i feel cozy seeing vintage pictures
This camera can capture nostalgia
Yea bro
The photos kind of look like they're from a '70's movie
Disagree
@@pain00077 thanks for having your opinion be displayed in a civil manner. Other replies- of a similar opinion -I've seen are somewhat unhinged
*all film captures nostalgia
Film has so much more charm than digital ever could
Fun fact
This is the camera shutter sound used by apple on the iphone whenever you shoot a photo
It's literally the vision of my childhood
Mine too
There is a layer on your eye, if any kind of eye surgery done on your eye that layer will go and you will see like that
Film still exists?! Gorgeous⚘️
I prefer film for photography but I prefer mirror less for astrophotography
Yes! I only do film thinking of jumping to digital soon
@@lazy_panda_plays9970 theres a guy who uses film to shoot astral photography
@@ericespinal9961 who and how? That seems awesome but you can't stack or anything like that
@@lazy_panda_plays9970astral film photography is absolutely a thing and isn't as obsolete as you'd think
Love the AE-1. It was the first film camera my mother gave to me. I still have it, still cherish it. It always serves as a reminder that film has a certain breath of life, a naturalness, and to enjoy the little things of life because they are there for only a moment. That's why photography is great, you can capture those moments if you're good or lucky or maybe a little of both.
I love these rolls. Digital captures are advancements but these are emotions!!😊
Moments Silence:
For all the new Photographers who will most likely never shoot any Film, or possibly even learn manual Photography.
Why you say that
You can still buy film
You do know that you can still buy and get films developed right? And that it's more accessible now than compared to all those years ago whej these cameras and lenses costed thousands, you know that right?
@@tridinh1011 where I live it costs $10 for a roll of film and $20 to get it developed and printed 4x6" that's like a buck a shot my man.
@@user-co6ww2cm9kand you can still buy a camera and shoot a surprising amount of film for less money than you would spend on a new “budget” camera. Self develop after the first few rolls, saves money. You learn more on film too
shooting on film always adds this warmth. or at least thats the way i see it. This warmth is seriously lacking in todays photography and cinematography in my opinion
What you’re seeing is simply people not knowing how to color correct properly or just too lazy to do it properly. Look at photos shot on film in the 80s and 90s, a good photographer is able to get very accurate true to life colors and representation.
Not everyone like warm 😂😂
Dude, just crank up the warm filter
@@Drpftnst How would you do white balance correction? Tinting it with a gel while exposing the paper?
@@potatofuryy kind of. on REALLY old enlargers youd have small color gels for cyan magenta and yellow. each gel would be at a different strenght, you could have a set that say, has gels rated 5, 10, 25 for example and youd combine these gels to correct. Each color paper box will tell you their recommended gels to start off. for example it could recommend 20 Magenta 60 Yellow and 0 Cyan so youd take (2) 10 filters for magenta, (2) 25 and (1) 10 filters for yellow to start off and youd add and subtract colors to get ur desired color balance. Eventually we got color enlager heads which can shift color by turning a dial on how mcuh you want each color without needing to physically add and remove physical gels, but the process of color correcting stays the same.
It somehow brought me back to child memories.I don't really get this feeling very often.
Better quality than my phone 😢
Your phone can take awesome pictures too,its just a different tool that can also take photos like a film camera or a Mirrorless, please dont stop taking photos even if you only have a phone at the moment
@@vaggelispetsopoulos2397why don't stop taking photos? I didn't take photos for 4years now since covid
@@asyraaf3437 There's no need to stifle your interest in photography if it's there. Hardware seems to be a big limitation for people sometimes but it really is only part of the equation for truly enjoying photography
putting a film on that thing is like reloading a gun 😭😭🙏
💀
the pictures are just something idk. feels special and nostalgic.
Its just filters
@@aesric Guess what, those filters are based on film photography.
ah.. good old vintage photography! love this!
WOW , this camera actually take photos better than modern cameras 📷
I want to get into film cameras they look absolutely amazing. But I struggled with the film and understanding it.
Dont give up, its fairly easy to use once you figure it out.
It’s Fairly straight forward once you learn, there is plenty of videos online to help you. When you get comfortable it gets fun! Happy film taking!
Practice on DSLR for a while. I've been shooting (as an amateur) on DSLR for a few years, and when I first used a film camera, besides learning the literal mechanics (DSLRs use a memory card), I had no problem understanding it. Was super nervous how the pics would turn out, but they turned out great! So yeah - learn the basics, practice, then go for it! :)
Yea broskie don’t give up it takes time, but really cool
They’re not worth the price
Now i know where the camera sound effect comes from
Lmfao
@@deletdis6173 Why are you laughing at that? It is obviously accurate
It actually is the exact same sound:
MacOS 7.6 first introduced screenshots. While developing it in 1997, an engineer at Apple, Jim Reekes, decided taking a screenshot should make a sound, and although it was already 20 years old, he still had a Canon AE-1, which just so happened to make the sound he wanted.
Apple just kept that exact same sound for the original iPhone and hasn’t changed it since.
Jim Reekes also made other famous sounds, like the Mac startup sound, which he literally had to sneak into MacOS and fight to keep it until Steve Jobs defended him, 9 years after he first snuck it in.
It is pure photography❤
The fact that progress has given rise to a fundamentally new way to make pictures is incredible
My dad had his old AE-1 from the 80s when he was a college student, we just refurbished it and it works so well! Gives such a nostalgic feeling :)
The old ones had a simple mechanism, but were complicated to operate. I love things that have such complicated operations.
This location is gorgeous. Straight out of a painting!
Do you know the place

This is beautiful.
this feels so surreal
Do you know this place? I want to travel there...
The first picture looks like something made for History.
Unreal colours, especially in the picture of the leaves😮❤
Man that's beautiful this camera can capture nostalgia
This video got me into film photography
Beautiful place. Beautiful bgm
Just sent off my first roll of Kodak 200 gold for devolopment. First film I’ve shot on my AE-1 Program
How is the camera? How did photos come out? I’m looking to get one…. 😊
@@carolina_created I liked them! All depends what lens you have too; I have the 35mm lens that came with it and I thought it was fine. My only regret is that I shot some photos handheld in low light that ended up blurry. Really should’ve had a tripod
@@BenPatrikoverexposure is always the way
@@BenPatriksometimes the blurriness makes the photo even cooler in my opinion

This is more beautiful than now adays camera 😯
My god.......that first photo was gorgeous.
This picture reminds me of a poster my mom put up in the wall, almost 20 years back.
Remember, switching to your second camera is always faster than reloading your first
This, this is my final life gole, to be able to relax in my final days and just be able to go around and take these beautiful pictures with these beautiful vintage and antique cameras, to truly be at peace
I’m glad the pictures were good and that we’re not just applauding color and nostalgia over here.
Damn. Bring me back in time with those filter. I miss the good ol day
I used to have one of these when I was younger and they are everything
Those are the most beautifull photos i've ever seen
The turning Sound feels great.
I had one of these when I was a kid! Gods the nostalgia
I actually want that is just so beautiful.
Yes a moment of silence for a forgotten art we loved and lost
It’s like reloading a gun 😂 but as a photographer i really love film❤
The sounds are tickling ever inch of my soul tbh...
I’ve been watching this on repeat
idl why this calmed me down
You should get the date back for these.
They’re so fun to play with.
Brings back memories...Canon AE-1 Program...black body.😊
This feeling is something else.
Gives the same vibe as reloading a Light Machine Gun
The sound of camera and music❤❤❤
Im currently learning to be a photographer and this is just pure masterpiece, the colors and the picture itself🤩
Wow those are beautiful shots looks like something you'd see in a 60s travel magazine
The little classic touch
I just shot a roll of 1999 Gold 400 on my AT-1. I found the camera untested in a local thrift store for $40.. cleaned it the best I could (lots of fungus in the SC lens) and hoping for the best, taking the film to develop tomorrow. This gives me hope!E
Damn that's actually a very good camera even for 2024
This looks great. Never owned a film camera but my nikon D700 is as close as i can get to film with its color rendering ❤
I am thinking of getting a D700 someday is it truly that close to film?? I mean are the images close to what a film would produce?
It captures aesthetic photos
Ah, Canon AE-1 plus power winder - my first camera back in 1981. The 70 -210 mm was a pretty cool lens.
Im 15 and just bought a yashica matt-124G because digital is expensive, mirrorles digital is more expensive, my cell phone somply wont cut it and becasue film is just like a good record. Its a kind of nastalgia you werent there to have but got a tast of anyway. It being so analog is just amazing.
the beauty in this camera❤
The first was really amazing
These pictures are better than all the modern techie digital cameras.
I ironically only got into film because of a very old camera i had. The frame sizing was weird though and i had to mark the film in a dark room and roll it back up.
Thats how i learned about exposure time, shutter speeds, mixing my developer and stopper etc. i think it was a leica from the 20s, one of the very early cameras to use kodaks film cannisters that let you reload with film in the daylight.
Edit: anyways its because of that, i wouldnt know what to do with say a nikkon f3. 20s photography and 70-80s film and photography technology is so different. It's like driving a model T and then getting into a ferrari testarossa
Its so overwhelming all the shit that you have to start from scratch
Ordered an Olympus om2n as my first SLR yesterday, can’t wait!
It give the same vibes as a painting ❤❤❤
Just some vibrant colours ❤❤
Took photography class in high school. But the school couldn’t afford digital cameras and computers back then. So we had to do black and white film; couldn’t afford color film either. It was fun learning about film over doing digital.
En el 2004 y 2005 yo le tomaba muchas fotos a mi hijo con esas cámaras ❤
This is my view when I was a kid, Why cant I appreciate it when I was young?
This is so calming😌
Gosh... Just love all these cameras
Ever i like to go back to my childhood
It will be the best reload animation ever
I love film photography. The problem is the cost of the film, the inconvenience, bad quality and cost of developing and scanning the negatives at a high resolution
I dont know why but seeing this guy reload an old camera with a film cartridge is oddly satisfying
Your videos are honestly my inspiration to start my hobby in photography
Not many people know but this is actually the camera that the iPhone shutter and screenshot sound came from!
"Thank you for sharing your perspective through these amazing ideas. Your content always brightens my day! 🌈
damn the colors look good
I love the way film looks! I xray welds for a living on film and i like to make pinhole cameras from a box and take pictures. I only get black and white though.
I'm still amazed that film is made for these
The AE-1 was the first camera I ever had with electronics in it and any kind of automatic exposure control. Before that I used a pre-war cannon model number 2 from my dads ww2 deployment
First one looks like a painting! Cool😊!
It's all about skills camera doesn't matters❤
I remember i had this camera when i was like 7 or 8 yo my uncle gifted it to me😢😢 it felt nostalgic
The thing that has a camera is really rare and also the camera has right now is really really rare. Also the cameras really old-school and I like the way the camera takes the picture. There is a really good camera and you should keep it do it because it worked for a lot of money but the same time you should keep it.
I miss my AE-1 everyday. I ended up giving it to my ex as a Christmas present because she wanted to learn photography. She never got me anything for Christmas or my birthday, not even a “it’s the thought that counts” type of gift. And she never used it while we were together.
When I left her I was packing my shit so fast I forgot to steal it back from her.
I try telling myself it was just a material item and I could always get another one. But that camera reignited my creativity for photography. So many happy memories of friends and family were caught on that camera.
Now here I am with a brand new Sony mirrorless camera and it doesn’t make me feel anything. Sure the photos and video are clinically crisp and detailed. But the character of that old AE-1 with its occasional light leakage and mechanical sounds just made me feel something that I haven’t been able to find again.
That’s an interesting story I have to say
Bro please isn't there a way to get it back? I understand that it was a gift and its kind of awkward to take it back but this camera is full of memories for you and i know that getting a "same one" is not the same as the one you had.Sorry if it wasn't appropriate to say i just understand what you mean and i feel the same about my camera too. Take care!
Oh man I still remember when those were around
Just bought my childhood dream camera, the Eos 1 , today equivalent to $3.5k i paid (no grip) $8 usd plus shipping(no grip ebay),tested, working, bought and added high speed big grip separately, it is in 98% condition, cannot wait to shoot it, film is back! (In the same way ev cannot kill the soul of gasoline vintage cars)
just a reminder go buy some film when every you can. keep up the supply.
Loving old is gold
So Beautiful.So Nostalgic.
Vejo essa máquina fotográfica me fez lembrar de um passado tão distante minha mãe já falecida minha irmãzinha pequena que saudades dos dias dourados que vivi nos anos 80
