More new red dogs!! Very nice! Wonderful, being able to track and control the genetics like that. Speaking of, I wonder if Eleanor's genetics includes weakness of the horns? Little Nora does seem very chill, just like her mama is.
The pastures are looking great. The ponds are looking great. The creek is looking great. The Bison are looking great. And little Jackie and Maya are looking great.
Creek fencing. A thought, Dusty. On either bank, anchor a STOUT metal post from pipe, making certain they're plumb and anchored in with concrete. These should be taller than everything else. Take gate sections and weld them together to span the distance between the poles. Connect them to the poles with rollers which ride the poles vertically. At the bottom of the gates, have sealed up barrels welded to the bottom of the gates to use as floats. As the creek rises, the fence (gates) rises. As the creek drops, the fence drops. Rollers top/bottom on each side, and stagger outboard/inboard of the poles to keep the fence (gate) sections connected/parallel to the posts. Small panels welded at angles to follow the angle of the bank could be stationary to compensate for raising/lowering fence. The stationary angled panels should remain separate from the steel poles/floating section.

A couple of weeks ago, in Ark City, KS, we tracked down a bison 🦬 herd with the help of a gentleman obviously on his way to go fishing. After flagging him down, he graciously said to follow him and he’d show us where the bison were. North of a cemetery older than the Civil War, we got to see a guy in a skid steer widening out a pond. Here comes the big bull, not the least bit intimidated by that piece of machinery, checking out the pond changes, so much like Big Joe, in charge. Leaving a note in a plastic bag attached to the owner’s fence, he was asked if he knew you. Not having heard from him isn’t a surprise. He a busy man! Perhaps you will hear from him. Nice way to spend a Saturday morning, watching a guy taking care of a small, but growing herd of America’s largest mammal. Thanks for sharing.😊

I didn’t know how to send you my concern, I was reading and article about a cute red dog bison in Yellowstone that was struggling to get across the river to his mama, a man went to the waters edge to help baby out of the water. They actually put the calf down because they felt like the mother would reject the baby now?? Just wondering what your thoughts are, could they have given the calf to a rescue? Instead ? So many more options for the poor thing

I love that Dunbar is a grandpa and its a girl.💕 And Big Joe's older. This is perfect to see how she turns out, she already is cute as a button. 🦬

Either an Air BnB in the barn or you are building a house for yourselves at the Ponderosa property, maybe both. You ought to have someone on site all the time with that many animals there.

Thanks so much for answering the question about twins. I like how you care for all your animals, land and enteraction between your family and friends. I see other bison ranches on video and they do not have that sweet, kind, caring towards all concerned that sets your ranch apart from the rest. It's really good.

Nice video, Dusty I have a question you can answer on another video down the road you said you don't want heifers to be bred back to their father's so these heifers that come from Big Joe are they going to the Dunbar herd or will they go up for sale, thanks in advance 👍

So happy that the bison are all safe and healthy. Big Joe is looking more bulky than he was when you all worked the bison. Hopefully he continues to put weight back on. Love how curious he is and he loves them cubes. Can’t wait for the newest updates. I sure wish I could spend a day bison watching. Seeing them out on the big 80 acres is seriously special. Back where their ancestors once called home. Dusty, you and Marissa and Kevin have really made a life to be proud of. It’s alot of work for sure. But man, it is magical!

Using cubes gives you a level of control that would would never have otherwise, it greatly benefited you when the herd was out.
