I cleaned them in the spring and had no issue with them as far as not staying up, but then just a week ago I cleaned them again for fall cleaning and one of them would not stay up. Wow, this was an excellent explanation of how to fix the window. My wife cleaned the windows and two of them would not stay open. This video not only makes it clear how to fix the problem (takes about 1-2 minutes), but how to avoid the problem in the future when cleaning them.

Thank you thank you thank you... yours was the 3rd attempt to find the same kind of Harvey window I have. Mine a bit bigger than the ones here but this senior citizen made it happen. I've been cleaning them for years without this happening but glad to find the solution. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. We have a set of Vantage Series 6500 windows thru Home Depot. They don't have the side component spring loaded. Instead, you push them up with a tool. One side of our window was out of the pivot channel. We were able to take it out and after much wrangling and putting a minor gash in the inner frame, got it back in and working as it should! Thanks again for the instruction.

I can't see where the pivot bar would be for the UPPER window, which drops like a rock.
I only use Anderson window's, unlike harvey window's, they don't need repairing, you just Install them!

As soon as I turn it back to u-shape it stops working. What am I doing wrong?
It only works if I keep it in a turned position but then I can't lock the window. As soon as I put it in the u shape it it locks up again and will not move.
Funny how nobody talks about the top one not staying up.
