Yeah … lol, nobody said we were smart. The Half Price Books store that we went to was awesome. I was very impressed. Wish we lived closer to one.
Hope all is well with you Steve. Thanks for the video.

Speaking of personal canons...surely it's time for the next instalment of the 100 greatest books of all time?

As a former bookseller, if you would like to hear how a BookTuber in Nova Scotia conducted her first event for her minitruck bookmobile, Ariel Bissett discussed it on her Books Unbound channel on Monday.

Perhaps Michael K Vaughn can change my mind. But the problem that I have with H.P. Lovecraft is that I don’t think he can write.

He has a unique mood and tone but it’s an acquired taste for sure.

This is very entertaining, as I hope I’ve told you many times.
I only wish I had 21 1/2 hours a day to fill with something more interesting than sleep.
Thanks for taking the time to keep us posted.

I like Adam’s content. Sweaters, soft spoken, deeply earnest, authors that everyone has forgotten. At first glance, you wonder if he is going to be diagramming sentences or defending the viability of the semicolon. But once I got used to his pace, I really enjoyed him.

I'm thinking of doing the My Novel Life challenge too. I'm just not sure when if I do decide to.

Hmmm. Sounds like an interesting reading project to read a book for each year you are alive... #1 on Good reads for 1958 Things Fall Apart (The African Trilogy, #1) Chinua Achebe. No time like the present July 11th is the big day.

A great video, thanks Steve! I will watch a few of the listed videos. :) I would love to see you and Katie have some discussion about the Victorians someday, that would have been so much fun!

I think the current push back against religion has less to do with Christianity itself and more how religion in general is playing out in the world. There are huge rightward lurches globally and the very populations pushing things to the right are often times linked quite strongly with religion. There is a moralizing going on and people are responding to these antidemocratic, atavistic forces, shouting "No!", we won't go this way. When religion learns its place, things will calm down.

the “read a book for every year” person has to be Thomas Hardy.

I guess I'm a grumpy old lady because I think the weather is a great topic. Right outside my door, of course, but what's happening any place I have family or friends. (or people I ill wish?).

Hey, this was a lot of fun to check out. And you are the least likely person to seek sponsorship, so your integrity is unimpeachable. That ain’t nothing.
