've trekked in paragons too.

Don't take Wildcraft at all.. Quechua NH150 or MH100 are good.. mh100 are low ankle, which I personally prefer, but you may choose as per you convenience.. Keeping your feet warm and dry is important in high altitude.. so carry more socks as well..
I am currently using jungle shoes which are used by army and I am a little bit confused as I see other travellers wearing Decathlon shoes I have no problem in walking or tracking as I had use them in many tricks so should I go for a new one or I should buy like Costa CTR or action trekking shoes
For non snow treks, nothing beats action trekking.. but if you're fine in the jungle boots, why change? Quechua ideally should be used for low altitude Himalayan treks.. they don't really have good grip on wet basalt.. it's the comfort..
Yep.. won't be heavy.. go for it.. and it will matter only for the 1st few treks.. then, your muscle memory kicks in and you won't even think about the weight.. so go for it..
Actually since the merger, they are seen as Campus Trekking Shoes.. not Action Trekking.. but online stock is still very less.. you should be able to find them in local shoe shops.. in Pune, we get them at many local shops..
Is action trekking shoe good for Himalayan hikes especially places like spiti? Lahaul etc also for small treks like two three days one?? What are the other budget options other than Quechua forclaz 500
@@yashkikani9758 yep.. but small treks.. if it's an expedition, better go for completely waterproof shoes.. to avoid getting the cold.. for 3 to 5 day treks in Himalayas, these are just fine..
Hi Pranjal, Yes the shoes are authentic. Salomon is a subsidiary of Amer Sports which has recently started Indian Operations at Delhi with Mr. Ankur Srivastava as the Business Development Head. Till a few months back, Hindustan Army Store used to get the Salomon to India.
1. Too heavy 2. During monsoons there is no grip at all, you can slide on the rocks for your enjoyment. 3. They stink very badly after a long sweaty trek. 4. They get stolen from outside the temple.
@@CaptainParbat aaah those point....and I thought u were questioning the structural integrity of the shoe. Those shoes take a beating and rarely tears apart. Thnx
Ummm you get in Pune.. also, the ones without Ankle Support are absolutely fine.. you need ankle support for long distance walking and country trails... So for Trekking purpose where you feet will face twists n turns, there is no need for ankle support. There is a reason why no sports like football, hockey or any of the racquet sports use ankle support.. :)

I am a regular trekker in Sahyadri range. I had been using action trekking for several years until I found a better option, 'Gold star'. More durable than action trekking (15+ treks, including monsoon treks, still hasn't torn, and I ain't kidding) better grip than action trekking, be it wet rocky patch or high gradient surface with scree, more comfortable than action trekking (at least for first 6-7 treks) and cheapest of them all (300₹). Try for 3-4 different Treks in sahyadri for different seasons. I guarantee that you will fall in love with them and do entire video dedicated to these shoes. If safety is your biggest concern during treks, switch to these shoes, there's no option with such a good grip (maybe, certain types of canvas shoes) even in little higher price range. Only drawback is the authentic ones are really hard to find (fortunately, I know the place where they are available)
Authentic Gold Star? I really had a bad experience with them early in my career.. But I'd love to try them now that an experienced trekker is saying this.. :) Thanks for this info mate ✌️ Where will I get them?
@@CaptainParbat I understand your sarcasm about authentic gold star. Actually the one I have been using is light weight with rubber sole. This one comes under different names like gold star, unistar, Border etc. There are other shoes named as Gold Star which are heavy and come with hard sole. @@CaptainParbat They are usually available with shops who sell cheap footwear. I usually buy them from shops located in Shirwane gaon, Navi Mumbai. I suggested few of my friends to buy these shoes from same place. They all had good experience while trekking.
Thanks Sahisnu.. Well the best shoes for running and travelling (where trekking isn't involved) are Nike or Adidas.. hands down.. For a lower budget, the Bata Power or Puma shoes are good too..
So you'll drive right? Then any shoes which are comfortable.. you don't need trekking shoes for that.. recently I have been Asics shoes for walking and casual wear.... and they are wonderful!
hello captain I'm going a trek to Pin Bhabha pass in the month of August. It is a High Altitude Trek. Can i use the Action Trekking shoes for the same?
Alam Sahani hi you can use Action Trekking for your trek, provided they are not worn and torn like the ones shown in the video and the thumbnail... make sure you carry a lot of socks, thick and thin.. preferably branded.. all the best :)
and remember to take off your shoes during moments of crossing any streams.. as the shoes aren't waterproof.. but there aren't more than 2 such patches.. experience the cold water with your bare feet ;)
Thanks Captain.. i'll remember the sock tip.. but are plenty of socks required as they might get wet nd I might need to change, or is it required to prevent blisters?
Hi Captain.. thanks for the reply and the sock tip.. do i need extra socks because they might get wet and I need change or are they to protect from blisters?
both... the former being more important.. it is also advisable to wear socks while sleeping at night.. so keep a different pair as night socks altogether. And 1 pocket of your rucksack just to keep the used/stinky socks..

Please Suggest A Women Shoes For Kinnaur Kailash trek....I average do 5,6 treks in a year including high snow treks as well mosoon treks and dry regions also but till today's date,Shri Kinnaur Kailash will be my highest altitude till now,I am thinking about Wildcraft Women's Gabroo or Columbia shoes, plese suggest which would be best for me?????
Quechua ideally should be used for low altitude Himalayan treks.. they don't really have good grip on wet basalt.. it's the comfort..
are action shoes available or not?
Nope.. company stopped production since year
Action trekking shoes vs CTR which one do you recommend???? Long and short treks alike. I like them both.
Action gets an extra point for being light in weight...
@@CaptainParbat Will it matter much ???
Well yes, if you trek a lot..
@@CaptainParbat well i dont trek that much... I like the shoes very much... It won't be that heavy right???
Yep.. won't be heavy.. go for it.. and it will matter only for the 1st few treks.. then, your muscle memory kicks in and you won't even think about the weight.. so go for it..
Bro I cannot find these actions online. I would really appreciate if you can help me giving me the link to it.
Actually since the merger, they are seen as Campus Trekking Shoes.. not Action Trekking.. but online stock is still very less.. you should be able to find them in local shoe shops.. in Pune, we get them at many local shops..
captain ..... how is unistar jungle boots for trekking please review
They are just okay.. grip is fine.. no comfort, no durability.. action or CTR are better
What is a model of action trekking shoes
There is just one model... With and without Ankle Support... Without Ankle Support are more recommended... :)
Is action trekking shoe good for Himalayan hikes especially places like spiti? Lahaul etc also for small treks like two three days one?? What are the other budget options other than Quechua forclaz 500
Action trekking are great for small himalayan treks... In the segment of 3k to 6k, nothing really beats the Forclaz 500

hey brother where to buy action trekking ? not availbe online
My group will b happy the way u praised the action trekker shoes😂
Hey,can we use this one for a snow trek?
In January
@@yashkikani9758 yep.. but small treks.. if it's an expedition, better go for completely waterproof shoes.. to avoid getting the cold.. for 3 to 5 day treks in Himalayas, these are just fine..
From where I can purchase the action trekking shoe..any link or address
Action Trekking have been discontinued now since last year.. You can buy CTR for an almost similar experience..
How come the salomon shoe has a “made in India” tag? Is it authentic?
Hi Pranjal, Yes the shoes are authentic. Salomon is a subsidiary of Amer Sports which has recently started Indian Operations at Delhi with Mr. Ankur Srivastava as the Business Development Head. Till a few months back, Hindustan Army Store used to get the Salomon to India.
Wats ur beef with Woodland ?
1. Too heavy
Thnx
No doubt! I still own my pair of woodlands bought in 2014.. and they are still rough and tuff.. but for Trekking? A Big NO...
Is the action trekking anklet one good? And where from i get this, out of stock everywhere :(
Ummm you get in Pune.. also, the ones without Ankle Support are absolutely fine.. you need ankle support for long distance walking and country trails... So for Trekking purpose where you feet will face twists n turns, there is no need for ankle support. There is a reason why no sports like football, hockey or any of the racquet sports use ankle support.. :)
@@CaptainParbat Hello Captain, i stay in PUNE , Could you please lemme know where i can get action trekking shoes? i am looking for the trekking shoes which are suitable for all seasons like rainy , sunny or snow , Could you please Suggest . Thank You.
@@rcsongs4all Action Trekking will be best. But they are not waterproof..
For long Himalayan treks with multiple days in snow, Quechua will serve better as legs need to be warm.
@@CaptainParbat thanks alot for your reply dude . I got action shoes. And yes if I go for multiple days in snow, I will buy them accordingly
Thank you again 😊..
Where I get this shoes
Make video on most treeking shoes sold by decathlon and difference between hiking and trekking shoes
I got the ctr shoes but they kinda have little holes in the sole it might just be a manufacturing defect , thinking returning them not sure if they will hold in a 8 day Himalayan trek . Should I go with them or buy quencha or something. My budget is around 3 to 3.5k
Of only 2 or max 3 days of snow trekking is involved, then ctr should be fine.. as these are not waterproof at all .. and we don't want your feet to be cold all the time. Carry lots of socks :)
Why did you reject Woodland shoes ?
1. Too heavy
2. During monsoons there is no grip at all, you can slide on the rocks for your enjoyment.
3. They stink very badly after a long sweaty trek.
4. They get stolen from outside the temple.

I've woodland though😂
Woodland proplanet is a Marvellous 👌and not bad as per your review
Nope, they're bad for trekking too. I have used them. I'm sure you'll change your opinion after using Lowa or Action 😀

Thanks for this info mate ✌️
Where will I get them?
@@CaptainParbat I understand your sarcasm about authentic gold star. Actually the one I have been using is light weight with rubber sole. This one comes under different names like gold star, unistar, Border etc. There are other shoes named as Gold Star which are heavy and come with hard sole. This particular one I think is not authentic and not useful for treks.
Maybe man.. can you tell me where I'll get them? I'll sure give it a try..:)
@@CaptainParbat They are usually available with shops who sell cheap footwear. I usually buy them from shops located in Shirwane gaon, Navi Mumbai. I suggested few of my friends to buy these shoes from same place. They all had good experience while trekking.
@@CaptainParbat By the way, I liked the video. I will definitely try one of the recommended shoes here, for Himalayan trek.
So true for the Wildcraft shoes.
I got their flagship Amphibia trekking shoes.
The sole got seperated only after one hike.

Hiii, nice video and good information. Can you please tell me which shoe is best for running and also travelling?
Thanks Sahisnu..
Well the best shoes for running and travelling (where trekking isn't involved) are Nike or Adidas.. hands down..
For a lower budget, the Bata Power or Puma shoes are good too..
Suggest me a shoe..I'm going for world tour .confused about a shoe..bdw I'm going by road
Wow that's awesome! But when? How are you traveling?
@@CaptainParbat not sure sir.waiting for this corona virus to end.safety first. im going by road.
So you'll drive right? Then any shoes which are comfortable.. you don't need trekking shoes for that.. recently I have been Asics shoes for walking and casual wear.... and they are wonderful!
Also, let me know me if you need company 😃
I am planning for Hampta Pass trek .. I wud go for Action shoe as per ur recommendation

Hi
Thanks for video, it is very informative.
Planning to go for winter snow trek kedarkantha.. In budget range which shoe will be good.?
Quechua are good.. you can also do the kedarnath in Action Trekking, but Quechua are more comfortable.
What about quechua sh100 warm shoe??
hello captain
I'm going a trek to Pin Bhabha pass in the month of August.
