    Looking for black beans or chick peas why not opt for the dry bean option and cook them yourself you will get nearly 4X the amount of product or canned beans. You can soak and drain them before cooking them so you don’t have as much starches.

      They are saying take the herbs a DO (or a functional medicine or holistic practitioner recommends). I was shocked at how much info on natural healing was out there that my docs had never ever recommended to me. Now I work with my body using herbs and balancing hormones before resorting to drugs that work against my body to mask a problem and cause another.

      I thought that about DO's also but they are not necessarily natural doctors at all. I just went to one expecting a more natural dr and she was NOT AT ALL. Thank you so much Dr Livingood!! I learned new things again from you!!! I actually do my grocery shopping at Walmart and have every thing delivered to me because I’m 70 years old. I remember giving away Himalayan pink salt to my girlfriend about four years ago because I didn’t understand anything about it. I have been into learning everything I can about naturopathic self-care and just realized how important healthy salt is for elderly people. So many of us walk around dehydrated and don’t understand why we don’t feel quite right. On that note, let me thank you so much for the. Bag of electrolytes. They really make me feel so much better. They are now staple and my daily diet. Sending this note full of my gratitude. I appreciate you.

    Love all the info you give to us, so good. I learned something a year or so ago.that made me sick. They legally allow organic crops to be sprayed at the very end to speed up the drying process. Glyphosate is used in this process called dessication. I hear chickpeas are a prime one. So that was disheartening to find out that my organic chickpeas could still have glyphosate used on them!!!!! Hard to escape chemicals even when you work hard to do so.

    • @crazyratlady3438
      @crazyratlady3438 3 месяца назад

      No, it's not allowed in organic produce at any stage of production. However, it's the non GMO that doesn't guarantee chemical free. Non GMO crops are still sprayed for desiccant purposes. Organic produce can still be accidentally contaminated bc our environment is so contaminated and adjacent non organic farms can impact organic produce but for the most part organic is a much better, far less contaminated product.

    • @crazyratlady3438
      @crazyratlady3438 3 месяца назад

      @@dianab5286they're mistaken. I assume they're mixing up organic and non GMO. It is NOT allowed at any stage in organic produce. However, with non GMO it still may be used and is frequently used as a desiccant as they described.

    Non GMO does NOT guarantee no toxins. Chickpeas are highly contaminated unless organic. Grains and certain nuts should always be organic bc even non GMO is sprayed w glyphosate or other pesticides. The grains are sprayed for desiccant reasons, to dry them out faster before harvesting. Nuts are subject to pesticides, including fungicides and sterilization chemicals. Not all of course but you really have to research the brands practices.

    Love using coconut flour however... it is tricky to use because it really SOAKS UP the liquids you add when baking, and that liquid needs to be replaced in the batter. My Coconut flour pancakes are all coconut flour but, you let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes BEFORE you make your pancakes... it does thicken up just enough and honestly they taste, have the mouthfeel of the REAL THING!!! I make my own blueberry sauce cuz I LOVE BLUEBERRY pancakes. Best BLUEBERRIES to buy are the NOT the cultivated frozen berries... the difference in the nutrient value is THRU THE ROOF... Wild, all natural berries... are the way to go!

It literally has ALL the “real” nutrients (unlike store bought flour with synthetic), it has all the fiber as well. It’s almost the perfect food…it’s only missing A, D and C (I think those were the ones). Also, the Bible speaks of bread quite often and Jesus is referred to as the “bread” of life.

Any of the brands of lite coconut milk I have checked out have water added, which ususally means other weird ingredients show up on the ingredients list. He’s not wrong about the calculation. To determine the amount of carbs (in terms of the number a diabetic would use to calculate the amount of insulin to take) you subtract the grams of fiber from grams of total carbs. If you’re doing this, and still having trouble with beans, there’s something else going on.

    Almond flour... non gmo does not mean pesticides weren't used. Organic does.

  • @annemilligan5068
    @annemilligan5068 Год назад +4

    From what I’ve heard, Non GMO is not a guarantee of no pesticides. They do use them on non-GMO, and that it’s the GMOs that are modified so they don’t have to use any or as many pesticides on them. Can you please clarify this? Thanks!

    • @DrLivingood
      @DrLivingood  Год назад +1

      Non-GMO provides guarantees against the use of GMOs, it doesn't mean they haven't been sprayed with pesticides. On the other hand, no chemical pesticides are used ever on organic seeds. -LGD Team

    Do you know anything about lectins? That’s the brown skin on an almond.

    • @DrLivingood
      @DrLivingood  3 месяца назад

      Overall, I would not be worried about eating lectin-containing foods unless you know you are sensitive to those foods. Processed food, sugars, and bad oils are way more important to focus on. Many of the foods containing lectins have a lot of health benefits that outweigh the negatives for most people. Lectins can also easily be minimized by fermenting veggies, sprouting nuts, and cooking the grains/beans.-LGD Team

    Non-GMO has absolutely nothing to do with "not spraying toxins" 😮 It means there's no genetically modified molecules in the food source. Some GMOs may help make plants more resistant to bugs (large or teeny), or more drought resistant, or make the plant grow faster or bigger. Among other things. All done at the molecular level.
    Not having any toxins or pesticides used is under the "Organic" claims & designations.
    Pretty basic stuff anyone should know. 😕

    • @DrLivingood

      Yes, our ancestors did consume wheat as a staple food, but the wheat they ate was different from modern wheat varieties. We recommend avoiding wheat and grains until personal goals are met.
