I love your knowledge and enthusiasm Dr. L! I would love to see Nurse L do the recipe segments on her own. Sometimes your energy overwhelms her input. She is knowledgeable and experienced on her own. She has alot to offer moms of young kids that are trying to feed the kids good food. She has something to say AND she can sing and dance😉 Please make some videos that feature HER perspective!😊 Thanks!!
I learned from my Asian friends to remove the seeds for those with a but of sensitive gut. Cucumber, crab meat, rice vinegar, sesame oil and a bit of sweetener is a fabulous salad.
You had me until the sweetener was added. I make an AMAZING salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, artichoke hearts, garbanzo beans, a bit of red onion, 4 minced garlic cloves, the juice of a lemon, vinegar and fresh herbs... or use Italian herbs w/ sea salt & pepper! So yummy!
My Grandma used to make this yummy dish Clabbered Milk and Cucumbers. Cucs- salted and laid on towel a while, clabbered milk or butter milk, hard boiled eggs, red onion.
My grandparents had 8 kids so they had THE largest garden. So us grandkids came along and we were raised on these garden foods. Strawberries were the biggest side of the garden. They had black walnut trees as well. And my memories of walking into my grandparents house and my grandpa cracking trays and trays of walnuts for homemade Christmas candy. The onions and cucumbers with vinegar YES! Also radishes in the gallon ice cream buckets! That is so funny that you done that too.😂
Yeras ago I had Ukranian neighbors from the old country. We got along well and I benefited from the best old country cooking. I loved the pickles so much!
I keep that cucumber salad in my fridge ALL THE TIME. I do use regular sugar but only 1/2 cup to 2qts of water plus 1 cup of vinegar that has the "Mother".. It's only me but I eat about 10 to 15 slices every day. LOVE it.
Making these today but... adding a bit more seasoning... 2 cloves garlic peeled, or more depending on preference, lightly smashed just to crack the clove 1 bunch of dill add to a large Mason Jar, cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.😋
This is one of our family's favorite ways of eating cucumbers but we do equal amounts of water and sweetener...no water needed because the vinegar draws the water out of the cucumbers making more liquid. We also add 1-2 tablespoons of celery seeds. I have a bowl in the fridge now for dinner tomorrow!
Hi from Tx looking at your cucumber segment tip I cut the cucumber in slices leaving some of the skin on I put them in a container of white vinegar with a cup of water a little sea salt pepper and onion. We eat them all the time it’s a favorite ❤️
Sliced cucumber, sweet onion, chayote squash, ACV, coconut aminos, salt & pepper...my go to "bring a dish to share" for all summer get togethers...so light and refreshing...it's always the first dish to go empty 😋
@CH-hm8ud No, I do not cook the chayote...just peel off the skin and slice thin. The outer skin is edible but a little bitter, so I peel it off. Also, cut in half and spoon out the inner seed before slicing.
To get rid of bitterness, My sister cuts off an end piece(like a disc) of a garden cucumber, then puts it back together and rubs it for awhile and it creates a white froth. Then you wash that off and do it again until it stops frothing, and it seems fine after that.
Thank you so much for your educational books & videos! Even though i ordered ur book been too busy to read but after reading your reminder emails & watching this videos i will make time to learn more! Regards & once again thank you
I’m watching the half skin on and off and what I do instead to break up the toughness of the skin is rake a fork down the length of the cucumber all the way around and it’s amazing. Much smaller skin pieces and when sliced the little cucumber discs look really pretty.
Growing up, we always had quick pickled cukes especially in the summer. Just ACV and water... not alot... something to just pick on during the day. Think I will head to the kitchen & make some ... ☺ 😋 Oh, my mom made THE BEST Bread n Butter pickles with onions and peppers... to die for. Gram's picallily... ADDICTIVE!!!
Cucumbers are delicious. I always make them in a bowl sliced with vinegar onion, and sometimes a little tomato diced in there with a little pepper salt very little and sometimes I put a little like maybe a teaspoon of Stevia in it the next day they are delicious.
Your body needs salt! Insulin is going to be the problem. Work on decreasing insulin! And increasing healthy fat intake, 3-6 servings per day! (: -LGD Team
Had problems with cukes...they make me burp-y. Learned to seed the standard cukes. At one time, English cukes were known as burpless because they supposedly have no seeds. So I switched and I don't have problems with them. If I can't get them here, I still seed the standard ones. Green smoothies do help heal the gut. Now I have less issues...unless I binge on them (because, well, sometimes you just can't get enough of their yumminess), I don't have too much trouble with them now. BTW ...Raw organic ACV is great for a cuke salad. Less acidic bite than white vinegar, so I don't mind if it darkens the dressing a little. I will take the goodness of raw ACV anytime. And I make my salad with thinly sliced red onions to add some color.
@Dr.Livingood i love cucumbers and pickles I've veen a part of your team as far as the book and supplements and every video i can find even if i am late watching for the last month and i remember eating these as kids when my granfather and grndma used to make their own bread and butter and regular pickles and I've loved them since a kid even tho i was diagnosed with diabetes at 11 bc i was overweight and the doctors didn't test to see if u was type 2 or 1 so later i found out i was still producing insulin and i believe now i can come off the insulin all together bc i don't eat carbs except for organic foods and some organic fruit. Not much fruit at all and fewer organic bread like daddy dirty bread with rhe seeds you talked about in one video as being good for you. It even good btw. Lol. ❤❤❤ to you and Nurse Livingood and please pray for my 14 year old son who is suffering from fatty liver bc he chooses not to follow the diet i stsrted him on. Please. Thank you so much for all the videos you put out for us to be healthy.

Is there a specific type of cucumber? The reason I ask is because pickling cukes, regular cukes cause my stomach to burn. But hothouse cukes and mini cukes don't.
I like the English cucumber or the mini cukes which seem similar to the English variety or the Armenian cuke. They all have less cucurbitacin in them. , less bitterness, less burping. Hopefully that doesn’t change nutritional value
Here is Nurse Livingood’s Cucumber Recipe: 6 cups thinly sliced cucumbers (2 English cucumbers or 3-4 standard) peeled if using standard cucumber 1/2 organic sweet onion chopped in half 1 cup organic white vinegar 1.5 cup water 1/4 cup organic monk fruit to taste 1.5 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper Mix all ingredients separate from the cucumbers and onions and then combine. Let sit at least 2-3 hours in fridge or overnight. 🙂 - LGD Team
It's the seeds that upset my tummy. I can't afford seedless cucumbers and they're probably GMO. I slice them lengthwise into fourths and remove the seeds from the center prior to slicing or chopping.
I can't believe we have 15 minute videos on why to eat cucumbers. Everyone needs to make a living. This is curing me of seeking healthy ideas from the Internet.
Chopped cucumber, chopped beets, chopped avocado, with a splash of ACV, salt and pepper if desired… so good

I'm eating 2 cucumbers and garlic every meal every day. My triglycerides went down to normal level now, plus your ACV doc!
Worth mentioning again, Remember to buy the organic cukes, since ""roundup ready"" cukes are typically what you will get otherwise!
I purchased Organic Mini cucumbers and add one to my smoothie everyday.

Are dark cherries good for immune health and inflammation in the body
If you juice them does it rid the lectins? I love them just trying to manage as lectins don’t feel good on my tummy. I know they are sooooo good
