You’ve made me think just received my 11” iPad Pro to replace my 9.7 pro and having second thoughts this my only tech I have an ancient laptop which is crap just loath using windows stuff. My iPad is my main item but just not sure about the new one especially as you say they can be returned. I am an old guy 72 . Nice thoughts and apologies for my waffle . Ps I use my iPad for filming as well plus an array of cameras .
These were my thoughts exactly. Used it for a couple of hours and couldn’t get comfortable with it. As much as I want to like it it’s going back. I prefer my MBP over the IPad
Hmm. I wouldn't be editing on that. That's really what a laptop is for. The 12.9" pro would be for reading or watching films. Maybe productivity tracking. I'm creative - make music, write, make a podcast - but I wouldn't use this for creativity. I really want one but it's pricey. I have a very old ipad mini1 ios 9 and I think I'm going to jailbreak it first and downgrade it to ios6 (apparently much better and faster than ios9) before I even consider getting a new ipad. The new ipad mini is a disgrace. They decreased the bezels but they also decreased the entire size. Now it's basically just a slightly larger phone. Feels pointless. I just wish this stuff wasn't so expensive.
What was your configuration? I have the 11 inch 2020 128 gb cellular model . Lte is great can take anywhere . Paired with my 11 pro max and Mac mini , the 16 inch MacBook is calling my name lol
This 12.9" model was the 256GB Wi_Fi only. I had an LTE iPad back in the day that was very useful, but for what I thought my usage would be - WiFi would be enough. The 11" is probably more manageable for travel and productivity, but I wanted the screen real estate of the 12.9" because if there's one thing I hate, it's a cramped timeline. I have an AVID preset that makes the timeline cover almost the entire monitor at work for when I'm getting into some heavy scenes. :) It sounds like you already have a lot of tech to choose from - would a new MacBook Pro do anything useful for you?
iPad Pro 11 2020 128GB and the verdict is I love it. Lumafusion is powerful mobile editing app. All I need is a HDMI cable to connect to my monitor for longer editing sessions. Plus what I love about it I’m not confine to a desk. Mind you I have a laptop but is old it but it works perfect. Just future proofing myself because my laptop is 4 year and 5 months old.
@@GilesHoughton I'd say you could probably easily fit 2-3 larger projects on there, but as is the case with anything mobile - I'd make sure to take advantage of Lumafusion's project archive abilities and store older projects in the cloud to save space.
@@GilesHoughton Thanks Giles! Also remember that iOS is far more flexible concerning connecting external hard drives now, so that's another great way to archive work to leave space on your iPad itself.
iPad never was created to replace a laptop. It is a consumer product not professional. It will never replace the laptop, never meant to and never will.
Hi. I have a question about Ztotop case. Is this rigid on the back or can you bend it with light force? These Ipads are very prone to bending. I'm looking for a case which has multiple angles like this one and will prevent bending.
Hi! I just checked the case and the back and front panels are quite rigid. The sides are a bit less firm but I think that's so the iPad can fit in without too much of a struggle. I definitely wouldn't say it's bendable with "light force". I'd say I could bend it with a wrench. :)
@@RobZeigler Thanks for the answer. Do you think that iPad Pro in this case will be safe in a backpack? I plan to put it in a laptop compartment. Would it survive the presure when I lean my back forward?
Well said. Thanks for making the video.
Well said ! Finnaly a relevant experience !

Indeed. It's a tough choice, but the device is just overlapping too many of my current workflows and alternatives.

Great video, I love my iPad Pro
I’m thinking the same thing, but I just like the look of the iPad pro, I no its not going to replace a full desktop OS but its different

Lumafusion really is very well thought out. It came from the minds of ex-AVID employees, so I'm not surprised it's as complete as it is.
Do you find 128GB enough for Lumafusion?

Rob Zeigler Thanks! 128 it is then :)

Well they did advertise it as a computer replacement

I'm very much confused with what to buy a laptop , upcoming tab s7 or iPad pro 11 . I'm more of torrent guy
best tech commercials if you’re a torrent guy, your better off buying a laptop for that.
Perry Augustine u can install transmission and download staff on ipad.
i went for ipad pro 12.9 and it’s too late to return it.... get a macbook pro !
They should STOP promoting the iPad Pro as a computer replacement. Its not that yet...Its a great companion device.
Why so much dislike?
Over MSRP Too many sheeps who dont really create anything and only watching stuff on youtube.
Oh no! What a blasphemy!
