    I was in this situation a year ago. I found a company out in conroe texas called Sheely supply llc. He rebuilds industrial engines and equipment engines. Specializes in doosans mostly. Re rebuilt my d34p for about 15k. My block spun 2 main bearings and 2 rod bearings. They line bored the block to bring it back to spec as you cannot over size those bearings. I highly recommend that company as a rebuilder of doosan motors. Hes one of the few people in the states that has the knowledge and experience to rebuild them.

    The question is why did bobcat stop using Kubota engines? Was it because Doosan purchased Bobcat? Kubota engines were damn good. Our S570, with the Doosan engine, already is showing a rusty fuel rail..it sits in the shop. Our T590 with the Kubota engine..still a pretty blue.

      Really due to Doosan purchasing Bobcat as well as emissions standards.

    • @tommyk1073

      @@crankshaft1053 no, the outside is rusting. Especially where the hard lines thread in.

      @MD_TETRAD_GROUP Год назад

      No these Doosan engines do get rust inside of the rails. We see it all the time due to not draining the water in the fuel water separator often enough. Rust gets in the low pressure pump and in the rail.

    Parts prices are crazy … othe commenter is so correct about small operators being priced out . We just aren’t seeing the margins to be able to afford repairs.

    $26k for the engine alone? Or is that labor too? What’s the breakdown? That seems really high for such a tiny engine.

    What was causing it to not run right low oil pressure, knock senser messing with fueling timing. You said it would run but kept dying. But you drove it off the trailer and into the shop. Should there have been a code for it not running right? Does it have hydraulic lifters which were not being pumped up due to low oil pressure, which would not let it breath correctly. You said it ran but did not sound right. Let us know about this issue. 🧐

    $26K for a new 4-cylinder?! Boy, they know when they got the upper hand! That should leave the rebuild market plenty of room to operate. I would guess that skid steers are not really well maintained by most users unless they are a major portion of their equipment fleet.

    • @Failure_Is_An_Option
      @Failure_Is_An_Option Год назад

      Bobcat is absolute shit. They have no problem fleecing pockets when they have a person bent over. Then you have this clown that claims that 26k is because of the "precision". He should be saying 26k because it is complete minus the ECM. That does lend a bit of credibility... but still a steep premium.

  • @straycat9754

    Can't you get a shortblock? $26k can put a small operator like me out of business. No wonder Sunbelt gets rid of machines before they need repairs like this. I've got a Takeuchi TL8 (tier four) and a BC S300 (pre emissions). Same basic engine. Getting rid of the Tak. Nothing but problems with the emission/fuel system. Can't afford downtime and outside repairs. The BC has nearly three times the hours and never lets me down. Thank the government for the added expense and frustration of operating these modern machine and taking away the joy of ownership. BTW, I will replace the Tak with a pre emissions Tak and proactively spend the money toward keeping it in reliable order. Most of the work I can do myself without depending on proprietary diagnostic equipment and stupidly expensive OEM parts. Even as things get worse I intend to maintain control of my equipment. When that's no longer possible I'll retire or find another occupation.

    • @jmvoltrino
      @jmvoltrino 10 месяцев назад

      yeah I'm surprised by that too. Bare block is $4500, short block is $11700. I understand wanting to warranty your product, but it seems it would have been worth the labor reuse the other components. Reman fuel pumps run about $1000-1500, reman turbos run about $1000 if you wanted to be safe and replace those due to oil contamination. Hypothetically the oil filter should catch much of the contamination.

    $26k ... 1.21 Giggawatts!! Great Scott what are they thinking?! I've seen guys on youtube swap out the doosan for a V8 or Harbor Freight Predator engine. Would be nice to know what kind of hours are on these machines when they fail. I heard that the 'useful life' of the Kubota was around 5k hours. Don't know what the Doosan is. Was this a SunBelt rental machine that was sold off to a customer, or was this a sun belt machine that they were trying to keep running in their own fleet? Surprised that 'accelerometer' sensor didn't detect that atomized bearing. Looked like "FerroFluid" in the bottom of that oil pan.

    Question I have a 2016 s650 that doesn’t throw a code but at full idle it starts to idle up and down and throw black smoke and make a knock sound but when I turn down the idle to about 2000 rpms and it stops doing it and can continue working . Could it be a fuel problem ? Or is it something major I do have a video
