This is great. All the other videos on YT show the exact same games. Thank you for posting something different! We're trapped inside today with 1.5 ft of snow and really needed this!
Your program is so rewarding for the dogs. I love how everything learned is fun and positively rewarded. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to learn how to teach my dog to do different behaviors in such a successful way. I love your program! Kelly Cooper Medina, Ohio
This is brilliant! It is super windy and cold here today, but my pup needs to move. I love how positive you guys are with your training. Your methods don't make me feel like a jerk or unloving. Thank you for sharing!
Two years after you left this comment, having a super windy day here in The Shetland Isles …and had the same idea to exercise the dog indoors! Great minds eh 😆
Love this idea and thank you so much. This is perfect for our English Shepherd who has tonnes of energy and hopefully going through each of these will get some of that energy burned off for a nap or especially bed time.
Oh wow! I have an Irish wolfhound puppy (6 months) that just finished obedience training level 1 and I have the hardest time getting him to go from a stand to down! He always wants to go to down from the sit position. Really cool to see another Irish wolfhound do this! I even tried to search it up for tips before, and most videos teach it from the sit position. So cool! Thanks guys for the info and inspiration. I'll keep working on it with my buddy Atlas!
I really appreciate this as it’s winter in Alaska (actually second winter lol) and we have a small living room. I inadvertently was having our 1 year old rescue do doggy push ups with ‘stand up’, ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’ training. I had no idea how much energy it takes, she’d throw a tantrum after a bit lol.
I have a medium-big dog(her name is coco), we just got her and shes 1 year old. We take her for walks but we also play with her and teach her trick in our backyard a lot. I'm going to try some of these things, thank you!!
One thing I would also recommend when practicing push ups for large/giant breeds is that a slow down is OKAY! Fast downs are hard on the elbows and often results in the development of bursas. My Irish Wolfhound struggled with bursas due to too fast of downs.
Thank hou for this. I love your techniques, you are gentle with the teaching and give tips for us that have zero experience in dog training. Your videos are straight to the point and so much talking of other irrelevant things tht are so tiring. Pls keep up the good work!
What an informative video, love this! Years ago I found your channel and have been following you ever since, thank you for inspiring me to create my own channel
I taught my dog what I called "puppy burpees", which was sit - down- jump up. She probably loved it the same amount that humans love burpees, but she'd do just about anything for a treat! 🤣
Looks like great techniques for teaching tricks however I would love to see a video with a dog that is not automatically doing exactly what you want them to do. I for one need instruction on dogs who do not do exactly what you wanted from the get go
I live in a RV in Arizona, its hard to go outside in the afternoon in the summer. I have a 100 lb malonois and a 85lb husky. We play hide and seek with toys, wrestling and tug a war and 5 mile walks at 3 am 😂😅
Thats a whole other exercise you can do with your dog...hold it so they can't steal it, and make them have a soft mouth before you release it. You might get nipped by mistake a couple of times but teaching them to take them softly of important.
What Antonia suggested is 100% what you should practice. I would do it with mine by teaching “no mugging!” I’d hold the treat in my closed fist and he would go crazy over it. I’d say “no mugging!” And look for him to sit back and wait patiently. He caught on super quick 😊
I agree with Whatever it Takes, in that I would like more info on how you are feeding the treats. I’m not afraid of my dog biting my finger. Is the dog constantly biting pieces of the treat off? Are there multiple pieces in your hand and he gets little pieces as he progresses? Is he only getting the reward at the end, but you are just keeping the treat by his nose?
16:32 what should I do, when the training worked way too well, for my extremely food motivated puppy? What I mean by that, is that I teach him something and once he understands he will get food for doing that. He will be doing it without getting asked and get frustrated, anxious, angry, and sometimes aggressive when he is not getting his food. For example, when I taught him to sit. Suddenly I would realize he would sit around me constantly and at first, I thought it was cute. But then he got mad and started growling and barking, if I got my hand close, he would bite. He would do it the whole day, and when he realized he was getting no food he would snap. And that happens with everything I teach him; he starts doing it over and over expecting infinite food. And he is so food motivated, that even when I give him precisely the amount he needs, he always wants more. Sometimes I wonder, if I should reward it anyway, but then it would reinforce it. And verbal rewards, doesn't seem to work. In fact, if I say yes without giving him food, he would get mad.
I know it’s been three months but I’ll answer for others who might be in the same situation. The pet shouldn’t have any exercise. 8 weeks of no exercise at least. I would try brain games like puzzle feeders to wear them out vs. anything physical. The pet is having the parasite die within their blood stream and the body needs time to safely remove/break this down. Any exercise puts them at risk of dislodging the worms from the heart and leading to serious complication and possible death.
I have obedience trained my 2 labrador dogs and I was wondering if u thought that a border collie puppy would be appropriate for my next project. I live around a dairy farm and have unlimited exercise space. And I'm planning on doing agility with it. So what do you recommend? Tysm❤️ All replies welcome it all helps❤️😊
What to do if the puppy starts doing unwanted behavior with the training tools? For example, chewing the box? My beagle loves putting stuff in his mouth, and one thing that makes training hard is when he starts chewing the training props like boxes and platforms. Hope you can give some advice...
My dog got attacked by a deer a couple months ago and she has been kind of distant but she has always been a very socialy ackward dog she is very sckittish aroud other people but not me but lately she has been skitish aroud me so do you have a video that can help me get that bond back, i think the reason she is more skittish aroud me is bc when i saw she was limping i had a panic attack and she went crazy and hurt herself more so i have felt bad about what happend can you help me? T-T
Hi! So i have a puppy about 4 months, we got him when he was about 2-3 months and i always trained him to poop and pee on training pads but recently we moved him into a small area in my basement with a little door for him to go outside, but we tried to train him to not pee or poop in that area but hes a scaredy cat and never poops outside. This has been going on for about 2-3 weeks and we really need some help on how to get him to understand that his little area is for sleeping and eating only and to go out and pee on his own time without me getting him and bringing him outside. If you can please respond, thank you!
@mccanndogs You're probably not looking at this comment section anymore considering this video was posted 3 years ago, but in case you happen to see this, what treats are you using? The dogs seem to really love them.
CAN YOU SHOW STUBBORN BREEDS??? SHIH TZUS FOR EXAMPLE. MINE WONT LISTEN, STOP BITING, OR PULLING! AND TREATS BARELY WORK! SHE GETS SO DISTRACTED BY LEAVES, PEOPLE, ACORNS, SQUIRRELS, ANYTHING THAT ISNT ME! HALLPP 😭
U show this training with dogs that r already trained, my dog luvs food n is very food oriented but it's not that easy to train her to go through my legs. U need to show with dogs that haven't done it before
I agree that walks should be a regular part of a dogs routine, but severe weather is a thing that happens sometimes. Heavy rain, storms, ice, etc. It’s nice to have some backup ideas to do indoors in case going outside isn’t an option some days.
Lol. I think just need to free my dog from crate and can do more exercises than this. Those dogs are already trained. If exercise/fitness is the topic, free the dog to a huge yard and throw a Frisbee.
Omg that Irish Wolfhound!!!!
This is great. All the other videos on YT show the exact same games. Thank you for posting something different! We're trapped inside today with 1.5 ft of snow and really needed this!
Great exercises! My puppy is 10 weeks old now and is really enjoying learning new tricks. Thank you!! ❤️💗❤️
love this! finally something i can do to stimulate my pup without tiring myself out with tug
This video is aweome thanks for the detailed tutorial, and the troubleshooting too

You guys are simply brilliant. Thank you for showing us how to communicate with our dogs!
Love this idea and thank you so much. This is perfect for our English Shepherd who has tonnes of energy and hopefully going through each of these will get some of that energy burned off for a nap or especially bed time.
IMHO, there is no better breed out there!
Fantastic tips! I can do these too
Ken, your short Cameo was hilarious!! 👍♥️😂
My BC hopped into the box and sat down within 2 minutes. And the treats rained down. So fun. Thank you!
My husband and I will be trying some of these. We have a 5 month old pitsky. He's so smart and very active. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. I've a large rescue street dog, and I LOVE your videos. They're a great help!!
This is so helpful! Especially with the cold weather coming!

I absolutely love this video! I plan on doing this all the time with my dog Cooper
Cheerio moves in high speed 😅 He's so excited for the food.Cute❣
I think you all are amazing. I am getting so much good stuff here!!
Appreciate your work McCann
Love the dog with the box,so clever

Looove your videos! Thank you so much☀️
Love that you used different dogs!!

Thanks!
Thanks for the Super Thanks!
I know you guys posted this video a long time ago but this video is just delightful!!!
Loved this! Great advice and really good fun for us both, thank you ☺️
Been waiting for ways to exercise my dog indoor
Very helpful ideas. Thanks!
Oh my gosh Skye is so gorgeous. I adore Irish Wolfhounds!
This is great! I’ve got a. Aussie so this gives me some things to do with him.

Shed probably have to get another dog 😂 when you train your dogs on a regular basis they usually pick up new tricks pretty quickly ❤
Love this!
What do you recommend for training treats?
Couldn't help it, that ridiculous joke made me hit the like button. 🤣
lol exactly what I did
So cute❤️
I live in a RV in Arizona, its hard to go outside in the afternoon in the summer. I have a 100 lb malonois and a 85lb husky. We play hide and seek with toys, wrestling and tug a war and 5 mile walks at 3 am 😂😅
That Irish Wolfhound is HUGE!
Great video. Will give the bar trick a go for sure and the box 🐾🤗
That Cheerio is such a cute dog.
what do you use for treats? Just curious
Love your shows! Coukd you provide a treat kibble to train my puppy?? Please
Hi from germany. Im a big fan. Question. How long does it take to train each trick ? I have a Australian shepherd puppy, thx
Could you show how you hold the treat in your hand? I feel nervous about my puppy biting my fingers
Thats a whole other exercise you can do with your dog...hold it so they can't steal it, and make them have a soft mouth before you release it. You might get nipped by mistake a couple of times but teaching them to take them softly of important.
Put treat on open flat hand on the center of the palm. Not holding with two fingers 😅and also height of the hand.
@@themontecristo1985 agree with this 100% it’s a really important thing to teach and they catch on really fast.
What Antonia suggested is 100% what you should practice. I would do it with mine by teaching “no mugging!” I’d hold the treat in my closed fist and he would go crazy over it. I’d say “no mugging!” And look for him to sit back and wait patiently. He caught on super quick 😊
I do the fist exercise to help them have a soft mouth but I also only treat flat handed.
Do you have any tips for high energy, highly-intelligent 1 yr olds. My lab pups got bored with these very quickly before it ran out their energy.
I agree with Whatever it Takes, in that I would like more info on how you are feeding the treats. I’m not afraid of my dog biting my finger. Is the dog constantly biting pieces of the treat off? Are there multiple pieces in your hand and he gets little pieces as he progresses? Is he only getting the reward at the end, but you are just keeping the treat by his nose?
what are u using as reward food. my almost 2 yr old min pin is so fussy

Kayl!! omg. How tall are you? Sky is almost your height sitting!! wow :0)
Are these exercises low cardio enough to do with a dog on heartworm restriction exercise for at least a month ?
I know it’s been three months but I’ll answer for others who might be in the same situation. The pet shouldn’t have any exercise. 8 weeks of no exercise at least. I would try brain games like puzzle feeders to wear them out vs. anything physical. What type of mat are you and the dog sitting on in this video ?

All replies welcome it all helps❤️😊
Half that for the UK :)
My 30kg 6 month old pup just fits under my legs, in another 6 months we will try a saddle!
At first I thought you will train the huge dog, Sky to go between your legs like the previous dog lol.
I have a flat coat retriever. Picky and not very motivated by food or toys. How do i motivate ?
What to do if the puppy starts doing unwanted behavior with the training tools? For example, chewing the box? My beagle loves putting stuff in his mouth, and one thing that makes training hard is when he starts chewing the training props like boxes and platforms. Hope you can give some advice...
I need to get taller if I’m going to do the first one.😂
Great video but that projection tv is going to be hard to dispose of. Really enjoy the way you all train
What type of do treats do you
use?

Tie him where you want to do pe . Reward him there when he do . and then take him inside. Repeat every two hours for two days .
How young of a pup would you do these with?
So my dog looks EXACTLY like Lucy and I haven't done a DNA test. Any have any ideas what mix she looks like? She's beautiful!
@mccanndogs You're probably not looking at this comment section anymore considering this video was posted 3 years ago, but in case you happen to see this, what treats are you using? The dogs seem to really love them.
Hoq old are these dogs?
Just a question.. have you ever had a real stubborn dog that refused to do anything?
Ken, you are freakin' adorable, lol.
My dog would have ripped the box to pieces.
What was the 2nd dog?
She said Irish Wolfhound
CAN YOU SHOW STUBBORN BREEDS??? SHIH TZUS FOR EXAMPLE. MINE WONT LISTEN, STOP BITING, OR PULLING! AND TREATS BARELY WORK! SHE GETS SO DISTRACTED BY LEAVES, PEOPLE, ACORNS, SQUIRRELS, ANYTHING THAT ISNT ME! HALLPP 😭
My GSD hates brooms. He would grab it and run
My dogs are too smart for their own good. They’ll either try to walk around the broomstick or hop over it.
I’m a good boy

How is this a workout when the dog is eating 😂😂😂
