I had the same exact experience in line. Everyone talking about how they are going to scalp these amazing things. I was trying to talk about the games with people in line, but it was obvious they were bullshitting their way through the conversation and were just trying to be nice. The SNES classic is a god send, these games are timeless. It was totally worth waiting 5 hours in line.
My local Best Buy literally had about 100 in stock and was selling only one to each person. Nobody even had to run to the register or anything once the doors opened. It was very refreshing, all thanks to the way Best Buy handled it.
Potions & Food Dealer Same with my local Target. They had 53 units and everything was done professionally so nobody had to run to the counters to get one either.
I had lost all respect for best buy and only went there for mine out of pure randomness. I absolutely enjoyed how respectable and professional everything went. Hopefully the next supply of nes classics goes as smoothly as I missed out on that completely.
Chrono Trigger is the most glaring omission. That game deserves every last bit of praise it gets. If you haven't played it, you're missing out on something amazing. I also don't understand why the other two games in the Donkey Kong Country trilogy were excluded. They were better than their predecessor in nearly every way, ranking among some of the best 2D platformers ever made.
It's frustrating to hear that people line up for these just to resell them. I've been playing games all my life and love them, so I think it's sad that people aren't hype to experience all these great games or buy them for their kids so they can experience them.
I had the same experience when I was in line as well; everyone talking about how they were going to resell them rather than play them. Very frustrating.
True, but actually Porsche did better: they manufactured a "last of its kind" MT 911, which scalpers bought it to make money, but later they changed their minds and produced another MT, crashing the scalped 911s value. And the best: when the scalpers complained to Porsche about their money loss, he told them off saying "Our cars are meant to be driven. Porsche is an automaker not a hedge fund."
Hermann Goering Not everywhere it doesn't. I believe the US does, yeah? But here in UK and other regions you just get the cable. I actually power mine off my TV USB socket.
Heh thats why I went and bought a new 2ds xl today I rather use the digital copy of the snes titles on it. Don't get me wrong I like that snes console alot but the limited amount games on it and you can't add on any without modding it ? O_o I rather keep my 99.00 dollars
The reason Turtles In Time isn't included is because KONAMI doesn't own the TMNT license anymore which makes it impossible for Nintendo to license that game from them. And I still think it's a crime that Zombies Ate My Neighbors wasn't included on the SNES Classic Edition!
The DS version is the best one. Load times of the snes and cinematics of the playstation, Plus bonus dungeons and an extra ending. That being said, I would still want it on the snes classic.
I got lucky on getting mine, got to best buy just as they were opening and they were handing out tickets to people as they walked in that wanted one, I was 45th in line and it looked like they had a lot more to go.
Theg Should have made a working cartridge slot with an SD Card Reader, released a Compilation cartridge occasionally with several games loaded on an SD Card, they could have done so much more with the Mini Consoles, imagine a little Mini Cartridge with some games loaded on them!
It would be cool if SEGA could release an official little classic console like this one. I love the SNES, mine is still working, and I just bought the SNES classic, but I never played SEGA so much so it would be nice to have a mini official version. Even it would be very funny if Nintendo could help them to do this possible.....
They did. SEGA doesn't make hardware anymore, so they licensed it out to a company called ATGames. It comes with 80 games, but that is kind of deceptive. Of those 80 games, only 40 of them are games that were actually released for the SEGA Genesis. The other 40 games are games that were made specifically to be bundled with this console. Most of the non-Genesis games are really simple puzzle games like you would have found on one of those 100+ PC Games CDs from the late '90s. Of the 40 Genesis games, the title selection is..........questionable. It has most of the Sonic games (Sonic 3 is not included for some reason). It has the Ecco series. Vectorman. A lot of games that I was not familiar with. Here is the neat thing, though. It plays Genesis cartridges. So it is basically a functioning SEGA Genesis console with 80 games built into it. One thing to note, though. A lot of people have complained that the sound quality is poor compared to an actual Genesis. I didn't notice myself, but I am playing on an old CRT TV so maybe that is why. Speaking of that, it only has composite output. No HDMI. So if you are tying to connect it to a more modern TV, that could be a problem. I only own a CRT, so it was never an issue for me.
thank you for addressing this. when i was in oregon, 4 elderly women in front of me picked up the last 4 (of 5) nes mini's (last year). as they were leaving, one of them asked "what's this?"
When I was standing in line, the crowd I was with was all talking about what games they wanted to play the most and such. It was actually a nice experience
Same here, I was in a line of about 15 people at an Alabama walmart. Everyone was talking about their favorite games and the new stuff coming to Switch.
Mordecai Pants I bought mine online because I felt if I saw a scalper in front of me , it punch him.. wish I could have shared a similar experience.. instead I'm waiting for shipping.. .oh well

I was lucky enough to get one of these due to awesome friends waiting in line and picking an extra for me at face value. Most impressed with the controllers. They have almost a textured, matte grainy feel to them and as soon as I picked one up I remembered the original had the same feel. It's an awesome product. Just wish they were more available.

I went to a Target in suburban Chicago, we had 40 people in line and 80 SNES Classics at the store. Everyone there was talking about how they wanted it for them self or planned to give it as a gift. We had just one scalper (we could find) in the crowd. It was far better than the NES Classic experience. Honestly, seeing how many there were at this store (we heard the other closest Target had 60 units), the scalpers aren't going to be able to turn a huge profit on these. It's way better this time around.
I was number six in line at a Target in Paso Robles CA, and for a few hours it was just us six guys, old school gamers and had some great gaming conversations. At about an hour until opening, the scalpers start coming in. I'm glad I got a great experience waiting for this fantastic console
Also at the Best Buy that I waited at there were over 75 units available, much better than the small amounts of NES Classics that were shipped out. Although admittedly scalpers were still everywhere. Sad to just hear people wanting to flip their purchase.
Forget those classic minis and the ridiculous prices... Raspberry Pi 3 is just $60. Plus you can put all the games you want, all the emulators you want (arcade, old systems from the 70s and 80s, etc.).
pizzamon 79 It's called a PSP/Vita (after a hack that takes 5 mins). Further, both can emulate NES as good as NES Mini and about 90% of SNES games as good as SNES Mini.
Metal Warriors was probably my favorite SNES game. The multiplayer was fun as hell. One of my favorite things was to use Ballista's charged shot to shoot all the way across the level and try to hit the other person. If I got lucky and hit them while they were out of the robot suit, it was a hilarious one-hit kill. Favorite fighting game was Killer Instinct because of the insane combos (although Mortal Combat 2 was really, really good). Favorite racing game was probably Rock N Roll Racing. All three of these really shine in multiplayer. Had some of my most fun times as a kid playing all four of these games with friends.
I just waited a year to buy it... no freaking way I was going to pay a scalper 200% markup. I got it to play my beloved childhood games which are still near and dear to my heart
Nintendo KNOWS what they are doing and are purposely creating a shortage to create buzz and news stories and stuff like that, which is WHY I am so upset with the company! They KNOW that there is a demand and they KNOW they have created a shortage....
It would be great if Terranigma was on this console, it was never been released in North America but such a great game. So this was a great chance to bring it to the table, to bad its missing.
girlsdrinkfeck my shitty SNES still works like it was brand new. I just played it the other day after I shot my Glocks and my AR. Good luck trying to do that. The yellowing doesn't bother me.
holy shit, I actually have an authentic Wild Guns cartridge, I didn't know it is worth so much. I dug up my old SNES with games from my parents' basement a week ago, nostalgia kicked in and I have stumbled upon your video.
I fucking hate scalpers. If only Nintendo would produce enough of them so that scalpers would lose money because they end up being available everywhere.
@@AveMcree That's probably nintendo's thinking. But there is something to be said about what a good remaster All -Stars was for the NES games, so it is a slight shame it's not on there.
24:42 Mike & Ryan in 2017: Most likely we'll gonna be looking at the N64 Classic next year Me in 2019: well at least there are plenty of Playstation Classics and Sega Genesis Minis...
TBH, I never noticed a difference between the controllers of the real SNES vs The Classic. The shell feels a bit stiffer on The Classic. My SNES was a later model packaged with Killer Instinct, so that's what I'm most familiar with.
Yeah it's a shitty situation for the ground level employees. Nintendo decides to try to fuck people and the employees who have to deal with people who are pissed about being fucked aren't even their employees.
It's your prerogative to get upset as an employee, they can scream and be impossible all they want, I preordered one, why couldn't they? I told them it was available.
They could have easily put every SNES ROM on here affordably. They just don't own the rights to many of those games now, and putting every game they could on it would make it just too good of a deal. How else are they going to incentivize you to buy them again, and again?
Slam Robot658 I got so lucky with mine there was 11 in GameStop and I was number 10 and I felt bad for people who actually wanted it all other people that got it were scalpers
It's been 3 years and I finally got ahold of both FC mini and SFC mini. I have a fairly huge collection of original cartridges for various systems but still prefer using raspberry pi above anything else. Nowadays you can conveniently build a capable mini emulation console which has even more features than the official one. Maybe I got spoiled by emulation scene and I got turned off by those scalpers at the time of its release. Hacking these devices is essential.
I don't know where you guys are going to get the SNES Classic because I went to Best Buy and there were about 60 units in stock. Everyone in line with me was discussing how great of a collection the SNES Classic had and how we couldn't wait to get back home and play it. Didn't hear one person bring up reselling or scalping. Guess I'm just lucky with where I live
I think they just live in a crappy place. Most people buying these wanted to play them. My target had 60ish the nearby gamestops had like 20 my friend said. walmart had like 20. there were a ton out there to buy,

Mario All-Stars would have been an A+ addition.

It's called a PSP/Vita (after a hack that takes 5 mins).
Further, both can emulate NES as good as NES Mini and about 90% of SNES games as good as SNES Mini.
I dont think the games r very good emuated as they are 3D
Sony has spent to much on their online stores. They would release the games there before. That and their Playstation now service.
adj789 Lucky bastard I have every PlayStation except that variant
I got up at midnight and tried until 4 am to get one. And I had no luck. I walked into target and walked out with one. I'm not selling mine.
Exercise self control and don't buy from scalpers. Instead download an emulator!
But I also have a modded version of the snes mini with more games that I payed way to much for so I can't talk.
He's right, don't buy from me
I wish Nintendo would of release Zombies Ate My Neighbors on this system! But I am still happy that I pick one up! 😊
Jonathon North that was such an underrated game!
Three years later you're getting it on the Switch.
I hacked my NES classic and now I have NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis game on it. Lots of them!
I love Ryan. Dude, gives no fcks how he looks on camera
Fuck me guys. U both look ready for Halloween
Lee Ferguson Dedication to the craft. Takes guts kid
This made me lol
OB1 excellent!
Hey guys I got my SuperNES Classic Edition this passed Monday and I tell ya, I am glad I went in the morning cause it was the last one!!!
yea me 2 one customer got 2 and i bought the other lol
1995 isn’t pre Internet but the Internet hadn’t been around very long They even came out with a movie in 1995 starring Sandra Bullock called The Net
I feel like 95 was really the year for pcs
Stores should limit to one per person.
Agreed
I think many stores began doing that.
there are usb Adapters to connect original controllers
Very well done guys. Answered all my questions, and things I didn't even think of.
It would be great if Terranigma was on this console, it was never been released in North America but such a great game. So this was a great chance to bring it to the table, to bad its missing.
rvdv86 terranigma is depressing imo
These should come with half the console "yellowed" for extra authenticity : )
Mike lol. My original has that.
pal snes dosnt yellow ,only the shitty yank version
Enjoy your pristine slow running 50HZ snes. Our consoles may be yellow, but they still run and they run 10HZ faster.
girlsdrinkfeck my shitty SNES still works like it was brand new. I just played it the other day after I shot my Glocks and my AR. Good luck trying to do that. The yellowing doesn't bother me.
snes never break ,but i prefer to emulate old consoles so they are upscaled to HD ,standard snes would look shit on my hd projector
holy shit, I actually have an authentic Wild Guns cartridge, I didn't know it is worth so much. I dug up my old SNES with games from my parents' basement a week ago, nostalgia kicked in and I have stumbled upon your video.
Still think the Donkey Kong trilogy should have been included.
Collin Adams same with Kirby's Dreamland 3, shit's expensive
Inferno Hell yeah
What leads you guys to believe the N64 will have more games than the SNES? If anything, I'd bet that has less, probably around 15 games on it...
I am gonna get that . I know I'm late to the party but this is a must !! Thanks so much !! ☺😄
I am stoked I was able to get my hands on one! Though I do wish they had added Chrono Trigger. One of my all time favs as a kid!
That's it's main flaw is no Chrono trigger aka best game on snes
Hi, James and you have almost 1,200,000,000 amazing worldwide views!!
Ryan looks strung out....like he just murdered someone and hid the body...
Jeromebrown Onthemainstage how do you think they got the classic lol..
That's what it takes to get a Nintendo product now days. Beats buying from the POS scalps though.
He needs a good lawyer and preferably a jury who also has failed to get the snes classics.
Jeromebrown Onthemainstage Classic Ryan..
hehehehe
I fucking hate scalpers. If only Nintendo would produce enough of them so that scalpers would lose money because they end up being available everywhere.
They put such an awesome selection of titles on this little system. I’ve wanted one since it came out.
Sadly they did not include Super Mario All-Stars.
Juzimaster damn
nes classic dude
@@AveMcree That's probably nintendo's thinking. But there is something to be said about what a good remaster All -Stars was for the NES games, so it is a slight shame it's not on there.
last time i checked all you need for an RPi to use true to life SNES controllers is a SNES to USB adapter
they control like shit
Mine seems to work perfectly fine original NES/SNES controller and a basic adapter, no input lag, no weird button mapping.
unless you are thinking i was talking about the full on USB controllers instead of the adapters

Mike & Ryan in 2017: Most likely we'll gonna be looking at the N64 Classic next year
Me in 2019: well at least there are plenty of Playstation Classics and Sega Genesis Minis...
I was lucky enough to get the nes mini for my birthday
Happy belated birthday! ;p
Swung by my local Walmart, this morning and got the last one.
Randomark3087
Why?
Nelson4207 because it's cool I suppose
I love that it comes with two controllers. I played the hell out of Super Street Fighter 2 with family and friends growing up.
TBH, I never noticed a difference between the controllers of the real SNES vs The Classic. The shell feels a bit stiffer on The Classic. My SNES was a later model packaged with Killer Instinct, so that's what I'm most familiar with.
Jake Werkmeister your original is probably just has been used more that’s why
No Demon’s Crest in this Classic machine. They’re missing out on the greatest SNES game. Like damn!
ChouMakaimura * Chrono Trigger.
Thank you for this video. I’m looking for this, this year!
Walmart associate chiming in here. We only got 12.
Yeah it's a shitty situation for the ground level employees. Nintendo decides to try to fuck people and the employees who have to deal with people who are pissed about being fucked aren't even their employees.
mine had 20, and the line to wait started at 7 p.m.. I'm not waiting 5 hours at Wal-Mart for anything
My Walmart had 30 but if he asked me that number was still too low.
It's your prerogative to get upset as an employee, they can scream and be impossible all they want, I preordered one, why couldn't they? I told them it was available.
Another Walmart associate (from central Michigan). We got 20+
There could have been a few more games especially with the amount of rpgs there were. Maybe some like Lufia 2 or Illusion of Gaia.
You can just add them since the SNES Classic has already been hacked.
They could have easily put every SNES ROM on here affordably. They just don't own the rights to many of those games now, and putting every game they could on it would make it just too good of a deal. How else are they going to incentivize you to buy them again, and again?
Illusion of Gaia is my favorite SNES game, along with Chrono Trigger.
Lufia?
I just got one of these a few days ago (yes i know im very late but mmnm) and am very happy with it. Has all my favourite games ever
lol my friend got one as the target store opened up in norfolk. just casually walking in
Gearz86 same here in Australia, day after launch, went in and cabinet full still, no supply issues here.
Love to own one...thanks Nintendo.
go get one.
koban4max Tried everyplace in town and surrounding areas.
Slam Robot658 I got so lucky with mine there was 11 in GameStop and I was number 10 and I felt bad for people who actually wanted it all other people that got it were scalpers
There's loads on Ebay.
wizzgamer Hey chief I don't have like Drug Cartel money man.
Sim City would have been a great addition.
Well i hacked mine and got it...
@@RFLCPTR you're really cool.
Sim city 2000.
Guess I'm just lucky with where I live
jasonproductions1 it’s because he went to walmart. When I went to Target some people that missed out were complaining about the Walmart crowd
I think they just live in a crappy place. Most people buying these wanted to play them. My target had 60ish the nearby gamestops had like 20 my friend said. walmart had like 20. there were a ton out there to buy,
Don't get it twisted, the raspberry pie is dope because you get to play all those fun arcade games you remember as a kid and now enjoy it in your home
