    I'm from the USA, but I used to play remote controlled Japanese crane games through Toreba. I did win a decent number of small items over the course of a couple of years; several little figurines, a yunomi style teacup, a fan, etc. I generally didn't go for the bigger, more impressive items. They had a system where you got a free play or two each day once you'd bought tokens at least once, and I would often just try my luck and leave if I didn't succeed.
    However after a while they started making it harder and harder to win anything, to the point where I was questioning if some of them could be beaten. The openings you had to drop things into got smaller, and they started attaching extra packaging to some of the smaller items to make them harder to move. I eventually gave up messing with it, and I've heard it only got worse. It's a shame, because it used to be really fun and was the only way for me to play that type of game.

    • @StarrJun
      @StarrJun Год назад +26

      I was a OG with Toreba too but they made it way too difficult to win. The shipping got worse too 🤦🏻‍♂️ When I noticed the claws are weaker I slowly stopped playing it. Not worth the price too cause the figures only retail 20-30 dollars while you spend more trying to win. Nice to know I wasnt the only one noticing this 😅

      @joba9429 Год назад +11

      During covid lock downs I was on toreba a lot, they'd give a fair amount of free play tickets, I'd win often after studying machines a bit or sniping spots after people gave up. It was good times until like you said they started making it unreasonably rigged not too long ago.

    • @LaydiNite
      @LaydiNite Год назад +16

      @@DoobieFerguson The thing is, this one used to be at least possible. The "scam" element initially was just taking advantage of people's impatience and the "one more try" mindset. The nicer prizes were obviously harder to win and usually took way more tries and therefore way more money than they were worth. However the smaller, less impressive items were possible to get now and then through a combo of luck, planning and patience. That stopped being the case later, and even the small prizes became pretty much unwinnable.
