    Hi Diego, I can see your thought process on how to get a long standing problem corrected. Since I was stationed on Kodiak I know how rain affects not only your day to day but also how it affects your home. You definitely need to get up off of grade and use materials that drain away water but don’t wick water up into your structural support system. I’m trying to remember if Sitka gets more rain than you. Also not being wasteful and only gathering the materials that you need is one of the reasons why I watch your videos. One step at a time, stop smell the blessings that life has given you and then proceed. How’s your nice neighbor been doing have you checked in to see if anything can be done? That’s another thing that I like about this channel being kind and helpful. Great Videos, Thank You 🙏, and remember your drainage grades!! Lol!!!

    Diego as far as you gutter goes your better doing it in sections and jointing it together. this allows for expansion and contraction as well just keep a grade on you gutter of about 1/4 to 3/8 in to prevent standing water use Gutter Sealant at your joints and around your drains as well on the inside use a Hanger for your sections and a Ferrel inside from front to rear to attach your gutters and keep them a consistent open width wise as well.....do a search for SMACNA Standards for gutter and you will get an AI briefing you what you need to do.

    Regarding the full wrap around guttering. You can 100% do it yourself. Just like you did with the partial guttering. There's no need for "one piece" guttering like you mentioned. You can do it in sections with connectors. It's not too difficult. I think I even advised doing this in your original guttering video.

    not sure if your planning on packing more gravel in pails or not but a square hoop will help pack two pails at a time, you can google it . water carrying hoops , when i was a kid we packed water from a well using a square hoop made out out 2x2 wood or close to that dimension . if you make one put it in your video and let us know if it was worth it . i know gravel is probably a bit heavier then water but should still work . keep up the good work bud ! Never known a gutter to be in one piece. Where I am you buy the lengths you can transport and joiners that just clip the sections together 100% water tight. Maybe things are different in the USA ? But that's how almost every house/building/shed is done here in England. keep up the good work Diego looking forward to the next vid.

    • @peachettte
      @peachettte 9 дней назад +2

      Exactly my thoughts - to save money you can buy plastic ones and bind them together, I'm sure the US has them too.
      In any case, gutters are cheaper than moldy rotting house.

    Diego if your interested in any shale/flagstone type rock to make a walkway or something you can find it over on the Adams side off curly creek. IIRC the turn off is close to that big log you cut up the other day, but it's been many years since I revisited the spot, despite me being out there hunting and foraging every year.

    Gotta watch when carrying the buckets of gravel as if you get into an emergency situation and have to brake the pails will come flying forward and wreck the front of your truck box. Do not ask me how I know this but after I put a 2x6 in the ear groves of the truck box sides to make a little separate area at the tailgate of the box.

I cut 1/3 of the top and when I enstaled themI put mesh wire on top to keep out pine needles from clogging it up. Just an idea if interested plus easy to paint.

    idealy you want the rebar in the bottom 1/3 of the footing. you could have tied the rebar to the chairs and turned them on their sides and then tied your cross peices on the ones tied to the chairs. this would have dropped your rebar into the desired level in the footing. but it will work like you did it.

    They sell gutter in 16foot sections. There like $24.00 a section.
    Buy a stack of them and stick through the back window of truck.
    I Lap my gutter joints versus using the couplers.
    Much less chance of leaking.
    Although if you tapper the gutter to the spout , there should never be standing water in gutter.
    I did my whole house and shop this way.
    65feet was my longest run.

    I've watched all 3 of these foundation repair vids. I don't see you going down below the frost line with your new posts. Your big pads on top of the native soil is less than ideal, as long term stability is compromised. Better to dig smaller, deeper (2-4 ft. depending on local conditions) post holes that will not frost heave. A new quick method is to have a guy come with a special tool and drill in big steel screw type anchors as deep as needed. Then go back and attach your wood beams well above the wet ground.
