I own an F-150 as well and I have been looking to see what a system from Yakima would look like on it. This video showed me everything I needed to know thanks 🙏.
Hey Bob, 2018 F-150 supercrew owner, I have had the Yakima Overhaul HD’s on since they came out but would now like to add the lock and load platform to the front and back. Could you post the specs to your setup, platform size front and back (I’m sure they’re the same size) also for over the cab, landing pads, towers and crossbar length. Thanks Mark
The platforms I have are both 54" X 58". You can go to the Yakima website and they give you an option to plug in all your truck's exact specs and then give you a list of optional gear that fits your truck. BTW, thanks for watching!
Great video thanks for sharing I have your same truck , so good stuff for me, how long is your crossing bars (60”) ?? i also want to put falcon xl from roof nest tent ⛺️ Thanks in advance
Nice video, I always liked the yakima stuff...have the HD bedrack towers with sidebars sitting in my living room waiting to put on, going on a Tundra and I will be putting a roof top tent on that systems...probably going with the lock and load rack over the cab....have a mega warrior basket....but I think the lock and load looks so much better...Thanks for putting out a great video...subscribed
Man thanks for showing your setup. I am going to setup my 2018 Ford F-150 exactly like yours. My concern is the additional height that lock and load platform added on the cabin. If you don't mind, can you tell me how many inches did it add from cabin roof? I need to know if i used the same system as yours would it fit my 82 inch garage door height. Thanks much.
Haha! You clearly haven't watched the fire table video or the generator video in which it is plain, I'm embarrassed to say, I haven't parked a vehicle in our garage in years. Thanks for watching this one, though.
Is there a reason you went with the bars instead of attaching the platform directly to the towers? I am trying to decide rather to do cross bars and a basket or one of the platforms on my truck cap.
Haha, yeah, we are currently on a trip to Mammoth Lakes area in California. On our way up the Sherwin Grade, outside of Bishop, in 93 degree heat, pulling our 5,000 pound trailer at 59 MPH at only about 2,400 RPM with no heat up at all. Thanks for watching!

What hat are you wearing in the first part of this video? The canvas hat. Brand and style/model please.
Thanks.
It's the Vented Sahara Outback from REI Co-op. Yeah, I love that hat!

In this case, I don't think Yakima has a configuration where the platform attaches directly to the towers. The towers and bars are a set.
Any other thoughts on the setup now that you’ve had it for several months?
Actually, no, not really. The original install remains solid as a rock. Thanks for watching!
I can’t believe Yakima and Thule prices. Also can’t believe the amount of people who pay them….
Can your ford handle the extra weight now LOL

What bar length did you go with on the Overhaul; 68” or 78”?
Mine are 68". I think 5 inches more on each side, on my truck, at least, would be too much.
to much cool truck for my stuff...
Won’t need a wallet after all that $$$
Thanks for watching, Steve. Yes, resources required for the full contingent.
