I am a Roman Catholic and I agree whole heartedly with this statement. Let us pray, dear brother, that we might some day enjoy the unity with one another that Christ prayed for.
Спасибо брат за это прекрасны видео.Мы имеют одна религия, и та же кровь и душу, и мы всегда быть братья.Да здравствует мати Россия!Бог благословит вас.Господи, помилуй!Привет из Сербии и Черногории.
for something so beautiful all we get are these sordid comments. People, the chants and the music come from both the tradition and the experience of faith. Can't we just celebrate the beauty of that? Too many people died because of believing in God already. I just want to hear people hope back and sing back what God has given, love.
This has so bizantine influence. I realize when I was visiting romania, that the singers modulates to bizantine styles. It was realy great. thanks for posting. I invite you to watch our choir, from chile, singing bizantine hymns. See you.
Byzantines and Byzantium was invented in the XVI century to conceal the truth. Look for the truth, it is simple and unique, you will know when you find it, trust me. Always question, always doubt, for every answered question and every disproven doubt brings you closer to the truth. Apply this universal principle to all "knowledge" you are served, and to that knowledge which you dug ot from some obscure source: Always take everything with a grain of salt, but also with a grain of sugar. Pomoz Bog! - God helps!
A beautiful chant, and again it has attracted all the "history experts", who compete here esp. in condemning America (I am far from praising headlessly everything American but ...). Nonetheless, this is so beautiful that it it is worth listening to more times.
Yes, this particular Serbian chant is impossible to find on CDs of the Valaam choir available outside Russia but I managed to get hold of it on a compilation CD from the choir themselves when they visited Oxford in 2004. It’s been great to discover actual video footage of the choir singing it in Washington.
It's in Church Slavonic, actually. This choir is from Russia. "Serbian chant" refers to the melody rather than the content. The words are "We magnify Thee, O Lifegiver Christ, who for our sake now art baptized in the flesh by John in the waters of the Jordan"
That my friend, was an Emperor killing people (secular governor). Whether he is considered saint is irrelevant to the fact that Orthodox Church never made its policy to persecute those who think differently. Emperor killed them because they bothered his rule, not because he was defending The Church, and he is a saint for other reasons - ones where he really did defend The Church and Christians.
Never heard of a single thing you mention there, but even if it does you also admit hierarchs protest it (whether you are satisfied with amount of their protest is your problem - you said protest exist - fact).
Who gives a shit? Damn, this was put up to listen to the music, not to argue about religion. Love the solo singer by the way!!! Hes sounds so... haunting and nice...
And again I repeat - Orthodox Church never made its policy to persecute those who think differently. Fact that some emperors, clergyman or faithful persecuted others in no way represents The Church. As you probably know - for Orthodox no one is infallible except Christ. Rest of us, be it Saints, Patriarchs or whoever are just sinners and most certainly prone to sin. I will repeat it, The Church never organized itself to persecute others - something that both Protestants and RCs did.
@SerbianTerrorist99 The Americans are not the worst killers in history, there have been many civilizations that have done worse than them. Besides, can't a sinner, whether a group or an individual, repent/convert to Orthodoxy? Just as the Good Thief. The Lord will judge accordingly, yes?
@Nemanja1475 I hope that is not what happens, coming from an American. The traditional Patriarchates should not be overruled by any american kind, and i hope if America does become Orthodox, it does not become nationalistic with it, but instead stays true to the traditions.
So none of you self-professed critics of the Church Gospels and Ancient Writers can appreciate the music; only grouse about meaningless timing of the writers. Who cares? To be Orthodox here is to live in the music. Stop you "intellectual" arguing and sit back to enjoy the voices. A pox on all your houses!
Veryyyy beautifull
Преубаво

And you know that we will always be with Romania brother.
I can't find any more videos of these guys, any body else seen any on youtube?
There are many other choirs that you can find.
Like this one for example - Праздничного хора Свято-Елисаветинского монастыря в Санкт-Петербурге
If you like Serbian chants then try this - "Pavle Aksentijevic - Serbian orthodox chant, Jaroslaw, 2009"
Please add translation in english!

May I correct you, there were Bibles translated into German before Luther made his translation.

Si la iglesia fuera de verdad así como lo muestra este video, yo iría todos los domingos.

Muy bonito si señor ... el ingles sobra , mejor en español , el idioma del futuro , que para eso el español es la segunda lengua , no el ingles ,
lol
Bože......
I just want to say this sounds beautiful, but I am not religieus in any way. I
pravoslavjanec are the last hope for the original church.
Inquisition??? Taking the Aboriginal and Alaskan natives children from their parents?? Does that tell you something?
@SerbianTerrorist99 Worst killers in history? Please open a history book before talking.

That's no good. It's mocking the real traditions.
What is mocking the real traditions ?
This is the real tradition dummy
