It's 3 AM and I can't sleep. Had watched "American Splendor" the other day (for the Nth time) because I had seen Harvey's FIRST appearance on Letterman. I thought, "What a lunatic," just another fun joke of a human Letterman would show us on "Latenight." Little did I know that as the years passed that this joke would end up being a different kind of genius whose life would cause me to shed a tear on his passing. Who knew that one could become so attached to just a very ordinary "lunatic." Thank you very much for your film; now I can go back to sleep.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that. I really enjoy tracking down the locations, it’s always been a fun adventure for me to try and locate them and see them for myself. I also enjoy sharing them with people who appreciate seeing them on here too. Thanks for the kind words!

Very cool!! Nice job finding all of these filming locations...WOW!! How did you find all of these locations?
We’re from Cleveland originally and now live in Minnesota since 2009. It was so nice to see our hometown from this vantage point.
Question: where/what was the pedestrian bridge that he walked across the highway? What highway was it?
That was SO touching that you visited his resting place in Lakeview Cemetery and shared it with us in this video Thank you‼️❤️
    Thanks for your response!

Thank you. The pedestrian bridge runs over I-90 west of Cleveland. I had to do a lot of looking and digging for the locations, but I enjoy that part of making these videos. It’s sort of like a scavenger hunt for me. Sometimes simply finding the locations is more fun than showing them.

@@ComeSeeWithMe Yeah I can imagine finding them is a real thrill--double, triple checking, even more, looking from different angles...then that moment you realize "THIS is it, THIS is the location"!! Weeeeeeee!!

Cool movie that really gave me a better introduction to Harvey Pekar. Paul Giamatti was, as usual, terrific. Great job tracking down the locations. I always appreciate your attention to detail.
I was wondering something, however. When you are filming in a public place with other people around, like inside of Shay’s for instance, do you let people there know in advance or do you just bust out your camera and do your thing? I’d be totally self-conscious, which is why I ask. Ever had anyone freak out and ask why you’re filming them?

I agree, I love Paul Giamatti. He was good in this movie and I especially loved him in Sideways. He really cracked me up in that one. As for the videos inside the restaurants, I asked management before filming and told them what I wanted to do for the movie location. In most places that I film a movie filmed inside, they understand and are often helpful and accommodating. They were both very accommodating for these as well. In fact, at the Gene’s Place location, the manager walked me around and told me some info about filming that day (he was there). I try to keep the kind of videos parts you’re asking about short though, as I’m aware there are other people who briefly appear in them and it may not be their cup of tea. I’d much rather film empty places when it comes to that, but that isn’t always available. However, what I often have happen though is, people often wonder what I’m filming, and when I tell them, they find it pretty cool because they had no idea. They usually end up taking some pictures themselves.
