@jimothycool so I’m a former spl player with over 20 years of battling under my belt. I’ve retired from competive mons. But I don’t like the Breeloom hp ghost play vs the ttar. The ttar is phara’d, you’re currently winning the game up a mon, in a favorable match up. Your non para’d mon is worth a lot more than the phara’d. The hp ghost play is nonsense, the correct play is either predict the switch and spore or just kill the ttar. Given the switch is “logically” the correct move and given it’s obvious, your obvious play is spore. At which point the ttar should consider staying in. The risk of losing an already phara’d mon is out weighted by the chance to capture the healthy breeloom, switching is risky as spore is virtual death. And the spore play is likely. As such I think your statically best play is sky upper cut, and either get the kill or info on the team, it’s a very low risk play that is win win for you, you likely can spore most switch’s in anyway
You also get to understand their play patterns and prediction patterns for free. In the early game it’s best to obtain as much information as possible such as sets and team make up, prediction and play patterns of opponents if known. You’re against an unknown ladder player, assuming their prediction and play patterns isn’t always ideal. When players are behind they need to take high risk plays to get back into the game. When given the play with no good solutions they should take the highest upside, which is you click spore and they capture breeloom
you forgot to include one of the gen 3 ou staples in your team, beedrill. if you devolved him into kakuna for your 7th match he would have paired up pretty well into agility sharpedo with the poison sting chip and harden defensive boosts
So, you witnessed my mono-dark team. I'm trying to build mono-teams. It's my own challenge. Meta was boring. I've developed mono-eevees, mono-fossil, mono-ghost and mono-grass too.
I'm not a good content creator, but I'd like to share some insights about each team. They're fun and I'm getting solid wins with some them. Mono-dark is by far the worst and less consistent of my creations. A single Dugtrio, Aero or Medicham can easily ruin the whole team (that's why agily-Sharpedo...). I wish we fight with my other teams someday! Take care anyone reading this.
anyone bringing unique teams and strategies to the ladder is a good chap in my book mono fossil sounds awesome, how do you make it work in gen 3 since there's only 5 fossils? I assume Relicanth?
@@rajkanishu I used Lilliep. It has very strong defenses, mirror coat and some utility moves. It's weak point is it allows enemies to set under substitutes. But answers those water/ice moves very good. I run it with earthquake and max attack. But you gotta pray for that boost.

i misplayed hard, i had lum berry on blaziken so staying in and clicking fire blast would have been the right move. blaziken could have achieved something lol
You were so lucky to get a weird gimmicky mono-Dark team for your last round. I really wanna know what your opponent was thinking when he fought your gimmicky devolved team.
Some of those crits, opponent misplays later on, and 50/50s with destiny bond (let alone the final matchup!) were peak plot armor 🤩 - this was super fun, congrats!

Hello, I'm the opponent. I'm trying to develop mono-themed teams. Yes, mono-dark is truly challenging. I've tried many variants and this is the "best" I found. But you see how weak it still is ("sad" Vigoroth crit tho). Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. :)
I played a lot of mono type in gen 8 which was really fun I wish gen 3 had enough mon variety to support mono type but I don't quite think it does (as evidenced by the lack of a proper mono type ladder) I've tried mono normal in gen 3 but one rogue Blaziken shuts the whole thing down, which I imagine this team struggles with as well Kudos to you for making it happen anyway haha
I feel like this challenge probably would 9f been easier in gen 4 or 5 since you could of had magazine tos tart with instead and had evolved to use for your pokemon as they devolved. Although perhaps that's why you went with gen 3 since it provides a fsir amount of challenge while not being the first 2 gens lol

this team has a 100% winrate just putting that out there

Probably "this is in the bag"
Nah, he may have thought "finally a worthy opponent, out battle will be legendary", the same as when you see a naked opponent in a videogame
kinda funny how the last opponent was using a mono dark team, no wonder it was so ineffective even against a devolved team

dark monotype
I'd love to see this challenge again with a different team!
20:00 Jimothy calls mono dark team not a team of someone doing a challenge.
Ancient power: the only 100% Acc rock moves
Gen 4: would be a shame if that and hidden power rock weren't physical anymore...
Alakazam might be good here? Still has pretty nice special attack and speed as kadabra
2:46 what a weird way to say peanuts...
Ahh the /vp/ donnel rules. You can also do the opposite, use a NFE mon and it has to get a kill to evolve.
This is very cool.
Full dark out here

this is insane folks.
Greatest gaming of all time

A win for the little guys
This isn't insane, this is straight up lunacy
This is evolving.
This is such a cool idea
mr jimothy please do not devolve to this thumbnail style.
I'll stand by my personal challenge to win 7 games in a row AT ALL
What happens if you have a team full of non-evolving pokemon like Aerodactyl? The challenge would most likely be invalidated if I had to guess.

You should have kept on going with Gastly, Slakoth, and Beldum.
what if you use pokemon without pre-evolutions
Thats 6 more mons added to the "better than blaziken" list
