Respectfully, your the first person I’ve heard to say that Chevy Cruze’s are great cars😅. Every single person I have known that’s had one it was a complete lemon and always in the shop. Even GM techs have told be that they are junk and to stay away lol.
I've heard that many times my self my friend has been at a GM dealership for 12 years he always says Chevy cruze are junk!!!! But I see alot of them around 🤷♂️
The Holden Cruze here in Australia are junk too, walk into any second hand car dealerships and you'll see at least 2 or 3 of them that were traded in. Was told by my mechanic when car hunting to keep clear of them.
Hail damage cars are awesome, both my parents have hail damaged cars that were in perfect shape, minus hail dings, and they were ~40% cheaper than a non hail damaged one for the same mileage and condition. I highly recommend buying a hail damaged car!
This might sound stupid but I wish we had hail damaged cars here in AZ because I honestly wouldn't care. Little dents don't make a car any less fun IMO!
I am looking for a beater and would love to get a hail damaged Honda or Toyota. But prices here in Austin for hail damaged car is still fetching 60%+ of the Copart estimated retail. With auctions fees...etc, the total come close to retail price.
I was in shopping for new car and ran into Honda dealership with almost entire lot with brand new cars with HD. The car that was HD sticker price was 25G, they offered for 18G. I bought nothing. Later month or so I bought a brand new Honda. Guess what? After 5 yrs of ownership of the car one afternoon during work time hails damaged all cars at parking lot. I've got HD car after all.:))))
I owned a 2016 Malibu in grey, I bought it from my grandmother. Loved the looks, loved the size of it, even the 1.5 turbo did pretty good for a 1.5 liter. The interior was nice, BUT it was always broke. Electronic issues, rear window leaked and ruined the headliner, motor issue, power steering issue all before 50,000 miles. Might have had a lemon, but when you research online, sounds like there is a lot of people that had the same problem I had. If gm wouldn’t cheap out on the parts, I would go buy another one in a heart beat.
Randy, the VW Atlas engine isn't a normal V6, it's a VR6, that's mean it's a V6 whith 15 degrees angle, the other V6 has 60 or 90 degrees angle (sorry if my english isn't perfect, I'm from Switzerland and normally I speak italian)
I just had one of those Jeep Renegade things as a loaner for a month. Just turned it back in today and got my Tahoe back. That Jeep was a gutless wonder of a Jeep. Its the first 4 banger I have Driven in 25 years. The only good thing I can say is the AC will freeze you out. But other than that it pretty much sucked.
I have put over 30k miles on my new body Cruze with the turbo and we love that car. Best money I have ever spent and it’s all thanks to Randy’s information that he has given repeatedly on those cars.
One of the few positives of the Audi is that it has a proper V6... Negatives include the gearbox and the fact that the engine timing gear is at the back of the engine 🤦♂️ That VW Atlas has the VR6 lump, basically a short straight six with the bores drilled on the piss and a single cylinder head. About the same size as a four banger but with 6 cylinders. And as you heard, god awful direct injection rattle... If you were flipping cars rather than making videos you could make a solid living out of Chevy Cruzes. Ignore the LS1 haters... They'll take a supercharger without any real modifications. A mate has an '06 Monaro VXR (GTO) with a blown LS2 prodicing about 675hp. His daily is a Vauxhall Omega (Cadillac Catera) wagon with a blown LS1 that puts out about 600hp. The Omega is about 400lbs heavier, but on the road there's not much between them.
Yay copart walk- around... your coming into storm season again.. hail damage car can be a good buy if your not fussed on the dents but alot of the car prices are through the roof atm so a cheap way to own a newer car for a person who want A to B transport on the cheap 👍
Normally I’d agree with you on a ford but the newer Taurus’s with the 3.5l v6 I’ve owned 2 of them one I currently daily drive. One I sold with 208k on the odo never had an issue with the motor or trans. My daily is currently sitting with 146k and same deal no issues. The focus and fiesta are indeed crap drivetrains but the Ford Taurus has never let me down. For a ford they are great cars.
It’s a little known fact that Ford extended the warranty on the DCT Focuses to 10 years and 100k miles. If you get one within the warranty period and the trans goes out, chances are you’ll end up with a rental car that’s nicer than that Focus. Just make sure you run not walk away from cars out of warranty.
That A8 is the 3.0 V6, underpowered- the diesel is the good V6. Audi, and many other European cars, have had functional lighters and ashtrays for way longer than most cars! My 2017 A4 was the first year in the US to not have one. I'm laughing at "did the spin cycle in the washing machine!"
Also Randy, you missed out on the Audi A8L's driver's side and passenger's side messaging front seats. We have the same 2016 A8L with the supercharged 333 hp 3.0T engine, but in black, and we absolutely love it.
That atlas had a dead battery previously. That’s why the abs light is on. If it was an issue it would have more lights. I love my 2019 jetta GLI. Put 43k on it in a year and a half. Full bolt on stage 2 almost 400 horsepower jetta. And it’s been reliable as hell
The Cruze had a poor reputation for reliability here (UK) and didn't sell many as a result. Plus Chevrolets here were for a long time rebadged Daewoos (Lacetti, Matiz) which didn't help their reputation when they began selling proper GM cars like the Cruze. GM buyers here tend to opt for Vauxhalls (which are sold as Opels elsewhere in Europe.) Do Copart allow the use of magnets to test for body filler?
I've never heard anything good said about the Chevy Cruze as far as reliability. Perhaps not quite as bad as the Focus but their general resale values are abysmal. The earlier Ford Fusions with the Mazda built 4-cyls are real good cars. Had one with 275K. The Crown Vic another pretty good Ford product.
I have 2009 mk4 Ford Mondeo wagon with a 2.0l Diesel engine, and it’s reliable. It’s has past 300k km and still goes strong. Where I live Fords are popular taxi cars, and they go well over 600k km and still goes good.
See i stay away from GM like the plauge I had a few Silverados man nothing but issues and break downs never ever again!! I only buy Fords but mostly trucks I like GM but nothing after the mid 1990s. Thanks for the content Randy loved the Audi
So Randy educate a person that lives in a state where hail doesn’t ruin cars. Is there a market for these in the Midwest? They have been totaled out because the body damage is not repairable economically? Do people drive them around with all of the dings/dents if you buy them?
I love the Chevy Malibu. The only thing that concerns me are the CVT transmissions, as they have been problematic. The Malibu is hard to find at the dealerships as with all cars these days. GM may discontinued after this year as all sedans. Sad. Stay away from VW.
I remember that stupid liberty! Maybe you should add a little magnet to your little kit? Maybe Copart would allow that? And I can’t wait to see that new sublot!! Maybe you can do a Santa walkabout at the new lot soon? Does Oklahoma have a helmet law?
I'd drive any of the hail damaged chevy's out there. Wouldn't bother me at all, they are basic transportation and you won't have to worry about parking lot dings. They would also be great first cars for your teenagers, chances are they're going to wreck them anyway. I speak from experience.
I had a 2013 sonic lt with the 1.8 and loved it. But the cooling fan went out which overheated the car and cracked the thermostat housing and apparently thise parts weren't covered under warranty and i gave the car back to the finance company. Miss the car but i was already over paying for it and wasn't about to dump the movey into fixing it
Hey randy, that jeep that nearly had you pooping your pants , wasn't it the one with manual transmission that had issues , could it have dropped into lower gear causing to loose control on that on- ramp? Seems to me that might explain that , keep up walk- abouts

That VW Atlas has the VR6 in it, wonderful engine, and they make a absolutely amazing sound when you chop the exhaust off.
WOW!
Did I just watch a Copart Walkaround without you using the booster pack at all? 😲
I don't recall when was the last time that that happened! 🤔
I'm so happy, upload came just on time for my afternoon coffee
With all of the hail damage vehicles,Oklahoma must be very expensive to insure your car there.
Gotta love Randy's positivity. He can look at anything wrong on a car and calmly say "ok."
What I think happened to the Audi A8 L is that the owner panic in the middle of the Hail Storm and started to speed up and got into an accident
