The Ponderosa is looking amazing. I can't wait until the Bison get to rotate out to other portions. It is so funny watching the Bison leap frog for their spot for the cubes. Then there is Big Joe 😅 he walks up so casual/ nonchalant. "I'm coming over here because I want to, not because you called me"

    Hey Dusty
We use a piece of chain link fence as a harrow. Hook it to a pipe on two sides. Throw a chain on it. Add a little weight and you should be good to go. Inexpensive and works great.

Sad that freezing weather is back here in the South. All our Trees are budding and Bloomed out and flowers to. The freezing cold will kill them all, once again! All my Pear trees, Dogwoods are in full bloom and beautiful as they line the driveway and all around my house and in the woods! Simply Beautiful! Tonight n Tomorrow night we're going down in the 20's and yep, they'll all be dead. I hate it. Even my flowers n bushes! Your land looks so pretty and good. Huge difference from a year ago Dusty! You've worked your butt off making it better! Mine's covered in hardwoods but I don't have Bison. Beautiful clean woods with hardly any underbrush. Just some wild Blueberries for the Deer n Birds n other animals to eat. I won't cut them out. Bushes remain smaller n full of berries for my wildlife! So many deer cross here and herd through my front yard! I call them my babies! They love what grows naturally here on my land. I also feed them during the winter! They're my Babies and are use to us. They don't run when we go out to see them and I love that! So many triplets and twins the past 4 years! Never saw so many triplets in my life! Gorgeous animals! I Hate hearing gun shots way off in the distance! I know somebody is killing my babies! 🙁😢 Great Job you've done Dusty for the Bison! God Bless. 🙏❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸

And you planted seedlings also where old fencing was . And of course you Oklahoma state tree bidding blooms of flowers in March and getting ready for Easter weekend . That's wonderful . If a cold freeze doesn't show up in that area. That can stunt the blossom growth . IAM hopefuk they will bloom beautiful like the grasslands you burned with controlled burning. Months ago . Congratulations on that new grass growth. And pond with water too .that's awesome . As it was dry for a few years . Weather changes help. Enjoy your gate work with Richard your friend .

My family always taught us not to plant our spring plants until after Easter. We ALWAYS have an Easter spell. As a young adult, I thought that was everywhere, but I finally woke up to apparently that is in southern Oklahoma. Other areas have their final cold spell later, others sooner. Our knowledge of this was passed down from our Choctaw heritage.

Charlotte NC area. We have strawberries ready to harvest in two weeks. We are about a month ahead of normal in temperature. Now this week we have freeze warnings. We can get freezes in April also. The danger with already having such warm temperatures is that the peach trees blossom and early crops get damaged by the freezes. That can put a dent in the economy.

We were down over 12 inches of rain/moisture going into the summer here in NW Iowa last year. So we totally understand how dry it was. We have had moisture this winter, more so that the previous. But we have a long way to go this year still.

Keep the trees mate. It is good for animals during bad weather and also stop erosion. I'm struggling on my farm because most trees were removed years ago. Will also be cover for the deer and other animals. You will also have more water on the farm with more trees around. I try to not graze one paddock a year. It makes a huge difference seeing the grass return and grass seeding naturally.
Also have you done any reading on tree lucerne?
Amazing plant that can take heat and cold
You can graze animals every 40+ days on the trees
Planting a few paddocks now in tree lucerne

I've used chain link fence and a few 8x8x12 concrete blocks resting on a 2x4.. worked great to sow grass!
