Jim is fiercely loyal. He left the show when Ant got fired. He supported Opie throughout and wasn't harboring resentment for years. Ask Louis C.K. Jim really had his back when his whole me too incident happened. He's a proper friend

You forgot to mention he was Anthony’s first guest and that opie was disloyal first. The idea that Jim should have quit his job, lose his health insurance and 6 figure paycheck to go play in the sandbox with Anthony is so childlike it’s insane

Perfect world: Ant replaces Sam, on condition that Ant lay off (or at least soft pedal) the alt.right hoo-ha. Sam gets moved to Morning Mashup (assuming that show is still on). But it's not a perfect world, and the higher-ups at SiriusXm don't have the sense God gave a turnip, so it won't happen.
It won't happen more so because Anthony is banned from Sirius again without any explanation as to why.
Having seen Ant's bright yellow face in the last few "podacasts", maybe Sirius doesn't want to be responsible for Ant's inevitable liver transplant. Paling around with the likes of Alex Jones doesn't help either.
