I've never seen any of your videos before, it's great to be here. I'm really loving these new Fender guitars, specifically that red strat. And that intro was just incredible! I can't wait to listen to more of your playing.
Awesome sound Brett. Great review. For sure i will buy this - especially due to color which i enjoy.. i always wanted to have kind red Strat in my gear. It will be great set- American pro 2 + Player 2 :)
Great demo as always. Coral pink is my favourite colour on a strat I wish they would have made the shade even lighter and more coral but you cannot go wrong with a Mexican fender they make such great guitars these days.
position 4 sounds like Mark Knofler's - Sultans of Swing. Similar colour as his live performance using his red Stratocaster. Also love the rose wood rolled fretboard:)
Awesome playing! Pity they don't do Fiesta Red or Tahitian Coral in this line of Fenders. I guess they want you to buy an American Vintage or Custom Shop Strat to get those classic colours.
Fiesta Red is my favourite of all Fender colours(thanks mainly to Hank!) and this looks pretty close to it on my laptop. I wondered how it compared in real life. Great demo by the way.
@@Elksniffer1 Thank you. Actually I don't mind if it's lighter than Fiesta Red. I am sure the current Fiesta Red is darker than it used to be in the 60s.Then It was often referred to as Salmon Pink or Flamingo Pink before it was known what the official name was.
But does it doom? 😆😆 Seriously, glad to see rosewood back and, on paper, has what I actually want compared to the professional series. I must say though, I think the American pro I is the best guitar fender has mass produced in the past couple decades.
Ooh, the EJ is at the top of the heap, Doc. And priced accordingly, of course. But if you're after a Strat workhorse that plays and looks good, these might be hard to beat for many.
Another great demo from a sensational player MIM is kicking goals great colour but pity there is no Sonic Blue Two questions Would you giggle with it Was anything missing from your perspective
Some cool new colors, and body materials/construction. - still no locking tuners - still no block saddles - still no pickup upgrade from the old models Player Series Alnico 5's - not a real bone nut - still a "black plastic" truss rod cover - made now in Indonesia I've heard
Yeah I might have that information wrong Brett. I had read somewhere some of these new player II Fenders where being manufactured in a new plant in Indonesia. All my other points stay though!! Fender market this level instrument as their "Player" grade. IE have features players would appreciate or want. I mean you get get elcheapo guitars today with locking tuners, its a must have for a players guitar (different if you have a guitar tech with you on a gig). I just don't think the addition of stainless steel frets are a biggie for "players". And a pickup upgrade would have been great, like some noiseless vintage pickups or some tex-mex pickups as standard.. Rather than the old weak anemic player series Alnico 5 pickups.
I have stopped watching these Demo/review videos byt Brett or Andy or TPS or other great players coz they make everything sound fantastic, which i cant really. So i just watch these videos for the tones and the playing and just overall beauty!!
i love guitars and guitarists since 1980... i bought thousands of albums and dvds. I was at a lot of concerts too. i love Gilmour, Satriani, Knopfler,Gary Moore, SRV, Latimer, Vai, Uli Jon Roth, Eric Johnson,Eric Gales, Clapton,BB King, Buddy Guy etc... but Brett gives me the most emotional feeling. His playing touches my heart ....hard to explain. At my opinion in his hands, the guitar speaks like it s alive❤❤❤
These new Player II series guitars are said to have rolled fingerboard edges. Being someone who owns 5 guitars with that feature, you can certainly tell from the close up image you showed, that they hardly did anything to the edges. Looks pretty standard, NON rolled edge fretboard to me.
Last week i put a deposit down on a Limited Edition in Fiesta with roasted maple neck with Fat 50s in the neck and bridge and Fat 60s in the middle, Now I'm in a bind and don't know if I should stick with it or see i f I can get the new one from the dealer.
Good example of it's all in the fingers no matter the guitar you always sound excellent
Thanks Tim. I just improvise, that's all. A decent guitar certainly helps.
The tone is superb but it's a $1400 Fender, it's not exactly some cheap no-name
best review on this new guitar i have seen! you covered so much ground so quickly.

+++ great video, excelent playing+++
Great demo Brett. I'm going to pre order one of the Jazzmasters. Trying to decide between the red and the green one.

nice playing, good demo, nice sounds🤘🎸🎶
GREAT Demo/Playing as always Sir
Great playing and tone. Love it 😊
Fantastic demo Brett.
Always look forward to your playing 🎸
Thanks James. All the best.

I see that Gretsch G5220 on the wall great looking guitar! I have the Hss maple fretboard player series 1 it rocks too
Sounded fantastic
Hi
they look and sound great
which one do you prefer Rosewood or Maple ?
Tones!
Fiesta Red is my favourite of all Fender colours(thanks mainly to Hank!) and this looks pretty close to it on my laptop. I wondered how it compared in real life. Great demo by the way.
It's not that close to fiesta red it's much lighter. His camera makes this strat and the birch green tele darker than they really are

Awesome demo Burgs...how did it stack up against the EJ?
Ooh, the EJ is at the top of the heap, Doc. And priced accordingly, of course. But if you're after a Strat workhorse that plays and looks good, these might be hard to beat for many.
Looks identical to my AM ST 1984.
Nice Burgs!!!
They look and sound the part, unfortunately lve got the first model Player Tele, gd little workhorse.
Studio looks shmick mate!
I'should prefer with a mapple neck... But it's beautiful guitar...Excuse me my english is bad...i'm french...😮💨
I’m so glad Rosewood is back. Was never a fan of Indian Laurel or Pau Ferro.
I don't know anyone who was mate, pau ferro and laurel look dry and anaemic!
There was this dude named Stevie Ray Vaughan that used pau ferro boards but what did he know amirite?
@@ghost_java35 On his 62 Strat.. Pau Ferro?
Don't think so mate!
How bout fretboard experience this time?
First edition was extremely dry and rough. Not any pleasure came from bendings and vibratos.
How it goes now?
How would you compare it to the white Strat in the background?
Another great demo from a sensational player
MIM is kicking goals great colour but pity there is no Sonic Blue
Two questions
Would you giggle with it
Was anything missing from your perspective
player 2 is pretty much usa standard spec from a few years ago

Made in Ensenada. Says it on the headstock. Tuners and saddles are more in line with vintage Fender.

Any chance to hear this guitar through a decent tube amp with maybe one or two pedals....? Not all of us have modelers. Thanks !
What is the song played on intro?
you are so incredible player... totally my dream hero❤❤
you need to get out more...

Drab colors.

Yes, even Andertons said it doesn't feel very rolled he would put it at a level 1 for rolled edges.
Sounds like a modeler. Why does everyone waaaay over use the FX? They all sound like 80’s guitar players from the “Top Gun”sound track.
You say that like it’s a bad thing…
I absolutely hate those yellowed pickups and knobs - they look like an old 1980s PC. Yuk.
No one cares what you think.
@@martinq1920Well you obviously do!
@@richardstaz721 LOL 🤡
I'm with you on that. I like the bright white covers and knobs
