In March 1993, Lee's case was reaired; as a result, an anonymous tipster contacted the telecenter. She identified Lee's killer as Franklin Legrand Perkins. The tipster had remembered a story her ex-boyfriend had told her of Perkins boasting about how he killed a biker in Los Angeles. Lee's friends were shown a photo line-up and identified Perkins as the assailant. He was arrested in Moultrie, Georgia on July 30, just a few days before he was scheduled to be paroled from prison. At the time, he was serving a five-year sentence for possession of a firearm by a felon. He was returned to Los Angeles to face charges. He was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. He is still in prison in California at the age of 63.
Lee Selwyn seemed like a cool guy being connected to the 80s rock scene, and the fact he was such a peaceful guy who didn't even punch the psycho driver's mirror out makes it even sadder.

@@lyndafayesmusic he chose to be friends with these maniac-antagonizers... To me it's just a sad story. You can always point the finger of who really caused the outcome. But the only real problem, and rightfully convicted was the maniac in the car. He started the trouble by swervving, n nearly hitting the one 'antagonizer biker'. Then the maniac at the stoplight after getting yelled at, he spits at the same biker. This is when that biker snaps and gets physical. Spitting in someones face is Soo disrespectful. Asking for violence. Just sad that the maniac, was a true maniac, and either didn't care which biker he ran down, or thought that he was chasing the biker who he had the altercation with

The first time I remember seeing that sketch as an adult, I had a few drinks a couple hours before and was going to crash at my friend's house and we just could not with that sketch. And then they showed his real face! Oh we were done.
When the story first aired, several viewers called claiming that a man living in their Topeka, Kansas neighborhood named Elmer Jackson might have been Rogest. The viewers noted that Jackson did not have any dentures and had a scar on his body that matched Rogest's. Unfortunately, he disappeared before police could question him. Within days, Rogest's son Lynn flew to Topeka to aid police in the search. They have since learned that he lived in Topeka for about a year after a truck driver brought him there. He had apparently worked several jobs, including as a brick layer. Lynn and the police canvassed the neighborhood where Rogest apparently lived, but they were unsuccessful. Rogest was declared legally dead in 1995. Sadly, he has never been found. Rogest's siblings Theresa, Marguerite, Clarence, Curtis, and Rowland have since passed away. In Rowland's obituary, Rogest was listed as having pre-deceased him.
So sorry for Michael Rosenblums family and mother Barbara, but she did not cause that. He was an adult, he was making big mistakes he would have kept on using. I work with substance abuse patients, some of the most wonderful people I ever met, but they have to be ready to get better and nothing will change that
@@clickchick6861 It has nothing to do with the handling of the case. The person is commenting on the victim's mother's comment in the video that she feels guilty for using the tough love approach with her son right before he went missing.
@@erickanew I think most likely Michael was going to buy drugs for a fix when he left in his girlfriend's car, and instead he got busted by the Baldwin police trying to by drugs to get a fix. He likely resisted arrest due to his addictive and aggressive state, the arrest got out of hand and they wound up killing him and covered it up. I figure the police viewed the situation with the mindset why should officers lose their careers and reputations just because some punk junkie resisted arrest? Not saying its right, but if I had to take a guess that's probably what happened. Their actions clearly indicate they were hiding something. It was just an unfortunate thing all around, but ultimately it was set into motion by Michael Rosenblum's bad decisions. He'd likely be alive if he had gotten help like he should have. That doesn't make it right what the police did if that is what happened. Its just an unfortunate reality that people's poor decisions sometimes lead to their own demise even if they don't deserve to die. And these sorts of cover ups sadly happen all the time in law enforcement. I don't think they just randomly arrested and decided to kill Michael for the hell of it, it was more likely just a poorly handled arrest that got out of hand and they didn't feel they should be held accountable.
I remember watching this program when I was about 8 or 9 years old , my primary language was Spanish and I watch and could understand everything. I just found out about the name.
Yep, fer sher. What really fries my bacon, though, is how dat a**h**e only hadda serve a tenth of his sentence...??? Steven Cox was again released from prison in December 2013." Zheeeee-yeeesh... sounds like da classic "revolving door or incarceration", eh???

@@crystaluniverse1860 After this case aired, several physicians familiar with MMA called the telecenter in hopes of helping Patricia in her appeal. Her attorneys petitioned the court for a new trial and on July 30, 1991, she was granted a new trial and released from prison. On September 20, 1991, a press conference was held in St. Louis. Dr. Piero Rinaldo, a geneticist from Yale University, stated that independent serum tests confirmed that Ryan had definitely died of MMA. The prosecutor then dropped all of the charges against Patricia. During the press conference, the Stallings were told that custody of D.J. would be returned to them. In October 1991, he finally came home to them. The Stallings later sued the hospital and labs that incorrectly diagnosed Ryan with ethyl glycol poisoning. In 1993, they settled a lawsuit in which they were awarded several million dollars. They later divorced. Tragically, in September 2013, D.J. passed away at the age of 23.
The Rosenbloom case is tragic, sad and infuriating. It also is a testament to the father's bravery and dogged persistence to get answers. That resolve probably accounts for the city in relenting to following the advice of a psychic who, by the way, can fan his or her fingers at those who doubt their ability.
Was Michael arrested and died in jail somehow? and his body thrown down that hill? Was there another arresting officer? Complicit? This would have had to occur before Lombardi had the car towed. Something really smells fishy as hell about the whole thing.
Correct me if I am wrong but several years ago I read where Michael Rosenblum was believed to have been killed by a drug dealer that later died in prison. This was just on an online blog years ago. I can no longer find it so I don't know how accurate the story is.

As far as I am concerned his friend got him killed. Do not confront someone like that. Leave it alone. Poor Lee.. Died for something he did not even do.
As easy as it is to say that, sometimes not reacting is just as bad. People like the driver can get just as mad when you ignore them. There's a tragic case in Britain of a punk couple in the 90s who were attacked and tried to ignore the boys doing it, and it resulted in the girl being beaten to death and the boy left with brain damage. Unfortunately nasty people will take any excuse to be aggressive.
@@DreameGirl6000😮Wow. This is true. This is very, very true. I thought Lee's friend was responsible for having gotten Lee killed at first, but it's obvious that the driver/murderer would have plainly just done it anyway out of spite and vengeance. Goodness, the Michael Rosenblum case is nuts. It sure seems that the Chief did have "Friends" help get his job back. The guy who claimed they only reinstated him based on facts was probably one of his "Friends". Why in the world would his former clerk want to throw himself into this craziness by making up his story?
One of the better segments in the early years of the show, definitely in terms of production value. That actor portraying Michael had the definition of a Pittsburgh accent too.
In March 1989, sixty-five-year-old Newton Alfred Winn, a civil attorney in St. Petersburg, Florida, was arrested and charged with Annie's kidnapping. He was the owner of a Florida-based School Pictures franchise and was one of the twelve names listed on the ransom note and among the ones that sent their money back to Robert. About four years before Annie's abduction, he had been sued by the company for over $153,000. A month before the kidnapping, Winn had purchased a van that matched the description of the one Annie's neighbors saw around her house the day she was kidnapped. The descriptions of the van's driver also matched his appearance. Two witnesses had also identified Winn as a man they had seen in a van in front of the Hearin home in the weeks prior to the abduction. Authorities also learned that Winn had asked his paralegal to help him fabricate an alibi for the day of the kidnapping. A woman contacted the FBI and told them that Winn had promised her $500 to travel from Florida to Atlanta, Georgia, and mail a letter for him; this occurred sixteen days after the kidnapping. He handed her a manila envelope; inside was the second letter, wrapped in a gray linen napkin. Winn instructed her not to look at or touch the letter, but when she deposited the letter she had to ease the napkin off. That is when she observed the writing on the letter. Later, she identified the letter as the one that Robert had received from his wife. Though he maintained his innocence throughout, Winn was convicted of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, extortion, and perjury in 1990. He was sentenced to nineteen years and seven months and was released from prison in April 2006. He died in August 2012. No one has ever been formally charged with the actual kidnapping of Annie nor has she ever been found. In 1990, Robert died of a heart attack, and a year after, Annie was declared legally dead.
Lee didn’t deserve to lose his life. He was an innocent bystander. His friend should have just left well enough alone and not kept going with that nut driver.
Chances are that the driver would have been aggressive no matter what. Lee was in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong people. Feel so bad for his mother.
Gosh I wonder what happened to Michael Rosenblum, very mysterious case. How did he die? And why such lies and questionable behavior from the authorities? Beyond strange. 😕
michael's family had him legally declared dead in 1990. michael's father ended up passing away in 2008. i do believe that the baldwin police department had something to do with his death and aldo gaburri was either behind it or knew about it....so i agree with michael's family...cover up all the way.
Died in custody. This will never ever get out. They arrested him and he either died due to being roughed up by the police or after he was in jail by an inmate. Either way I'm sorry but no one will ever know the truth.

I believe Micheal rosenbloom was murdered by a dirty cop his body thrown over the cliff and it was covered up period I hope and pray this case is finally solved very very soon his family desperately needs answers and justice as to what happened to michael
I came to a similar conclusion by reading between the lines. I believe the officer that was reported as finding Michael’s car actually pulled over and arrested Michael, who may have resisted due to his erratic behavior and he died in custody due misconduct of that arresting officer. The police chief chose to also use the name of that officer on the letter to his girlfriend. The car went from drivable to having flat tires with bent rims after it was eventually recovered from the impound lot, the car may have been damaged in police custody to give the appearance it was neglected/abandoned. They knew the car was being searched for but willfully ignored that it was in their impound lot. The officer is now deceased and the actual narrative is lost. The officer was corrupt, well connected or a friend to the chief or his death in their custody was so criminally negligent the chief stepped in directly to cover it up. The anonymous calls to his father could’ve been done under duress by that officer on the down low to give him some sort of basic closure without leaking the truth. The chief may have been applying leverage (blackmail) to stop him from telling the truth, the fact he tried anyway plus the later letter as a breadcrumb gives me a strong feeling that officer want the truth be known, but was afraid to expose the chief and/or corruption in the Baldwin government police department. The chief would need to coerce others in the department to obstruct the PA AG investigation and then exert the same influence on the CC commission to be reinstated, members of the commission could’ve been involved in the same conspiracy. They dumped his body after the death making sure there would be no significant or physical or evidence if found. The body could’ve been dispersed by animals over time or separated, that was likely deliberate. Seems like the tip of the iceberg of systemic, major league corruption of a police deferment or its involvement with organized crime (the body fragments seem like the body was dumped mafia style). There is a major untold true crime story here with major potential political implications here that has never been told. What strikes me is that there was enough of a circumstantial case get the AG to open an investigation. That being obstructed tells me that pretty big league government corruption was involved to suppres it, the chief had very powerful friends in high places. The FBI needed to get involved due to the massive scope and agencies being involved at a a state level. A single dirty cop couldn’t do it alone.
It's obvious that his family loved him, cared for him, and supported him, always. The heartbreak in his mother's voice is terrible. No one is to blame, but the person who committed the crime.
Quite the assumptions there. It could just be his erratic behavior and driving off leaving his girlfriend was a sign of feeling suicidal. He might have pulled his car over and walked down the ditch into the woods to kill himself. The police chief could have been retroactively creating a letter because he didn't want his department looking bad for their incompetence in not reporting they had the car impounded. If that other officer was responsible for murdering him then why would he not sign the backdated letter to cover it up?
Unless this was before 1988 if Cox served only two years of a 20 year sentence then he was prosecuted by the state, not the federal government. The federal justice system no longer allows for early release/parole. You have to serve the full sentence to within a month. The best you can do is to serve the last 6-12 months of your sentence in a halfway house. If you escape/run away at any point it is an automatic five year sentence added on to your original sentence.
Lee Selwyn’s story was the one I remembered most from this show when it first aired. To see it again all these years later with an update that his killer was caught is very satisfying. The blonde biker is very unreliable. He says he punched out the guys window because he thought he was reaching for a gun, but no gun was ever seen and no shots were fired. I think he escalated the situation more than he’s saying.
Lee can ultimately thank his buddy Rob for getting him killed. Sometimes you have to have the cooler head. Sometimes someone is going to cut you off.....it's going to happen. Going 'deep end' violence and aggression while breaking someone's mirror or windshield is not a proper response....of course neither is running someone off of the road. The escalation of road rage from Rob got Lee killed.

Ok I know that composite sketch of Lee Selwyn’s killer isn’t exactly high quality, but it does actually look like him
Unless this was before 1988 if Cox served only two years of a 20 year sentence then he was prosecuted by the state, not the federal government.
That goon that killed him was right out of central casting for a guy with anger management issues. P.s. I noticed the police putting him in the back of a Chevy Lumina sedan lol…I used to own one for a few years…a forgettable car.

(Causing Lee, to become the innocent victim mostly and apparently, by accident ?) Psychiatrist deal with ugly, maniac in appearance patients allot-They don't become "chased and sought after in attempts to kill!" How does Linda, the mother "feel" about that fact that ONE ANTAGONIZED BIKER-friend, took the time to even "approach" an "obviously-crazed-maniac ?" The whole "story" has a great big picture that might have remained that of a "merely ugly crazed / possibly even drunk?) driver!Again---Why am I the only one asking this ? Is it because I'm the mother of a police sergeant ? Very disconcerting video -And I have had friends whom were also "bikers" by shear nature! (btw I am a musician AND worked with allot of those "LA " Rockers!) Just asking!
@@lyndafayesmusic... lol don't mind this idiot, it's just a troll...
@Shamen... lol still talking to yoursef from other accts. dumb*ss? 😆😂😭 😘 🙄
This goes to show what a show managing its budget well can do
Lee's mother looks like Donna Summer's !!!😋
She sure does!
You're an idiot.
@@reneedennis2011 You too.
Man, what a mess that Rosenblum case was.
Yup. The authorities didn't just drop the ball, they didn't even play the game! It's so sad how bad the police action was in his case.
So, did they actually pay out the reward for information money raised by the Rock concert to the person who called in and gave them Lee Selwyn's killer?
🎶Black leather jacket, Black leather jacket, LOOK OUT!🎵
I wish this was still on cable
