    Res-Med leaves a lot to be desired in terms of helping C-PAP users actually USE their product. My new foam cushion arrived the other day with unhelpful verbiage in at least a dozen languages. Why bother to send all that paperwork that says only to refer to "the user guide"? The video above was a life saver! Replacing the foam cushion is easy -- once you know how. It's an utter mystery until then. When I was given my new full-face mask, no one explained that I would even be receiving monthly replacement cushions -- let alone how to attach them. Thanks for all the helpful comments here!

    i have been using the f20 for several years, and my only complaint is the head gear velcro areas disintegrate after just a few washes, and then you have to replace the head gear MUCH sooner than the actual mask,, and for whatever reason, my insurance,,, medicare only allows a full mask replacement every 6 months, but a mask minus the head gear every 3 months,, other than those two things,, i love the f20 even though my partner cant wear it because it causes a brown spot on his upper nose like ive seen others complain about here,, he uses the f30 now and that now works for him

    Be careful with the tightness... the small crossbar on the magnetic clips is very weak and can break easily... After only four months use, I had one break off... Temporarily I drilled two small holes in the magnetic clip and used nylon twine to make a loop that would allow it to be reattached to the head gear... The magnetic clips are available for purchase if you break one...

    Hello there, very new to CPAP therapy and I have a nasal mask and a F20 like the one you’re reviewing. On the nasal mask there are ports for expelling air when breathing out (machine on) that make normal breathing very comfortable, on my F20 mask there are ports but they only open when my machine is off. Is this normal? It makes breathing when the machine is on very difficult and uncomfortable. I liken it to wearing a respirator and only being able to breath in. I would assume that like a respirator you would have a means to exhale without difficulty or resistance? I feel like I’m trying to force air back through the hose when exhaling. I would appreciate any feedback you could provide. Thanks!

      The current F20 masks (Last 2 years or so), should all have the 'Quiet Air' elbow which is really quiet. One thing that might make the exit port louder is any condensation in the mask which gets caught in the exit holes.

    After using the large mask, I changed to a medium mask and that helped me to avoid leaks, but 2 days ago I started hearing constant air flow leaving through the elbow and no air pressure inside the mask, do I need to change the elbow? Does it sell individually?

    • @CPAPDirect
      @CPAPDirect  2 года назад +1

      It does sound like the elbow can be the problem. If you are using the F20 full face mask, there is a flap in the elbow that may have become dislodged and re-directing the airflow out of the exit ports. You can order the 'quiet elbow' part here: cpap.com.au/products/resmed-f20-f30-quietair-elbow?_pos=8&_sid=3fd9a8f01&_ss=r

I’m hanging problems breathing through the mask as my nose blocks up. I breathe through my mouth and get a dry mouth. It’s extremely important to have a tight fit as you do not leakage! It will hiss and wake you up. My pressure is set to fluctuate from 13.4 to 16.4
      I’m thinking you will have to make sure yours is set quite high, considering your number of events.
      Some important advice... is quite difficult to get a mask that is really suitable. I recommend a full face mask in case you open your mouth during sleep which is highly common. Don’t use the nose mask... as you are sure to get leakage with opening the mouth....

    • @CPAPDirect
      @CPAPDirect  2 года назад

      Hi Neil. The first thing we would suggest is to loosen the mask a little. It needs to be as loose as it can be and still get a mask seal. If the mask is too tight or not symmetrical on your face, it will make your face sore. If the humidity is up too much and you are sweating, this can also lead to rashes. There are Remzzzy's mask covers you can get to help with this however it is best to give your face a couple of days break to recover before continuing. Have you had a professional mask fit so they can check the angle and pressure the mask is sitting on your face? - Another thing that might help is the AirTouch memory foam cushions for the F20. They are super soft and not harsh on the face.

      @@nmonkey1977 People used to really strap on the Mirage Quattro and it;s a hard core mask but can be uncomfortable if you have it tight. The Medium or small F20 shouldn't be too big for you though if a Mirage Quattro fits. Usually when there are excess leaks, it's because the mask is either too tight, too loose or not sitting symmetrical on your face which is a strap adjustment issue. If you can use a nasal mask, you'll get a better seal. Most people that are on a full face mask are on one because they can't breathe through their nose properly. Is that your situation?

    How do you disconnect the elbow from the hose?

    • @CPAPDirect
      @CPAPDirect  2 года назад +1

      The elbow fits snug into the end of the CPAP hose so it simply pulls out when you need to remove it. You may need to twist it a little as you pull it out. The idea is that the elbow disconnects from the mask for bathroom breaks and stays in the end of the hose most of the time. This is because in the past, people would pull the hose off the elbow often and the end of the CPAP hose would stretch and eventually the hose would start to leak air around the elbow and eventually start falling off in the middle of the night. Please let us know how you go with pulling the elbow out of the tube/hose. :)

      Have you tried the disposable memory foam ones? They are super soft and comfy. They are called 'AirTouch' cushions and you can order just a 3 pack to try. See if it fixes the problem.
