- Welcome aboard as I head offshore aboard on The Falcon to do some solo mahi fishing in Marathon Florida. I come across a log and proceed to catch a nice limit of Mahi. I go over some of the tackle I carry, how to NOT lose the floater when you find it and how to be prepared for when this happens when your offshore. Grab your life jackets and hang on, and welcome aboard.

Great Video Capt! We are headed down in four weeks during the 4th of july and hoping to get some mahi action! Thanks for the tips! The marker float is a great tip!!
You bet!
Mahi, its what's for dinner. Great video, great information.
Yes! Thank you!
Great information to know!
Glad you think so!
Action packed video Capt. thanks for sharing. Hey you don’t have to do it all yourself I’d be glad to help. lol
Deal!
Are you a USGC Captain, or designating yourself as a Captain?
Great video, great day on the water. My concern is your fishing alone, not using an engine lanyard to kill your motors, not using a inflatable life vest and no personal locator device on your person.
As a Captain, you're responsible for any and all people onborad your vessel, including youself. Having the boat in gear while you fight fish is also a risk if you fall overboard.
Stay safe Captain and keep making great videos.
Hello, Yes I am a USCG Captian, Thanks for tuning in!
EPIC 9:12
Thanks for tuning in!
Hey Capt Matt, what were you pulling this day to get your Mahi, never noticed a skirt when you pulled in the fish???.
Hey Robert I use a 4-5" squid skirt, a small egg sinker inside of it and a mylar skirt. The skirt is HUGE, I've caught a number of wahoo on this trolling for mahi, they LOVE mylar. Here are the links;

And did I tell you already LOVE THE NEW BOAT!!!!!
Great video of some solo action on Mahi. What line do you have on those spinners?
I use 20# on the spinners and 30
3 on the trolling rods. Most guys are to heavy on all their tackle. This is sport fishing LOL!
Great idea with the float captain just wondering do you have a more specific name for the float or a link I googled 7 lb marine float and got on hit that was out of stock thanks.
OK here are the links for some of the goodies...
