Imagine telling the guy in this video that he would take 2nd place (by minutes) in MOAB just 5-6 years later.....What an impressive journey that is only on chapter 2:)
Wow just casually hanging out with Kilian. Great film! I just stumbled across it in 2020. Talking notes to make more compelling films with great storytelling like yours!
Thanks so much!
Love this hardrock, story well captured.
Aah the back catalogue of videos are just as impressive , yeeha ❤

Beautiful video, seems to really capture the essence of the race. I want to go and run Hard Rock some day or at least do some running and hiking along the course.
Thanks, I’m still waiting for my shot. I’d recommend checking out some of the course though for sure.
This video just teaches me how to run with what you have now, good training and in good mood 😊😊
Well done Kevin and Jeff great storytelling 👍

Loved this! Awesome film (and great choice of music by the way!)
Thanks Lea! I spend quite a bit of time on music selection, so I appreciate that :)
Great and inspiring video! Thanks!
So amazing! Good work here Jeff!
You're very talented. I know how difficult it is to record such things on your own and then edit it in interesting way (I've never been close to your quality though).
I am really surprised, I didn't know your channel earlier.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful location, great camera work and amazing discipline of everyone involved. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much!

Great vid, man. Thanks and congrats!
Thanks!
Well done! I'm from Europe so this is such a cool insight into what trail running looks like in the states 😊 can't wait for this pandemic to be over..also, 6:40, the.best.part in ultra running 😌
Thank you! Where in Europe are you based? I’d love to move to the Alps one day.
@@JeffPelletier I'm from Slovenia, a really small country between Croatia, Austria, Italy and Hungary 😊
That's great! It depends on what your needs are but, living near or in the Alpine regions really is a good choice for trail runners. There is 8 countries with Alps, each with trails and races of various difficulties, available literally throughout the entire year, a lot of them being ITRA certified and UTMB qualifiers. (tip: make sure you always bring your ID/passport in case you (literally) run into another country 😄)
Swiss, Italian and French Alps are simply incredible. Matterhorn, Chamonix, Dolomites, Eiger..the list goes on.
Norway and Scotland are a nice change of scenery and weather, also amazing terrain in Europe for runners 😊
If you ever come across Slovenia, I'd suggest the part called "Gorenjska", so the Triglav national park for running in particular, then the Soča river, lake Bohinj, Tolmin, Bled & Olimia spa for recovery 😊 There was supposed to be a race this September called Julian Alps Trail Run in Kranjska Gora but it got cancelled due to covid, unfortunate but understandable.
Take care! Happy running ✌
Amazing, thanks for the information! I’ve run Tor Des Geants in the Italian Alps and Swiss Peaks 360k, but I’ve got a lot more to see.
Awesome! Great video!
Great video. Stoke level for Hard Rock off the charts.
+Wing Taylor thanks man, glad to help stoke the flames.
Damn! Now I need to get my qualifier😁
fantastic production!
+Kim Espat thanks! Best of luck, it's a long process..
Thanks for the video Jeff! It's amazing to see the venue. Have you finally had the chance to run it yourself?
JC L not yet! Fingers crossed for next year.
Great story telling!
Thanks Graham!

Nice job on the video!!
+Dan Savage thanks!
Great work! I love to watch your and this one in particular.By the way: Can you tell me the title or source of the Music used in the beginning and from 14:59?
The music was all licensed from royalty free music websites, so I unfortunately don't know the names. Sorry!
Awesome video Jeff.
Sorry for being so late in checking it out.
Did you ever get to run Hardrock?
Thanks Thomas. Still no luck, but I'll keep applying each year to the lottery!
Really enjoyed the video. New sub here :D
+wsx11000 awesome, thanks
Uhh, isn't the method everyone teaches is live high and train low? This lets you maximize your training load and adapts your body to altitude? Edit: I say this as the guy with a LOT less fitness than Kevin and will never be as good as him. Thanks for posting the video Jeff.
The ‘train low’ part usually applies to intensity or speed work. It’s difficult to maximize your turnover, for example, if you live at 10,000 feet, so athletes will commonly go low for key workouts and do the rest of their training volume higher up where they live.
But when it comes to training for an ultra like Hardrock, part of what you’re trying to do is to simulate the elevation you’ll be racing at during your training. Unfortunately, sleeping high as well doesn’t allow your body to properly recover at night since it’s always ‘working’. This can lead to poorly performance during training and racing because you’ve effectively been ‘over training’.
Very well done!
Thanks!
Great video. I just found your channel and i love it. I am from Ontario, and boy do I need to get to the Western Part of the continent. Look me up if you come to Southern Ontario! Question: what kind of watch are you using?
Thanks Josh! I’m using the Suunto Baro 9.
8.23: Jamil with lots of facial hair, lol!
Which Hardrock prequalifying race are you running? Im doing RRR on 9/8!
+Nick Ackermann I ran the 2015 Fat Dog 120 Miler.
Hi! great video! could anyone identify the music played in it? thanks!!!
The music was all licensed from royalty free music websites, but unfortunately I don't have a list of the names. Sorry!
At 7:10, what brand and model of watch is it ?
I think that would have been the Suunto Ambit 3. But I’be since upgraded to the Suunto Baro 9 which I’d highly recommend.
wutang!
Nice catch!
Disregard. Wrong year!:-)
+Kurt Perham hah, you had me second guessing ;)
First Kilian and now François, aren't you a bit weary of these Europeans breaking the record time? (joke)
Beautiful video, seems to really capture the essence of the race. I want to go and run Hard Rock some day or at least do some running and hiking along the course.
I’d recommend fastpacking the course over 3-4 days. They call it ‘Softrock’, and you can stay in hotels along the way 😎.
With the luck I’ve had in the lottery so far, that might be the closest I’ll ever get to running the whole course!
