Conan getting increasingly "done" as they keep cutting back to him is half the comedy. I love how he can't even muster the energy to prompt for the next one. It goes from him actually reading his segue lines to him just nodding to nothing.

Anyone else notice the Teddy Roosevelt guitar strap Conan has? That thing is badass. Conan's a huge history buff. Especially turn of the century era history. Doesn't shock me that he has it, but I want one.
I know that Conan and his crew love doing the show itself, but I imagine that rehearsal is actually everyone's favorite part of the day! It seems like such a cool, fun atmosphere!

It never ceases to amaze me how so many shows on television don't understand that these things are what's actually funny. I couldn't sit through an entire scripted, rehearsed show you'd find on the air, but I could watch these "scraps" all day, yet there aren't enough. Same with SNL. It's better when they mess up, laugh, aren't rehearsed enough, dress rehearsal, etc. Conan's aired show is boring, but man does he shine when he does what they call "remotes". Conan, here's a free piece of advice that will increase your popularity, word of mouth, and money in your pockets: do one remote at least once a week. Normally, we're lucky to see one once a month. They also cost less than writing and rehearsing bits. Just do what you do. Pick a location, visit it, and let that quick mind of yours reap comedy gold. Try two a week. Try one every night and drop the rest of the bits. Walk around the Conanco offices and just record shit. Trust me, it's 10 times funnier than that scripted stuff everyone works so hard on just to get a forced chuckle.
Agreed completely. Hearing them riff is the best part. Tough Crowd was good with that in the sense that the banter wasn't scripted either. The Green Room was not bad either with it. But I could definitely watch these in lieu of some of the monologues.
I don't mind the conversations with the guests either if there are funny stories or some unexpected moments in there, but in general I completely agree - improvisation is where Conan shines.
