Mat and Josh gave a great description of the nocebo effect. CrossFit is full of companies preying on your anxiety

To be fair, I don't think this is unique to CrossFit. But you're right. That said, these tools can also definitely help track trends and patterns over time. Fixating on a single data point can obviously be detrimental, especially in this example

As long as your testosterone range falls within the normal distribution,Your ability to recover, gain strength, or build muscle, is no different whether you are at the low end of normal or high end of normal.

Josh, many vets are low and need HRT. May come from all the plastic bottles of water that sat in sun in Iraq or Afghanistan. Normal is to drop 1.6%/yr after age 30.

Could it have more to do with the stress of living in a war zone?

I don’t want to call them cheats because obviously everybody at the games takes steroids, but that little pause after the question as asked was damning lol
