Just imagine.. If the fully imported car is costing about 50 Lakh on road, then if BYD starts manufacturing in India, it's just the end for all EV makers...
Exactly and the local players are scared of foreign techs and these local players still can't capture the Indian market or entered globally and making cars for past 5 decades .. local players are just for profits without risk policy
What I have usually seen is manufacturers usually make their profit margins gap widen even if that happens and to end consumer it hardly reflects on paper. I mean they wouldn't reduce the price marginally as low as 30 lakhs for the base and then following variants upwards. Even if BYD decides to make this here in India, right now the starting point ticks at 41, then it would certainly tick at 36-37. To me it's again sub 40 lakh on-road again. What I believe is people who have sought this out and are ought to buy this vehicle they'll love the CBU route more than the make in India as far as what I have seen people appreciating. That's a sad story though! 😅
Because chinese govt heavily subsidized the EV sector!
It will not be an end for all ev makers!
Byd seal is not imported... it is assembled in Chennai.
This car is approximately 300K rupees in Malaysia
India has 2 car manufacturers... Tata and Mahindra. Ok lets add Maruti as well...3.. CHINA has 48 car makers and 19 EV makers. What you get in Mercedes C class, they are giving it in a 12 lakh Rs car in China ..!!! 😅😅

BYD is going to be the Xiaomi of cars in India. Going to be really good value for money

No Xiaomi itself has an EV SU7. Most likely these Chinese cars will be like mobile phones sharing similar hardware. In coming years market will be flooded with different models. If indian makers sleep, Tata and Mahindra will next Micromax.
Byd is actually the creme of the layer in ev technologies especially the most vital element the battery.
@@phanindra40I hope the bike brand CFMOTO also enter india again with good strategy this time. They makes some of the most good looking bikes with KTM engines at affordable price, they can shake off TVS and Bajaj because lately this brands are not giving anything good
Vivo*, any who used both knw Vivo is better.
I drove this machine yesterday in Bangalore traffic and on highways, oh god it is indeed a great car. Luxury and comfort delivered and value for money. The acceleration and deceleration is good and the steering control gives you a lot of confidence. Overall, great car and the LFP technology of the battery is a good bet.
How was it's response over potholes?
@@PS-ug7nm I would say not bad with potholes but I was a little worried manoeuvring over bumps. I am sure the car would brush if you are not used to driving low ground clearance cars.
I hope BYD make a impact in India. Let more players enter the market. So the price of car gets dropped atleast a little bit. Eventhough our government make us pay ridiculous amount of tax.

They are making a sub 20,000 Euro car for the European market which will be made in Europe first, then China plant.
That car is atleast 2-3 years away from launch

Now atleast tata and mahindra came to know what to offer on what price tag. If its locally made then the price would be around 30lakhs with 523Hp (Top Spec) and tata and mahindra should think of this price tag with that car specs for indian buyers.

Watch seal vs tesla model 3 once before you buy. And at this price point, interior / exterior looks are not so great in my opinion.

Absolute value for the money. This very model competes with Tesla Model S in international market but if tesla were to launch their full lineup in India by pricing standards it would be competing with Model 3 in India which is far inferior.

It's amazing how far Chinese car makers have come in terms of technology and quality. BYD's blade batteries are the best in the world and that certainly gives them a competitive advantage. Test drove the Seal recently and was blown away by it's looks, interior fit and finish quality, driving dynamics and acceleration.
Just drove this beauty today and I’m quite impressed.
This looks good and should drive well considering it is giving tough competition to Tesla overseas. However, the main area of concern is the 145mm ground clearance (unladen). This would reduce by at least 10mm once we have 4 people on board. I would then find it difficult to even remove the car out from my building gate to the road without scraping the underbody.

you buy a BYD because of their blade battery technology, industry leading, and they also sell this tech to other OEM and Tier 1 automotive maker too.
Noticed the air vents adjust slightly when the center infotainment changes modes at 6:00. Such attention to detail.

Tesla's main competitor arrived in India before Tesla
Just saw this on Bangalore road and in person this looks so fking cool. Behind this was a bwm (couldn't make out the model) and looked pale in front of the seal. I could not make out if this was the premium or the performance version, but the way it took off I couldn't even follow. I was on a bike though. The acceleration was just LIT. 😂

It's not going to seal the deal. Byd sea lion 07 ev which has looks of seal and ground clearance of atto 3 will be the model to watch out for, of course if it's priced similar to seal.

Foreign companies understand Indian roads and conditions of indian people but our desi companies like tata and mahindra cars comes defective straight from production department and tata and mahindra gunda and harrasment service centres.. Even maruti is better than mahindra and tata...

This is exactly what India needs. Wish it was from an Indian brand, made in and made for India. That would have really shown its impact in pricing. Similar vehicles in or arnd 20 lac(may not be that luxurious) will bring in the EV revolution we are all waiting for. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Where is it manufactured currently?
A 70 lac 200 odd HP C class feels quite a bit overpriced now. Seal is taller, wider more spacious has more power and torque is better built.

So if the battery is integrated into the chassis, then how the replacement will be done ? By changing the whole chassis? I'm not getting it
If it is welded into the chassis, then not replaceable. If just placed on the floor by swapping out the chassis floor, then it can be replaced
Take a look at Nio (Chinese EV maker). That company offers battery replacement as an option (instead of charging). It works the same way.

Unlike Tesla, BYD has heads up display, instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, turn signal stalk, gear shift lever, and some physical buttons. I would never buy a Tesla.

The only issue I see is the Ground Clearance which outside of cities is a no-no. Otherwise, the most exciting new car in India in a long time!

Any way to increase the ground clearance? Like a Lift Kit perhaps? There is one available for the Tesla Model 3, it's called mountain pass or something which raises 140mm gc of model 3 to 175mm. Wish something like this will be available for the seal as well.

Range seems overrated. Great if it even has real world range of 400 kms+
If u see other videos on youtube, actual range is close to 500kms for the 650km range variant

Excellent Car but fail in Speed breaker test in India. add 4 people more in the car and ground clearance will reduce to 10mm more.

Buy this instead of hyundai ev , bcoz they are reliable and their battery is even used in hyundai ev
BYD has a history of battery manufacturing, they used to make batteries for buses that are used in UK and they also make batteries for tesla Y and plus ioniq 5 is more expensive than this.
