I like what the Chilli Pipers are doing. If you don't breathe new life into the pipes for a new generation they will go in the dustbin of history. Nice job on bending those notes. I love piping and keeping young people interested in piping will keep it going. Hearing Scotland the Brave a hundred times at piping competitions gets old. Keep it going lads!
I was at this performance. This brings back really great memories of a (rare!) boiling hot weekend in Stornaway. Seeing the lads for the 5th time in a few weeks in Harrogate.
The first few times I heard this performed by Coldplay it gave me goosbumps. Hearing top class piobaireachd quite often brings me close to tears. Experiencing the technical brilliance of top solo playing and impressive force of top bands is exillerating. You're not telling me this comes close to making you actually feel anything significant. It's candy floss vs michellin star dining.
They say that you could hear Chris Martin crying as far away as New Jersey when he heard this, but for the swift action of Gwynneth, he would've blew his brains out
The original reorchestrated tune is brilliant and you STILL recognise the second part of the song, in a tune that was written specifically for the pipes. The beginning sounds like Ross Geller.
I don't know what it is, but I know that the chords are not to the lyrics from the bridge of the original song, "Tears stream down your face", nor is the end "Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you".
Stuart - Gordon Duncan started it with Thunderstruck .. do you think that is a load shit?? Kyle Warren goes and plays with the Chillies and then goes and plays with FMM - he isn't a load of shit piper .... grant cassiddy goes and plays drums with the chillies and then goes and wins the juvy drum solo's and the world drum champs with shotts - is he a load of shit?? its simply expanding what we can do with the pipes and making music .. something tells me ur just a bit jealous
J'adore depuis tout petit le son des cornemuses, ici une manière moderne d'en jouer, excellent tout simplement, un fan français.
I have seen them perform. If you get the chance this will be one of the most memorable concerts you will have ever attended.
So true, I have seen them many times, and have always been impressed by their concerts
Are they a cover band? I dont see any RHCP covers....

Got a problem with Novice Juvenile Pipers? My Novice band won the worlds last year.
A wish am knew where that Stuart guy lives! I'd give home a juvenile high kick to the face for his comment!
Chanters only. I think it would sound better with the tenor and bass drones.
Hav to admit, loved wen it started but then it went a bit weird in th middle, wasnt really in keeping with th song xxx still love them tho 😗
I'd like to see you play this better.
