I can't seem to stick with one type of art work. Some time's I pick up my Mack brush, some time's I pick up my exacto knife, pen or I'll pick up my welding gun, nail gun. Very inspiring session. Maybe if I stick with one thing I could be great at one thing.

I honestly don't think Ron realizes how cool he really is. It's not the car that makes him that cool. It's how awesome of a person he is. To be that talented and successful and still be that humble and not a cocky arrogant asshole is just amazing to me. Awesome guy. Would def be cool to meet Ron

I did a 63 corvette back in Phoenix AZ it's name was "xanado" I redid all the glass painted it HOK black with two passion pearl stripes outlined with teal. My buddy at Arizona automotive paint( and best friend) Scott Sommerer told me about this guy who used to work at the Olds dealer in the East Valley so I called him and Ron came to my customers house and after talking with him he suggested a color and outlined my leal stripes with lavender! Well it came out as professional as any and he charges me a very "fair"price! Took my graphics and really put the" look" on it ! On kind guy who wash top notch back then! Thanks Ron you really aced that vetted!

I had been custom painting since the 60's (Airbrush Art, pin stripping and reverse gold leaf/glass work-my favorite). After 9 years US Army including my combat tour in Vietnam (2/502 Inf, 101st Airborne), I got an offer to teach airbrush techniques in Australia ... I'm 75 years old now and still paint smaller paintings (A4-A5) as I'm suffering the side effects of Agent Orange (Dioxin Poisoning) with one being unable to walk... I was told the cancers are in remission, plus my MOS was 11 Bravo-P and i was the team sniper, hence the PTSD.
I notice here in Sydney that I NEVER see custom striping or mural work. It's like you said, the youth today just buy a toy and don't personalize it???? Flat Black HD or vinyl wraps ... you'd be lucky that wrap last 5 years. It saddens me. I remember Ron Finch, Big Daddy Roth among many other talented people. I love your story's ... I used to go to dealerships for an open day, pin strip one van in front of the crowed for free and then I get paid to do customer's vans, trucks or cars. I had a great life ... sad about president JFK starting "Operation Ranch Hand" (Spraying Agent Orange in VN back in 1961, in the end killing over 400,000 Vietnam Veterans from Agent Orange related health issues ... art is my only escape, never stop and I was asked once ;"How long did that take you to learn"? ... I don't know, I'm always learning, just like you said.*** Side note ... My partner and I went to the Gypsy museum in England for a holiday ... the most unreal ornament art designs I had ever seen... even the axels were pin stripped!

You got that right I was a teacher's aid at a collage they shut down the welding programs in all the collages in California. I went to dam near every thing that had to do with welding to get signatures why to keep the welding programs open. One by one all of the welding programs got drop like stack of damanos.
