My hack when installing a used set of brake calipers in a new frame is to put a new hose on the rear, then put the longer used hose on the front. Saves me from taking the bike apart again!
Fantastic build overall, thunderburt is my go to for the MOG as well running 2.2 front/2.1 rear! The heatset kit is kinda new but the bearings itself have been around for quite some time, have been using the bearings for about 1 year now
@@bicyclestation Hey guys if I wanted to go regular SRAM Red xplr 1x12 but use my domane for road and gravel - what gearing would u recommend with the 10-36 cassette in terms of front ring?? ..I live in the Canadian Rockies..so lots of hills.. Or should I just stick to 2X ? Look forward to your insights
Dude! You need the Silca Bourbon Titanium bottles cages on that green bike. I have them on my Moss Green - Satin Race Transmission Lauf Seigla. I'm also running the 2.1 Schwalbe Thunder Burts with tan walls and it looks sick! 😎
"It's way more fun to get your butt kicked than to win by 9 minutes" - Haha totally agree. If I could win the pro race by 9 minutes Keegan style then I might have fun with that but I'll never know 😅. It's funny because I come from a running background where most people are going to be mixed in with the best runners and you just never win. In that world you just adjust your goals an expectations like "hey I wonder if I could finish in the top 100, or within 1 minute of the winner, or whatever".
Any suggestions on tire choice when the event is half pavement half gravel? In PA we tend to have the half and half it seems. Thanks for the advice and keep up the solid video work!
Green, yellow, nice. Not so sure about the purple. Is it possible to successfully mount a Tailfin Pannier Rack to the Moggie? I imagine a typical rear rack design (with 'v' vertical struts) would not be possible. I'm liking the shape of the brake levers
ENVE official doc tells to install foamy thing on hoses where stem and handlebar meets, so I do. Do you have any issues like rattling not installing that?
I installed it. Sorry if that was off camera. But no issues at all. The velcro in the frame holds the hose down. I think there’s a shot of that in this video.
Huge bummer SRAM doesn’t have larger chainrings maybe 48 and 50 for the threaded BB, I’m also in between 44/46/48 but won’t buy a $800 chainring to be able to run a 48 😖
Why not both. I’ve mentioned this in multiple videos not. I was a huge skeptic of them. Then they sent me a few to try and I can confirm I notice the difference. My take is if it’s out of your budget don’t stress about it. If you have the money to blow on it you will be able to notice.
@@bicyclestation insanely expensive. i would take those savings and invest on new wheelsets e.g the zipp 303 xplr . you know you void Sram warranty on the derailleur. not a cheap item to replace. remember most of us do not buy bike parts at COST :)
I have both MOG and FRAY, I wouldn't get a Melee. If you wanna race road or want a fast bike get a SL8, Ostro Vam, Supersix. Not a heavy Melee. THey really should redesign the Melee to be more racy now that they have the bike in the world tour. Otherwise Fray is a fantastic weekend warrior bike. I've run 32s, 34s and 40s on the fray.
Trying to not waste the lines I have. Saves a ton of money since we do so many swaps. Would be like a few hundred dollars in break lines over a 6 month period
I don’t understand your bike fit problem with size 56. With a 1 cm shorter stem and no spacers on the top tube it’s the same fit as the 54 frame you built in this video.

Ok, that green MOG is my next gravel bike.
Let me know! We can get you on. sales@thebicyclestation.com

When I finally hit a scratch off.😂
Dammm is amazing bike 🤩🙏
Appreciate it!

Love the matte color! MOG is a fantastic bike! But those zipp wheels on Enve bike hurt my eyes! 😂
That Green is top shelf 👌
The rockshox reverb barb connector works really well to route a new hose to replace an old one. It is short so it can take tighter bends.
Green is going to be very popular, IMHO. Great bike! I owned the sand color and only sold it due to a conflict 😮. A solid race bike‼️
Finally a bar tape i can get behind!

Love Abbey tools but both ceramic speed and chrisking make nicer bb sockets

hows the big gravel wheels comparison video going?
Its very snowy and cold here so that might be on hold till spring unfortunately
Current gravel national champ won the race on 44c slicks 😎

What pedals do you guys run for gravel?
I use HT t2s for gravel.
How can you fit those tires/wheels? Looks super tight. The MOG can clear more than 50?
Easily. Trey has 2.2s in his
@ he’s getting no rub? Whats width of the tire?
So the MOG can clear 55? Looking to buy a MOG or Lauf frame
They say 50 but these easily fit
Easy fix, 😂 Velcro strap the fork to the frame!

Why not the XPLR wheelset or the MOG? I am extremely satisfied with mine. They are exceptionally fast, and the 45mm looks like nothing on them.
I’m just waiting for them to come in the mail. Didn’t make it in time for the video lol.
@@bicyclestation Make sense. They will look killer on the MOG
zipps are cool, I’m just surprised you haven’t had issue with freehub kerplosion in a gravel environment.
Roval/DT guts never lose (54T).
Never haha. Also have never serviced it. Just a really solid experience with them across the board.

Please share more on the fit, surprised that a 54 would fit you.
What measurements? My set is 69cm to the rail
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII like bikes
5'11" on a 54? Jesse, what's your inseam? And what's the top bar height?
You can’t be doing all that color coordination and making us look bad
no black one
instead of spending all that money on ceramic speed ospw garbage use wax on your chain.
Why not both.

But like you have to agree with an unlimited budget it’s totally worth it. That’s kinda the situation ultimately.
It's official, this will be my next bike.
Let me know! I can make it happen.

No Thunder Burts in stock. 😢
We have the black side wall ones
@ I just see Super Ground in black, no Super Race right?
Exactly.
The value prop of the mog vs frey is so silly. Why even build the Frey when the Melee is near the same fit and the mog can fit larger tyres.
I agree they all are kinda similar. But I can say we sell more freys than melees.
@@bicyclestationhow similar are the Fray and the Melee?
The melee is slight more racing focused. But it’s not that different.

Every body is different
I can’t put the stem low enough on the 56.
@@valiantabello Did you read my comment? It’s not different when it’s the same …
Not to mention the standover height/seat tube length is likely preferable for him on the 54.
I’m not understanding how a 10mm shorter stem would make the bar lower?
