    Where can one purchase the Halo Wire? I can't find it anywhere on the internet....

      I bought it in the UK, I believe that it is discarded tare wire, so if you know someone in law enforcement ...

      Tare wire?.. never heard of that. But I think I found something comparable, it’s stuff girls use to attached hair extensions….🤷

    Awesome shrimp pattern! Any possibility you could do a micro leach tutorial?

      Hi Shaun, thanks! Take a look at my opossum worm video. This tied in smaller sizes is the best leach pattern available...

    I look forward to every new chapter in Featherbender chronicles and the Halo Glass Shrimp was well worth the anticipation. Since viewing your tutorial, I have searched the web over to find a source for the Spirit River Halo River but alas no joy. According to my local fly shop, the material is not listed in the catalog so it is very new or very old. Do you have some information on where to get some now that you set the hook?

      Hi Tom, I have chased Spirit River and they no longer stock it but told me that its really 'Taser Wire' thats right from used tasers in law enforcement. So I have found some and may have it shortly.

      Many thanks Barry. I would love to know if you are able to get some without getting zapped.

    Fantastic work Sir, very realistic and yet such a simple tie. You use a lot of MP's tools, may I ask as to why you don't use his whip finisher? Each to his own, but I've found it one of the best n the market. Have you found it just doesn't suit you or....?

      Thanks Slick, Yes thats right, I have worked closely with Marc for the last six years on his book that will be published next year so I have got use to using his vice and tools, but his whip finisher is a little large for me, I have used the Matarelli rotary for I think about 25 years now and it works great for me, but all down to personal taste really!

    Is Dyneema the same as GSP thread? I have looked for it for some time now and have not found it. I was told it is a brand name for GSP. Is that true? Lovely shrimp. Thanks Sean

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  7 лет назад

      No Sean, its not the same but can be used if you can't get the real thing. Veniard's are now selling real DYNEEMA so you should be able to get it from any of their stockists.

      I live in the U.S.A. No Veniards here. I will check the website if they have one. If shipping isn't prohibitive I will get some. Thanks for the quick reply. All the best, Sean

    I still don't get how these hook point down patterns wouldn't just snag every cast.

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад

      It only fishes like any normal wet fly! If you fish it deep on the bottom it will snag like most other traditional flies.

    My bad. I meant Halo 'Wire' not Halo River
