That's probably not aluminum wire. They used to tin plate that old cloth insulated wire. I grew up in an old farm house full of it. Actually was quality stuff in it's day.
I had not heard of tin plated copper in cloth wire. I dont think thats what this was tho cuz the cross section is all silver but maybe. It cant be too aweful since its still in use and the place is still standing

Come to think of it, i ran into some of that in an old shoe factory and just brushed it off. I quess it wasnt a one off after all
