I think most people watch your videos for the serenity you prrovide, not because of the trailer you have. Keep doing what your soul desires - you help us mend our own.
Could not have said that better. Slim has never disappointed. I am simply grateful for being allowed access into the world of The most revered Potatohead... wherever that might take us. So I say... Lead On Slim!.. to ever new adventures.
The people of You Tube Land love watching a new build out of a van, empty trailer, or gutting out something older. Even you bringing us along as you pick out and buy a new rv, trailer, etc. and customizing would be great to watch.
You lead, we'll follow. Part of the appeal for me is that you genuinely love what you are doing and filming. Keep yourself entertained and we will be too. I'm very curious to see where your preference takes you! Always enjoy your posts for your McGiver skills, your simplicity, and true love of nature.I Thanks!
Your channel is about you - your gifted storytelling, your experiences, your artful videography- anything you do we will enjoy. Thank you for sharing your adventures 😊
For your next trailer, would love to see you do a small cargo trailer conversion. Would be so cool to see what happens when a blank canvas is mixed with the SP H enginuity and sensibility.
Vagabond Wheels that’s what I was thinking. Something like a wee roll would be perfect. Plus they are built like tanks and pretty light and inexpensive
After a LONG day of dealing with angry divorce clients with insanely, unreasonable expectations, it is SOOOO soul restoring to be treated to a Slim presentation! Thank you, Sir! YOU ROCK!!!!!
You're pretty handy, how about building a trailer the way you want it? Maybe start with a cargo / box trailer and go for it. You could do a lot with a 6x12 trailer.
So they have places like "The Van Build" and all sorts of nomadic gatherings in the desert during winter months and it looks like a great community and they all help each other with their builds. A quality trailer would only be a few thousand dollars (USD) and you could build one out to your spec with actual home furnishings that would be a lot more durable. Insulate it to your needs, wire it to your needs etc...
@@SlimPotatohead I'll bet someone as handy as you could get a basic trailer frame, rough out a basic teardrop trailer and modify it as you go on the road. Or start with a basic teardrop, something like Primal Outdoors trailer from drifter trailers and modify it as desired (I have no association with Primal Outdoors or Drifter Trailers other than also watching the Primal videos.)
Back pack, day hike, fly somewhere doesn't matter to this ole lady! Just keep videoing I will never be able to do what you do! Getting to watch and see what you do makes my life happier! Your living my dream!
Whatever your endeavors are I will continue to watch. Any person that has respect for Mother Earth has my respect. Thank you for all your travels , repairs and ingenuity. Bring on the new.
Slim, after owning 3 Jaycos I finally bought the trailer of my dreams; Cargo Trailer. Cheap, light, perfect for solar and you can build it out just the way you want. Think of all the projects you could film!
I was going to suggest that as well so I second the Idea. Slim would probably come up with something unique and very interesting to watch. Also they are better constructed than most travel trailers. I want a cargo trailer to convert to a "Bunkie" for a guest room at the cabin. and possibly use myself sometimes as a weekender.
Slim-I watch this to see YOU-do what you want, we'll be watching. It's your unique vision, outlook, story-telling and humor that keeps us coming back for more. Blank canvas, my friend-go for it!!
Slim. I think alot of viewers including myself would enjoy seeing you do a euro trip. Maybe back packing/ hiking in Switzerland, Ireland, Italy maybe.. just really gorgeous landscapes I think you would love. I'll support what ever you do!
People tune in to see Slim... Setup a trailer, cook a meal, install a new latch, clean up trash in the woods... You keep being you, I'll keep watching!! Keep up the great content!
Slim, I started watching your RUclips channel because I was interested in an Aliner. After watching your channel & subscribing, it isn't because of your Aliner. It is because it is you and your personality. Regardless what you do, watching your channel relaxes me. Keep up the great job!!

“Aliner to Alaska”. You should contact Aliner and pitch the idea that they sponsor you to haul a new off-road unit up to Alaska and back, and allow you to feature it live on your RUclips channel.
I would watch your videos regardless of whether you were travelling on foot or in a Winnebago! What draws me in is your personality and the absolutely fabulous quality of your video editing, framing, sound quality and humour. My wife and I both look forward to your videos and I hope you keep us entertained for many years to come. Be safe. 🖒🖒
In the end it doesn’t matter what direction you go Slim. We’re captivated by your style not your content necessarily. We feel like we are vacationing with a good friend.
I'd be fine with you running around the wilderness on a horse, even if its just a horsehead on a stick between your legs, I don't care. I watch you for your philosophy in life which you so articulately weave into your nature videos. So godspeed Slim try anything YOU want...there's enough of us who will keep watching your videos because it's what WE want. Content is determined by character and coming to know you this last year or so I know I'll watch your content in ANY FORM.
Out of all the “living on the road” channels out there yours are by far the best. Supreme production quality, innovative, entertaining, humor , you’ve got it all. I’ve lost interest in the other channels. Your king of the hill in my book. Safe travels friend.
You are always so courteous and respectful to us viewers. I wish you well as you ponder which type of videos you will make in the weeks ahead, while you consider what type of trailer you will buy for your future. We appreciate you and enjoy your videos!
Burr the last time I went camping in November I had to share the woods with hunters, it was scary to realize how much they drank in the evenings during the hunt. I’m looking forward to watching your amazing videos wherever you may roam - - - Slim goes to Europe - - - Slim in South America- - - Slim wherever will be exciting to watch.
One of the reasons I like your videos is that you aren't like all the others on You Tube. I always enjoy seeing what you are doing. It always amazes me where you manage to get that trailer to.
The look on your face when you heard the gunshots was priceless. Of course I would have been recording down on the floor hiding and wondering how I would fix the bullet holes.
Enjoy yourself, share the adventure, and I'm sure you will appeal to a variety of viewers. I certainly enjoy your humor as well as your eye for the peace and tranquility of the world around you. Safe travels!
I love watching your videos for you, not for your trailer. Regardless of what you do next, I am confident that you will continue to tell interesting stories in your unique manner. So I look forward to your ongoing adventures and appreciate your sharing them with us.
just as an aside, my honey and I are past the age and ability to hike into the wilderness, so just getting there with a small trailer is a great tutorial for us.
Another fun moment in the woods. I’ll watch you explore the world! Your voice is soothing and your cheeky humor is wonderful. Take us with you in your pocket! Peace
I really enjoyed this video. Your approach to things mechanical is interesting and informative. You see things from a slightly different angle than most people and the ingenious solutions you came up with are delightful! I've had to pleasure of knowing and working with a couple of people in my past who were like you in that respect and the ideas that they would come up with were amazing. Thanks for a great video Slim!
The only advice I can give is just keep being true to yourself. I’ll still be here waiting to see the next Slim Potatohead adventure what ever that may be. Please continue.
Waited for your video since like eternity, i really love your videos and wish one day i could go out and camp. But never the less love you man! Can't wait to see this video. I know i am commenting before watching. But as soon as i get free ill see it. Cheers
Your videos are great because of who you are and the wisdom you share with us. Seeing life thru your eyes is enjoyable and educational. Your activities are just a plus. Continue being you and do what ever appeals to you....but remember to bring us alone :)
Slim thanks for the update 🤔 I'm sure you've thought your options over and I for one am going to wait with as much patience as I can to see your next chapter
Love your videos! I'll continue to watch them, no matter what you do. I think the real value that you bring to your viewers, like me, is not just the nuts & bolts of what you do & where you go, but your whole approach to traveling & enjoying life. Your current travel setup is awesome, but there are other low-impact, frugal, & minimalist ways to travel, as well. Long distance travel via Amtrak or even Greyhound, with easily transported kit including backpacking gear & maybe a bicycle or electric bicycle for transportation when you arrive. Modern nomadic lifestyle. The opportunities are endless. Looking forward to your next chapter!
They work because there's a lot of force pushing the flapper open every time you give it revs. A wood stove has a constant flow of low-pressure exhaust and will most likely not be able to push with enough force to open it. Add to that, you need the pipe completely open when you start a fire or you'll smoke yourself out of your trailer, which means you'd have to keep the flapper open anyway. He could just take a cheap galvanized pipe cap and wrap chicken wire around it as well. Add to that, rain is really only an issue when you're not running your stove since the heat will instantly turn it into steam. Heck, a 90 degree pipe at the top with a 45 degree angle cut would stop the rain as well.
I love your videos and I feel like this channel is truly about your spirit of creativity, adventure, and positive and curious nature! The trailer is just a means to an end. I'm pretty sure everyone will keep watching and making positive comments whatever you do and wherever you do it! No shame in getting to the end of a project and starting fresh with something new.
Yes!!! Go for the new trailer if you like. You definitely deserve it and it will be 'kinda like starting all over again. Go for it Slim.....It'll be fun for you! And....I think the backpacking idea with filming is a GREAT idea.....variety and something new! Good Luck Slim.......
Love your adventures, Camper or not. I found your channel about a month ago looking for a frame camper reviews. Now I think I have seen almost all you have posted. Its not about the camper. you have a way of telling a story and your passion for nature comes through. Came for the camper stayed for the personality. I'll be here watching whatever adventures you go on. Keep living life the way you do. It's an inspiration to many that you dont have to have the newest and best to live your own dreams.
I agree. Seems like a lot of other commenters would like to see Slim convert a cargo trailer as well. I'm considering doing one myself. Seems like every pre-built travel trailer I look at has too many things about it I'd like to change. So I may as well start from scratch.
Slim, I watch your videos to share your adventures and see a bit of the world through your eyes. Your trailer and your DIY mods have been interesting but they are not, IMO, the key to what makes your videos interesting. It is your storytelling ability that I most appreciate. Your honest description of your ideas, experiments, and experiences are what make it seem like I am coming along for the ride rather than just getting a canned report. I would welcome your sharing your new adventures, wherever and however they take you. Please just don't radically change your honest storytelling style.
Do what you do best Slim! I don't want to disappoint you but I've honestly loved your work for your humor & beautiful photography not so much the A-frame. Just keep making stunning videos, visiting off the beaten path places and giving me a good giggle every now and then and you'll do just fine. Just be you!
A friend of mine gets a hatchet and breaks up a full size log. Then wraps the chunks in newspaper. Not ideal for a wood stove in a trailer but that's what he does for his home fireplace
And that’s the difference between a Canadian and an American. Canadian sees bear prints... no big deal. Hears gun fire... becomes concerned. An American hears gun fire... no big deal. Sees bear prints... becomes concerned. 😱
Think a lot depends on where the American lives. In Montana, Alaska, here in the California Sierra, bear, cougar tracks outside our place are the norm, as are hearing gun fire since we hunt. It's the two legged animal that can cause us problems.
Just do what you want to do and be yourself. If you want a new trailer, then get one! If you want to do videos without a trailer that's cool too. I'll continue watching whatever you do. Cheers!
Maybe a small sailboat there’s a lot of lakes and shoreline and islands that you could explore kind of slim potato head swashbuckling pirate although I’m not sure what swashbuckling is
I’m sure I will likely enjoy whatever you choose to do next, just like listening to your presentation! Do whatever you feel like doing, I’m along for the ride!
You have entered that sweet spot on viewership, where you can do other things and most will follow. I have been trying to build my channel for several years now and although I enjoy doing hiking videos my viewership is mostly in the A frame mods. So enjoy the fruits of your labor and do new things, I hope to also do new things on my channel once I get more viewers.
What ever adventure, where ever you go we'll be along for the trip. Backpacking is always an adventure. I've being doing it off and on for 40 years. Major improvements in gear over the years and nothing like being in the middle of nowhere with only yourself to depend on.
Note from Slim Potatohead: Love your suggestions on new trailers, but please... NO LINKS!!! They get stuck in a filter and I have no time to check if they are legit. Please just include the name and brand, I will Google it. Thanks! SP
On another note do what you want to do, your true fans will stick by you with whatever you decide to do in your life your videos are great to watch for people that don't get out that often...:)
Hi Slim, have you thought about buying a cargo trailer and converting into your own camper? You seem to be pretty resourceful and talented with making stuff, it would make for a great video series as well. Also since your Aframe is pretty much done for, you could always salvage components off of it and use it in a conversion camper, such as the windows, door, bed, counter, etc. Just a thought. Anyway I really enjoy watching your videos, you re a free spirit and an inspiration .Cheers.
I'd love to see you experiment with adventures. The trailer isn't why we love you, it's your personality and style.
Agreed, Volvo09
Agree
Agreed, Agreed! Yes, and your ingenuity and drive at designing a fix for something.
Lmao wtf 😂
Agreed
I think most people watch your videos for the serenity you prrovide, not because of the trailer you have. Keep doing what your soul desires - you help us mend our own.
Go, be yourself, and be sure to bring us along!
I agree we all want to go with you so please more videos
Agree totally, MBA

You have a lot of us that wait for your new installment every week . No matter what you do your faithful viewers will be here waiting .
Only a brave man would try "fermented rope" a second time :)
John Smith You gave me a good laugh.........
Spoiler - it's Barnacle Beer
Had to hold my gag reflex...shudder.
I'm guessing it was a Mickey's beer. Cheap and nasty.
Have you tried pouring the beer in a glass? Some beers are better poured!
I watch because you are a genuinely entertaining presenter and a likable relatable guy. I dont care what you choose to travel in.
Like if you always wait for Slim's video at the start of the week.
The people of You Tube Land love watching a new build out of a van, empty trailer, or gutting out something older. Even you bringing us along as you pick out and buy a new rv, trailer, etc. and customizing would be great to watch.

Definitely would love to see this!!

You're pretty handy, how about building a trailer the way you want it? Maybe start with a cargo / box trailer and go for it. You could do a lot with a 6x12 trailer.
The big problem with building my own is how to build and travel at the same time. It would have to be a collaboritive effort. Thanks! SP
Good idea!

Or ... not.
Anything that offers protection from BEARS 🐻 and that is easy on aging bones.
I was gonna say he's gonna do like the Jeep and get a slightly newer A-liner lol
The content is what we are here for. Changing it up is never a bad thing. We recently purchased a scamp 13 and are enjoying it.

My question is How does one know what "fermented rope " tastes like in the first place? Keep up the good that you do!!
It's similar to belly button lint beer. No taste test needed! SP
I thought it was a small beer with a twist.

Tip: a homemade fine mesh chicken wire sleeve that goes on top of the stove pipe works great as a spark arrestor.
How about a flapper trap like a tractor. Keep out rain

No backpacking!! It so much fun watching you with the trailer. We no you can’t last forever, but please , NO BACKPACKING !!
You are brilliant, you think of every detail to make things more efficient and safe. 🤗 That bear hunter concerned me too.
Excellent video again Slim! I think a change up would be great, backpacking videos are awesome! Take care!
Yes!!! Go for the new trailer if you like. You definitely deserve it and it will be 'kinda like starting all over again. Go for it Slim.....It'll be fun for you! And....I think the backpacking idea with filming is a GREAT idea.....variety and something new! Good Luck Slim.......

Just keep making stunning videos, visiting off the beaten path places and giving me a good giggle every now and then and you'll do just fine. Just be you!
Colorado trailers makes some good off road enclosed trailers.
Whatever direction you choose - just keep posting videos! They're always spot on. All the best from Wales, UK.
Your supposed to light the packaging on the fire starter, not open it up and break it apart. The paper wrapping starts the block.
Perhaps he wanted to go with the Crazy Russian Hacker approach just for fun.
I was thinking the same thing 😁
I've done both ways. Breaking it up makes it last longer. It's great for starting damp wood that needs a little help.
A friend of mine gets a hatchet and breaks up a full size log. Then wraps the chunks in newspaper. Not ideal for a wood stove in a trailer but that's what he does for his home fireplace
You do you slim, be yourself and we will keep watching. Keep up the good work.
are you even old enough to be drinking that beer. lol thanks for the video
The legal age for fermented rope is a lot lower! SP
You have my vote for new ideas. It will be just as enjoyable as these ones.
And that’s the difference between a Canadian and an American.
Canadian sees bear prints... no big deal. Hears gun fire... becomes concerned.
An American hears gun fire... no big deal. Sees bear prints... becomes concerned. 😱
Excellent point, Wendy!
Haha! Exactly...
I'm American and was thinking the exact same thing. LOL
LOL Wendy!
Think a lot depends on where the American lives. In Montana, Alaska, here in the California Sierra, bear, cougar tracks outside our place are the norm, as are hearing gun fire since we hunt. It's the two legged animal that can cause us problems.
People don’t just watch for the A liner. It’s you man your a story teller and will come along anywhere you go.
A cargo trailer conversion would be very interesting. You could have a whole series of videos on the conversion.
👣✌️
Do what the soul tells you 🙏🍀
In Yuma this winter here
You have entered that sweet spot on viewership, where you can do other things and most will follow. I have been trying to build my channel for several years now and although I enjoy doing hiking videos my viewership is mostly in the A frame mods. So enjoy the fruits of your labor and do new things, I hope to also do new things on my channel once I get more viewers.
I use hand sanitizer from the dollar store to start my wood pellets...works every time
What ever adventure, where ever you go we'll be along for the trip. Backpacking is always an adventure. I've being doing it off and on for 40 years. Major improvements in gear over the years and nothing like being in the middle of nowhere with only yourself to depend on.
I'd love to see you build a trailer
Don’t care about the trailer. It’s the adventure and travel that’s important. That being said, I’d love to see backpacking adventures.
As an avid backpacker, I'd love to see some backpacking videos. The Grand Canyon is a cool place to backpack in the late spring and early fall.
Yes backpack videos yes mate
I'm sure I'd watch his backpacking videos, Mark.
And Utah is beautiful year round as well as Arizona. We know Slim doesn't mind the cold or snow.
Thanks for letting us taking part in your oven-bang-hunter-whoaa-firestarter-njomnjom-noodle-day!
For tasting beer in the wilderness you gotta be outside silly! :p
I'll watch you no matter if you change some things or not! Just do what makes you happy!
Note from Slim Potatohead: Love your suggestions on new trailers, but please... NO LINKS!!! They get stuck in a filter and I have no time to check if they are legit. Please just include the name and brand, I will Google it. Thanks! SP
you should maybe try a directional chimney cap
Peter Lecuyer very interesting idea. It would certainly give Slim topics for many videos! And he has the capability of building a trailer.
At Slim, Appalachian trail
You are slim the nature guy, not the aliner guy. We will watch whatever you post and enjoy it!
