VW Jetta PCV Valve Replacement/White exhaust Smoke ?

  • I noticed a change in my engine performance and saw white smoke coming from the exhaust in addition to the sound of air hissing out. I concluded it may have been the PCV valve, so I show the symptoms and how to replace it in this video.

    After the Dorman Kit install, do not put back the engine cover. Start engine to check air leak around PCV. Open the oil fill cap and fist check you can open it and quick close several times. If the PCV diaphragm is not seated good then air leak will create high vacuum in crank case and you will have trouble to pen the cap and most probably you may get code P0106, p2187, p030x etc. Such high vacuum will damage other engine seals.

      Yes it did but you may one to check for a head gasket leak first before you go my route. I checked mine so I knew my issue was the culprit.
