That T-rex boss is one of the coolest bosses in gaming history. It breathes fire, has a laser eye, and its incredibly aggressive and has a hilarious finisher.
When you try to hide in one of the cubby holes in the arena and it crouches down and sticks its head inside to chomp at you.
Pretty sure that’s an allosaurus
And his name is Thunder that sounds badass.

The weaponized T rex with the lasers was a nice little gem of a boss battle. They don't make them like that anymore.

This game was so ahead of its time. The lighting effects were incredible for the time.

It's because 99% of games are designed for the multiplayer now. Gotta make "balanced" gun sets instead of fun ones when multiplayer is your main goal/audience. No BFG's for you.

you know, i love how they let you know something huge your going to fight at the end, by giving you all that ammo, and shit. But i think it would've been cooler if the endboss would've been replaced by the t-rex, and the t-rex replacing him as the final boss.

The first boss is called "The Longhunter" although he's never actually referred to that way in the game. I always thought that was such a badass name.

That Cyborg T-Rex was something very special. And it is even nowadays. The whole concept of this creature is just amazing and I love that roar. Just imagine a remake of this game with niwadays graphics 😍

I took this game as historically accurate when I told my first grade teacher (after she asked why the dinosaurs became extinct) that we killed all the Dinosaurs. I'm PRETTY sure I told her something along the lines of 'its true, I played a game about it'. Oh, the laughs the class had at that. Good times.

The Campaigner always reminded me of Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat for some reason, probably because he's a teleporting ass hole that takes ages to kill.

That T-Rex with the fkn lazer beam on it's head was easily one of the best bosses in any fps game.
A friend of mine was so good at Turok that he was able to kill the campaigner with the knife.

Shadow of Oblivion had a disappointing finale, tbh. Joshua dies, Adon being defiant to save him, Danielle being the mother of her own baby. Yeah. Disappointing.

These boss battles are crazy. It's no wonder that the guys who made this game went on to become Retro Studios and made Metroid Prime.
I lost so many lives against the motherfucking T-Rex, I almost ended up spiking my keyboard.
That cyborg T. rex is more relentless than Doom’s cyber demon, yes I said it.
That thing was running at you constantly and it really acted like it wanted to kill you, it was not giving you a moment to rest.
The Raptors shooting blue plasma were cool in this game. The jet-pack aliens,leapers,Dimetrodons,Cyborgs and Triceratops were also really interesting and well designed enemies. It was fun,watching enemies fight each other as well.Turoks weapons were awesome too. In fact,there is very little out there that rivals Turok in terms of addictiveness,gameplay and at times difficulty. Definately a 10/10 even after all these years....
I got this game used back in the day so it came with no manuals and I had NO clue about the narrative or the overall goal of the game, so I pretty much played level 1 over and over again with cheats just blowing the shit out of everything and everyone. Took me 20 years but I finally beat the game for the first time 2 months ago.
When I was 6 years old I got my n64 with Super Marion 64. On christmas I got my second game, which was this one :D I was horrible at it and scared shitless in bossfights, so my father had to beat it for me.
Of all the bosses I played against in my youth, I never forgot this one.
We definitely need more T-rexes with lasers on their heads.

The T-Rex boss fight scared me as a kid. The low visibility, the speed and size of the T-Rex, the laser eye trying to lock on to you, and the roar… I was terrified 😰

to me there's no feeling like seeing your enemy flash an oldschool shade of white when it's taking on damage. Bring that back!

Should have never collected the parts for the chromosphere. Just went through the game in less then a day and killed the last boss in less then a min. The first boss was harder and the only one that beat me was the mantis. The game physics, like falling is harder then the enemies. Hardest part of the game is finding keys.

One thing I dislike about the Turok games is that the bosses are super spongy... other wise difficult yet fun games to play.

a cyborg T-Rex. that would be such an awesome idea for the next Jurassic World movie.
I like to imagine the developers first made a T-Rex and said to each other "hmm, I don't think he's cool enough" and went "I know, he needs a flamethrower, a fucking laserbeam, and cybernetic shoes."

For me the Long Hunter is the hardest boss by far. The rest aren't too hard in comparison.

It's funny how EVERY enemy human character model was replaced by the robots in the last area in the German version of the game. When I was young I played the German version and then I played the UK one and I was like: "WTF?! No robots?! What is this shit?!". The version with the robots was kinda funny though and I enjoyed playing it (if you believe it or not :D) but of course the original is better :)
