    Your explanation of the cage system and the corresponding scales is the clearest and most concise on the internet! Thank you for braking everything down so plainly, especially the rhythm/lead combination. I’ve been wondering for years how that was done. Now I understand the cage system and it’s my new obsession!

    Definitely the best way to put "call and response" on spot.
    Call: end the phrase off the root note.
    Response: end phrase on the root note.
    It's fascinating how rare the concept of call and response is mentioned with this nuance in place.

    • @Samjamguitar
      @Samjamguitar  Год назад

      True! Although not the only way of conveying call and response it certainly helps when starting out with the concept 👍

    • @Samjamguitar
      @Samjamguitar  6 месяцев назад +1

      That would be the case yes! if you think about it logically, the E string has been tuned down by 2 semitones (two frets) so any pattern memorized on this string would also shift down by 2 frets.

    • @Samjamguitar
      @Samjamguitar  6 месяцев назад

      Generally the best notes to bend when you are new to improvising are the notes found on the 7th fret of the G string and the notes found on the 8th fret of both the B and E strings.
      And it's useful to know that you can technically bend ANY note, as long as the pitch you are bending to sounds good👍
