One of the most incredible recordings. So wish there was more. Virtuoso performances all around. Does anyone know the name of piece? But oh, Spoilt by the end being cut off. Surely it would have been no trouble to let it play out fully!? Is it a lack of care, insensitivity, or what?
@mightyafrowhitey As noted in the "tags" section, the mandolin player is the one and only Sam Bush. BTW, did you notice that the producer has the good manners not to include a banjo in this session?
The only thing that would make this better is if the cameraman focused on the musician who was soloing rather than showing us the other players admiring each other or, God help us, the sound man! Sorry for the dig, but please!
sam bush /mandoln mark o'connor /fiddle jerry couglas /dobro buddy emmons on steel Waddaya mean "no emotion"? Because they don't grimace and make faces like the phony rock jocks? It's MUSIC and those guys are about as good as it gets on their respective instruments.
I agree somewhat. The acoustic musicians are playing an advanced bluegrass style on a jazz blues. Probably best to enjoy it for what it is. The violinist though is playing an easy-listening smooth-jazz version of the blues lacking in soul. The bassist is just fooling around.
So nice music, first time I saw Edgar live, great. Very good musicians and they improwise. I love it
WOW! What a room full of talent!! Great Jazz licks on this tune, but then again Emmons is a fabulous jazz player.
What could I say about these fantastic musicians, that hasn't been said yet?
Five million of stars.

OMG, the part at 3:55 just blew my mind into shards.
Great line up - but I think Buddy is still the coolest guy in the room!
I think that's Edgar Meyer on bass. This is awesome stuff bah.

Cold. These guys are "beyond blues" nicely technical, no real emotion.
