Tank showed how underrated his wrestling was. He can say at the end of the day he was able to defend and land a takedown on a Judo Olympic Gold medalist.
@@rh45sth62 oh thanks. In Japan we call it Judo-gi. There are many names like bra-bra-gi here, for example sagyo-gi that means work suit. "Gi" means just suit or clothes.
@@ajwoodall31 I guess it's possible, it would be lighter and cooler, but less robust. You do know Yoshida is a highly decorated Judoka ? If you freeze the video at 3.02 (in the promo) you can see the dimples in his gi, which is characteristic of a Judo gi. I've done both codes as well, so I'm aware of the fabric and style differences.
Pride set tank up. They kept the fight on the ground when 99% of the time they don’t and they always stand it up. They let tank sit in his guard for 5 straight minutes
I think youve lost your mind. Tank is the one who brought the fight to the ground. Both times it was after tasting strikes from Yoshida. Also Pride is not known for stand ups. Its the complete opposite. Pride is known for extended grappling matches and fights where refs hardly ever intervened unless fighters were in the ropes. They at times brought multiple refs in to drag the fighters bodies back to the center as they were locked together. Several times fighters got upset because they tried to switch to a position that was less advantageous (like trying to pretend they were in half guard when they were actually in full gaurd) Its the whole reason Pride had the long first round… their whole foundation and rules are built around giving grapplers time to work. In a real fight a ref doesnt come in and save you and let you stand up.
His love for alcool and no discipline make him a looser ,it's sad because however He is naturally made for become a fighter naturally agressive ,strong ,and resistant
@@djaydjayjim He's a typical muscle mass though: Very strong in the first 2 minutes, but gasses out quickly. With the proper technique, as in this case, it seems like fighters much smaller than him could beat him.

Tanks wrestling was great. Second only to his striking
Myślę że gdyby Yoshida trafił na Tanka młodszego o te 7 lat to Tank by wygrał
Sadly Tank are not smart to learn Jiu Jitsu.
Abbott lost this match but he speaks fondly of it because he said he absolutely loved Japan and that the people there treated him excellent.
It's impressive Yoshida was able to win such a long fight in a gi. That takes incredible stamina
What's gi?

Tanke Abboto is one of my favorite fighters
Tank put up a good fight
They should have had a cage. That stop and start ring stuff isn’t right
Tank was supposed to fight Kimo in the first event KRS PRIDE.1, but was replaced by Dan Severn
"Tanky Abbottaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!" :D
This shows that power does make a difference in controlling techniques to some extent yoshida didn’t have it he’s way right away
damn what win, Yoshida such a fighter
I'm glad yoshida won and as for tank Abbott at least he was nice and fought respectfully.
Abbott looked like he was in his third trimester of pregnancy.
アボットに勝つって凄いことだよ

His age in this fight and his years of alcoholism really showed. A great brawler and wrestler in his younger years.
