- Recorded on my then brand-new Sony SL-7200 Betamax, Gary Wright performs "Blind Feeling" and "Dream Weaver." Video is a bit noisy, but audio is pretty nice, especially considering it was from off-air TV in 1976.

RIP Gary, I’ve loved your music since I was 15, back in 1981.
So sad to hear of his passing. 🙁
Outstanding!
I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like to be the person who wrote and performed this song.
ah the sounds of youth. The first side of 'the dreamweaver' was nirvana to my 17 year old ears.
That is outstanding! Brought back some awesome memories! Thanks for uploading!
Thanks! It was one of my earliest uploads, but RUclips turned the original 60i into 30p. This new upload corrects that.
ART WOOD on drums….
Remembering Lezlie Gervais....XO
Awesome upload! If you can I'd love to see the Sparks video you have from Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in 60fps. Thanks for posting this!
I’ll do that one tomorrow!
@@VPR2B Thanks!
@@VPR2Bdo you have either of the Devo shows?
@@404TVfr Sorry to say that I do not.
@@VPR2B Damn. Oh well. Also just wanna say, you're what we call "based" for actually deinterlacing these tapes to 60fps. You have no idea how much I hate it when people leave it interlaced. So thanks for preserving history correctly.
guess that the sl-7200 was worth it at the time!
You better believe it!
@@VPR2B what made you choose the betamax over other formats?
@@tyx823 At the time of purchase in 1976, Betamax was the only option - VHS wasn’t available yet. I bought a VHS machine in 1980, but preferred the picture of the SL-7200. Over time, VHS improved to the point where THAT became my preferred format.
Where's Lorna?
So this was taken off KTXL TV40 in Sacramento?
My recollection is that “Rock Concert” was airing on KOVR at the time.
@@VPR2B It was an ABC station back then.
@@JHollowayNetwork You are correct. “Rock Concert” was a syndicated show though, sold to both network affiliates and independent stations.
Does anyone remember who that drummer is?
