Perhaps Michael K Vaughn can change my mind. But the problem that I have with H.P. Lovecraft is that I don’t think he can write.
He has a unique mood and tone but it’s an acquired taste for sure.
He sucks balls, for sure.
This is very entertaining, as I hope I’ve told you many times.
I only wish I had 21 1/2 hours a day to fill with something more interesting than sleep.

I like Adam’s content. Sweaters, soft spoken, deeply earnest, authors that everyone has forgotten. At first glance, you wonder if he is going to be diagramming sentences or defending the viability of the semicolon. But once I got used to his pace, I really enjoyed him.
I'm thinking of doing the My Novel Life challenge too. I'm just not sure when if I do decide to.
Hmmm. Sounds like an interesting reading project to read a book for each year you are alive... #1 on Good reads for 1958 Things Fall Apart (The African Trilogy, #1) Chinua Achebe. No time like the present July 11th is the big day.

Now I have an inexplicable desire to go read Antigone.
I think the current push back against religion has less to do with Christianity itself and more how religion in general is playing out in the world. There are huge rightward lurches globally and the very populations pushing things to the right are often times linked quite strongly with religion. There is a moralizing going on and people are responding to these antidemocratic, atavistic forces, shouting "No!", we won't go this way. When religion learns its place, things will calm down.
the “read a book for every year” person has to be Thomas Hardy.
I guess I'm a grumpy old lady because I think the weather is a great topic. Right outside my door, of course, but what's happening any place I have family or friends. (or people I ill wish?).
