Well… I’m about to take delivery of one of these - specifically due to the sounds - especially for folk, country, jazz and blues; the heavy sounds might be fun but aren’t essential. I have noted the people rabbiting about the size of the speaker and calling it a toy… and while it’s never going to work well at Wembley…… it’s got enough grunt for home, jam sessions and small gigs and that’s all I’m ever likely to need. If I’m ever going to need a bigger sound, I’ll add a socket on the back for an extension cabinet - or feed the line-out into a big PA! Also - my new Cube Baby will give me external gain, chorus, flanger, delay, IR cabs… and yet more reverb - if I ever need them!
Really good review, no silly mindless shredding, you let us hear the amp tone with more simple playing, also showed full range of amp sounds, well done on good review, wish more were like this
Already have crush 35rt, nice valve like tones, also love how controlled knobs react to each other as you demonstrated, also impressed by phones out sound, all in all a simple good tone amp at a reasonable cost
Dude, TUNE UP, you're not done yet! 😂 Also, subscribed, because you told the truth about the EQ not having much range. I've seen too many reviews where the host pretends they hear a difference.
It's a great little amp, has alot of character, my partner has one and I have the 25watt orange bass amp. All we need for the lounge practice/jam, great fun 👍
Finally a good Amp review, that doesn't feel company driven advertisement. With real perspectives that are relevant!! You sir, are an artist! Love Your breakdown, and diligent time taken to hear each alteration. Best amp review I've watched thus far. The whole narrow range aspect You mention, and focussing across a smaller range, is one of the best descriptions I've ever heard on a tear down.. And does it need saying, absolutely beautiful sounds. Think You've just sold me this amp fella. Been a long deliberation, but 2022 will be fun once this is in my Arsenal. I love bang for the buck items. What I'm all about. Understated. Please keep up the good work. Massive thumbs up. From sunny NW UK ;)
@@FretSuccess Now been a proud owner of the Crush 20 RT for almost a month. Quite surprised me how good this little amp is. A lot of kick for your doller. Very unique sounding too. Very content customer here. :)
Yeah. It's a good little amp for the money. The reverb is pretty standard and does the job to give some ambience when required. Nothing fancy but gives you what you need if you want to open up the sound of your guitar
Thanks for the feedback Aniq. Appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment. I'd love to know more about what you found useful about this review if you have time. Hope the guitar playing is going good. Dan
Whats the differnce between Orange Crush 20L and this one tour reviewing. I seen a Orange Crush 20l for £40 is that good?? Or do you think its worthless?
@@mangmiketeamtaiaha7256 This amp has a particular sound to it. It has no effects built in apart from reverb. It's a good sounding amp for it's small size but has a raw amplifier sound to it. It wouldn't take acoustic particularly well but then most electric guitars amps (if not all) are not going to sound great with an acoustic. what budget do you have? That normally sets the range of amps you can buy. I love the orange sound but if you're after a more generalist amplifier with a variety of sounds then the Boss Katana is worth having a play through and dig into.
Good question. You may get a bit of a wobbly sound if you're not careful with volume from the pedal, especially at low pitched notes and chords. It was pretty good at handling stuff I threw at it though
You mentioned the Fender Champion. Given that the champion is a digital amplifier vs the crush's analog circuits, Is the Orange 20rt better in terms of the sounds produced?
If you want a raw analog sound then the crush is for you. It has that mid range raunchy and face smashing experience. The fender champion is good also but a not softer and more jangle. Hope that helps.
@@benedictabbu8315 that's great man. I find a tele is a good judge of an amp. They are fantasticly versatile guitars. Congrats on your new crush my friend. Thanks for stopping by in the comments!

Gosh telecaster sounds awesome with this amp
Indeed it does. But I'd argue that telecasters sound great with any amp haha
@@FretSuccess Do you think it is worth paying more for Orange 20 RT or just Orange 20 without reverb but with reverb pedal would be enough?

I believe the only difference is that this one has a tuner and reverb built in. What are you planning on using the amp for?

So the 20L is actually the first version of this amp. The 20 and 20RT are the updated versions. Go for the newer ones, it was upgraded for a reason.

Would the speaker be big enough to handle a loop pedal

It sounds boxy and cheap
It is in a small box and low in price. It's a great amp considering those things. It's not for everyone but is a fun amp to play with
The bigger sizes are very good those small ones record very well but the sound of the spkr is not good
