A little gem about Misa mentioned in a blog with the girls: She hated her need for sleep, because it was interfering with her progress on the bass. Talking about dedication.
Yes, and she wanted her fans to know that she would bleed after practicing slapping but she didn't mind as long as her fans appreciaited her playing. Like you said, "dedication"
They got a new single coming out in December and a new album in January. New single "Different" is releasing in December 2020! It's going to be the opening theme for a TV anime (terrestrial broadcast) starting in January next year. The new album is coming out in January 2021! This will be their first release following their move to the label Pony Canyon.
You guys do a nice job of hitting that overlooked happy medium spot between very analytical and technical (which I also like, but might not be fun for non-musicians), and the vast majority of reactors with nothing to offer beyond, "I like her voice! This reminds me of something. They're good!"
Something “Different”. You might be pleased to know that Band-Maid will be releasing at new single - “different”, on Dec 02, which will be used as the OP to an anime series in Jan 2021. More details on the anime will be released on Nov 02. Might be an obscure anime or might be a big one.
I am hoping it is a big one. I don't have any real interest in anime but l realize that if the show is a hit and becomes popular in Japan it will serve to raise Band-Maid's profile in their native land. People will, whether they like their music or not, know and recognize the name Band-Maid. To me if this new association with TV Fuji and Pony Canyon turns out to make them a household name at home that could be just the springboard to relaunch World Domination. Time will tell.
The Maids said to Akane how funny she looked walking out on stage wearing shorts & novelty gorilla feet slippers. Akane replied "What novelty slippers"?
Very true! In an interview she wanted her fans to know that she would bleed after practicing slapping but she didn't mind as long as her fans appreciaited her playing.
Such talented musicians. I love BAND MAID. They have to be one of the best, if not the best, new rock bands around. Great reaction. Thanks! Take care and stay safe.
Honestly, this was the song that finally hooked me completely into this band. I heard one or two before and thought "yeah, that´s cool", but this one made me really realize the energy and technicality of them on an other level. Since then, I absolutely love all of their work.
Talking about MISA, at first she's more annoyed and hesistant when Kanami (lead guitar) gave her more and more difficult bass line. But she's the type that never gave up the great challenge, so, like a big child she is, always make the impossible bass line possible😂. And now she's more complaining about her needs to sleep bcoz it'll make her progress on bass got interupted. This girl, i can't even...😂 Too cute~
Cory you are playing Rocksmith😲 nice! The songs e.g. 'Onset', 'Dice', 'Moratorium' are also on the CustomForge database. I have German buddy who plays Rocksmith and tries to stream it for multiple hours once a weekend. I frequently request Band-Maid and Babymetal to tease him a bit.😉 And he also started to like Band-Maid.
You might wanna find a live video of Play, a song that Kanami originally wrote as an instrumental, but Saiki wanted to add vocals, so Miku and her wrote lyrics.
Ha ha ha - right there with you on Misa's talent, I too have tried to play Band Maid bass lines - and failed! 😂 Would love to know what settings she has on her amp and what pedals she's using cos the 'growl' of that bass is the best i've ever heard 👍👍👍 keep the reactions coming guys - lovin them 😁👍🎸

@@powbobs Was going off the Japanese people pronouncing it on Forvo. Of course, my southern American ears were still translating it for my brain, so YMMV.
If you want to hear an amazing instrumental band, try ASTERISM. HAL-CA the guitarist is just a force of nature, a volcano of energy. From all the guitarists I know, she's probably the most advanced, at least in rock. MIYU plays seven-string bass, or the four-string with a whammy bar. His big brother MIO on drums is pretty good as well. They were crazy good instrumentalists already when they were 15, you may check their cover of the Kill Bill theme, for example: ruclips.net/video/2m0F_7-dQAg/видео.html Already for two or three years they write and play mostly their own material, and they are fantastically good at composition as well. Check, for example, their song Museum of Death: ruclips.net/video/Y57QxKwDS7s/видео.html It's a 360° degrees video, you can drag it left and right, to see each member - drag it from right to left at the beginning, to see MIYU on his seven-string bass, this song really showcases his talent.
After I've made that comment, I went on and am sitting here listening to all those Battle Session recordings one after the other 😁 One of their most unusual numbers for the modern music scene is probably Overdirve: ruclips.net/video/oHTxEu-UuV4/видео.html They are just jamming there live in the studio, and it looks and sounds amazing. The improvisational music has largely disappeared now. If you take the bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and other monsters of rock from the 70s, it was considered a must to play mostly improvisations on stage. Like, if you consider yourself a good musician, you should present to the concert-goers something different from the studio version, otherwise why would people pay for the tickets? BAND-MAID has entirely different approach. They *compose* improvisations (or, rather, extra additions, solos, intros, etc.), then rehearse them beforehand, polish them to perfection, and perform on stage. And quite often they don't repeat those extra things in the future performances, they are valid for a few months only. The reason for that is obvious: BAND-MAID music is too complicated to leave it to chance. On the other hand, ASTERISM is just a three-piece band, entirely instrumental, and it leaves them a lot of room for smooth and fascinating improvisation. It sounds very much like a friendly conversation between the life-long friends. No awkwardness, everything goes in harmony. But of course, this ease is deceptive. There are very few bands nowadays who can actually do something like this.
You know... Idk what led us to do weekly reactions to Band Maid. I think once we saw one the OVERWHELMING requests for more were insane so we just decided to keep doing Band Maid till it slowed down. Yes we do.
