If funding for the park to do improvements is difficult and time consuming - could it be possible for a quicker process if people like you, Daniel and other area farmers volunteer to come in and do the improvements to the old pasture? You and Daniel have all the attachments to get rid of the cedar trees and overgrown brush.

Love the video and interview and always the time and effort put into bison conservation.
Around the 9:00 mark I was curious about the genetic "purity" of the heard. I have read that there are only 7 pure genetic roaming herds. So Idk if that means any private? Also read only 2 are brucellosis free.
I have always been fascinated about the preservation of pure herds and if there is any or more of an effort to increase these herds.

Bison have always been one exciting sight and one rare one where I used to live. I lived in Edmonton, Alberta and just outside of that is a huge area put aside for the bison and elk to roam and grow. A good part of it runs along a highway and so you might see a group of them feeding along it. This place has been running for like 50 or 60 years now and today I think they are big enough to market the meat of them. I know they have sent some out to various areas like Russia and the US. Thats just the areas I know of. Elk National Park is the place to go and see really huge bison.

Having Bison feed ranging here in N Ga mtns would be awesome! I'd love to see them. A preacher back in the 80's had some Bison and they mixed with a couple of his cows and had Beefalo... Preacher processed one of the young ones and that was some Great tasting Steaks! He of course, built stronger fences and kept them separated after that accident. 1 bison, 2 cows that had 2 bulls which were both processed.... His son still has his Bison... Thanks Dusty! Glad these guys respect you! Are you ever considering maybe being part of the harvest host program or just allow maybe overnight boondocking where people can spend the night then the next day get a tour and education about your own program and buy meat and gifts on the property? I know there can be issues with that but with maybe wavers signed and strict rules and supervised only tours it would be feasible. Reservations a must of course. I admire so much what ranchers and farmwrs do plus this added bonus of prserving and utilizing a true heritage from the past. Just a thought as I enjoy so much seeing what you all are doing with your animals.
