So sad to hear of his passing today. Thank you Gary Wright for this timeless song and so many others
Songwriting legend. His music has passed the test of time. Rip
Ever notice that Edgar Winter's playing is the focal point of every song. He's a brilliant musician.
hey mssge me, im 50, was gary wright? involved ,did he play in edgar winter, edumacate me?omg
@@baltimorexanax4472 I do not think he ever played with Edgar Winter as both were key board players.
For sure!!
Only true fans notice stuff like that. I'm pretty fond of him and his fine music!
How can he hit these notes after 40 years? Amazing. Gives me chills
It's not quite what it was but damn good for his age.
Maybe they changed the key to accommodate the singer, although it’s sounds the same to me. Great voice, and at his age is remarkable
Synthesized sound can make almost anyone sound good. My fav is Phantom Writer. Still have both original albums.
@@nobleeffort2.4 True but singing in falsetto is not easy at all.
It's pure talent in there.
Many years of experience for Mr. Wright.
@@LesterNavaMusic yeah especially hitting falsetto at his age
I just cried! I had this album 49 years ago. I have always loved this song. The whole album was the background music of my life. When I play this song everybody sings along. It’s a song that transcends the ages.
My dad had this album, wish I still had all of his albums 😔
@@denisejudd5832 Me Too!
At age 51, this is still in my top 10 songs. Instantly brings me back to a better time.
Agreed At age 67 . Back to a better time.
Same here Boo. I remember the 70’s
Better times indeed. I miss it.
*"Fabulous-Music. PERIOD!♡¡"*
Me too I just turned 54 years old this great song came out in 1972 when I was 3 years old so many great songs came out in the 1970s and 1980s what a great time to be alive
Thank God for youtube. I can't afford to go anywhere but I can enjoy quality music for free.
They just don’t seem to make music like this anymore. A soulful ballad That transitions into a funky chorus great when I was 12. Even greater at 57.
You got me through the night. Thanks Gary, RIP September 2023
The most mystical rock song I have ever heard...
Nights in White Satin
@@kgrose0219
Absolutely. Another powerful song ✅️
RIP gary, what a talent we just lost.....
I have to say I'm very impressed he can still sing that good.
That’s because those singers were the real deal as real as they come. No auto tune. No sir. Listen to how The Eagles main singer sounds and you will see he still sounds himself like before. San smith sounds exactly like his studio recordings as well
Sounds good for sure
Thats Right My friend
Gooooood
I know Right he Can still Sing He sing Good💓💓💓💓
RIP Gary Wright. Such a beautiful song, perfect voice.
RIP Gary Wright. As a boomer, I listened to your music. Was a completely different world back then. Thank you.
Rest in Peace Gary. Thank you for sharing your talent.
i'm in shock right now Singer Gary Wright has died today of Parkingson's disease and Dementia at 80 R.I.P. Gary Wright
One of those magickal songs that helped me through a lot of days of pain….Thankyou, Gary…may you be flying through the astral plane you saw all those years ago, far far past the dark side of the moon. Rest in the Stars….
Love this song rip
RIP Gary! One of the best song ever…😢
Ringo should just call this MILF fest.
Gary hadn't lost a step. What an iconic song - keys can truly rock when played like this...
Dude revolutionized keyboards, the whole 80s decade has him to thank x)
Thank you for writing and singing such amazing music for us, Mr. Wright. We were blessed to have you with us and you can rest easy knowing your music will inspire and uplift countless others across the eons.
OMG....WOWWWW....
After all these years Gary Wright's voice is still strong and amazing🙏
Dream Weaver is my FAVORITE song...the music and words are so mystic that you feel transported😌
Gary Wright is like Jim Diamond (RIP)😢
Their voice is ANGELIC and GOOD for the SOUL❤❤
Dream Weaver also seems to be my favourite song too from Gary Wright-I will love to sing this song in a kareoke or a bar karoeke-It is just so beautiful-Did Gary write and compose this very famous hit song-Or is he only very famous for singing it,and performing it?🤤
Amazing to hear him singing it so flawlessly.
Dream Weaver is one of my all time favorite songs!!
Same. But it's very melancholy. Reminds me of my parents who I miss terribly. I lost them both before my 48th birthday.
Amazed that Gary could still hit those high notes. I used to sing along as a teen. I now have to sing down an octave.
I’ve always loved this song. As a bassist, this bass line really caught my attention. He still sound good. What a classic.
Saw Gary back in the seventies. The bass player was playing a modded Mini Moog.
Love is Alive also has a nice bass line.
I never even NOTICED the bass part before reading your comment. Bet I always will going forward. Thank you! 🎶 🎸 ❤
RIP Gary Wright ... Thank you Great Man for making our lives more pleasant.😢
Stoniest jam, ever. And, Edgar Winter is really amazing how he recreated the keyboard parts. Did you hear the crowd's reaction when Gary said, "Dream Weaver." What a classic.
Edgar Winter is one of the best musician of all times.
In Frankenstein he plays sax, keyboards and drums without missing a beat.

Rest in peace Gary you were a true original and beautiful soul.
I've been listening to this all my life, it's like an old friend, that's always been there. God I love his music, it's timeless.
Wow!!! Gary still looks good after 40 years, and it's absolutely amazing!!! He can still hit those high notes. A truly spectacular and timeless song, that takes me back to camping trips to the coast laying on the beach listening to the waves, and looking up at the night sky with my golden retriever next to me listening to Dreamweaver. Memories I'll cherish forever❤️
Your comment has touched
my ❤, and soul, so deeply.🌌
Thank you, Mark❣️
Happy you gave your pup joy.💞🐾
RIP to a wonderful musician and writer! From my soundtrack of the 70s. What a talent!
Over 40+ years since the release of "The Dream Weaver" and Gary still sounds absolutely incredible. Gary was a pioneer in the use of the synthesizer in mainstream music as the synthesizer was a fairly new and emerging technology. Alan Parsons was also a pioneer in the use of synthesizers in music, most notably on Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon as well as his own incredible success with The Alan Parsons Project teaming Alan's incredible ability with arranging music using synth's and various sounds and tones along with Eric Woolfson's incredible vocal talents. Many musicians unfortunately lose the voice they had when they were young and when they sing later in life....well....you NOTICE the difference. Gary has definitely retained his singing voice for sure as evidenced by this more modern rendition (10 years ago) of The Dream Weaver. In fact, all of the musicians Ringo has in his All Star Band this session have retained their voices. Ringo himself, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Billy Squire, and the rest all have aged gracefully and can still perform as good or better than they did back when they were young. Great job all.
This such a beautiful song. I wish I could go back to that time. I loved the 70's! Take me away! !
Gary Wright what a awesome talent i still get chills whenever i hear Dreamweaver a 50 year old song !!
This song will remain a classic ...the best songs of all times .
In 08' Ringo brought this tour through Nashville. Great show! I did see Gary once before. July 4th, 1976 he opened for Peter Frampton. That show I don't remember very well. Those were my smoking daze. Still have the tkt. stub so I was there. lol
I'm just in awe of Edgar Winter's work with the All-Starr band. He played sax on "Picking Up The Pieces" as if he had played on the original record, and does the same here, recreating Gary Wright's original keyboard arrangement. Not to mention his virtuoso performance with Rick Derringer on his own hit "Frankenstein."
I experienced my first kiss at the tender age of 13, while listening to this song. Later on in life, I sang it in bands. I still love singing along with you, Gary Wright! Thank you for such an awesome song...and really, for all your songs, singing and talent! Xoxo
Great experience. I have read other people saying the same thing.
@Christine Jones + Not to this song, but I completely understand his complete memory of being 13 years old. I remember being 12 years old, roller skating, but actually my fondest memory was of the girl I was kissing for the first time. It was a Friday that ended on Saturday at midnight, and I was lucky enough to spend the night with her. Both of us knowing little of what we were doing, but the magic. I remember my mom's boyfriend taking me to the Ghost story movie, but I was exausted at 1pm on Saturday, because I was up intil 8 am or so. I was tormented by this feeling for this girl for an entire week.
Did you get eaten out?
Dream Weaver and My Love is Alive are great music from the 70's.
RIP to one of the most soulful guys around. Thanks for your incredible music.
A lot of guys who are past their hayday have blown out their voices. This is really really good considering the amount of time which has passed. He sounds really good.
Driver, take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind...
RIP Gary Wright.

Outstanding performance.
Gary Wright has climbed aboard the Dream Weaver train for another plane. RIP, and thanks for sharing your music with us.
66 here, about to retire....my theme song in life, worked for me, still does. Music is timeless and will trigger memories that will get you out of the gloom and into the future....this beautiful song is one of those treasures. Thank you Mt. Wright....wish I could applaud more.
Wonderful, sounds great as he did 30 years ago

Gary Wright - Dream Weaver Lyrics
I have just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
[Chorus]
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high and through the starry skies
Or maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain
[Chorus]
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
[Chorus]
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Dream weaver [x2]
Francisco
I must say, that just may be my all time fav song is man is it a lovely tune
Francisco I took an English course a few years ago. The teacher wanted us to do an analysis of a song. I chose this one. She kept having me rewrite it. Believe me, I analyzed the heck out of it by the time I was finished.
mega bass line...and best of all is Gary & the sweepin synths. God Blessed you in writing this iconic 70s track
Great song - one of my all time favorites - may peace and comfort be with his family during this difficult time - another legend gone
Great song, great artist, ...R.I.P. Gary 🙏🎶
Freaking amazing back story, had no idea 😮😮😮. One of the intense songs of all time. Listen to his voice after all these years, amazing.
Gary RIP brother, you were a big part of my childhood you gave us dreams of boarding that dreamweaver train now you are boarding that Dreamweaver train to heaven❤🌹😢
Saw him in concert, Jacksonville fla. Mid 70s. I was standing about 6 feet away, singing every word. And dancing. Those were the days. Thanks for the memories, Gary.
Time ,,,,it touches us all,,,I’m 53 today 4-1-22 and still listening to some all time favorites Dream Weaver!!!!!
RIP… the songs of my youth… 💔❤️💔❤️
Gary Wright just passed away @ 80 years old. He has a lot of company at " The Pearly Gates" Sympathies to his family.❤
That was extremely good. Amazing tune!
RIP Gary! Thank you for the music!
R.I.P thanks for the memories
I have a 3 year old granddaughter. And I used to sing this song. To my daughter when she was a baby. To rock her to sleep. And now that baby is 24 now. And she sings the song to her daughter too.
I love how different the chorus is from the rest of the song, sounds so cool!
OMG Edgar Winter does an amazing job on the keyboards for this. They could have used him on the original. Wonder why Gary is not playing himself?
Just don”t need it, there’s Edgar
Ringo Starr on drums. Edgar Winter on keyboards. Gary Wright doing vocals. What could go wrong.... NOT A DAMN THING!
Outstanding!
His voice has aged beautifully. This song always touches something deep inside me
There was a kid in my high school named Jeff Weaver in the late 70s, and every time somebody saw him, they'd start singing Dream Weaver.
Vic Such are the memories of high school.
@@keythdanielsen8316 + And those memories of high school are strong memories.
You must have been at a very cool High School. That's lovely. At my High School in Australia - There were many kids who were bashed every day by the footy team and the the teachers. They were the lucky ones who weren't getting raped by the local Catholic Priests
Lol
Edgar Winter was the best call for this band.
I just love the musical arrangement in the song! 10th grade 1976,,,
For me...junior high 1970s... still love the song!
One of my all-time favorite songs, having heard it for the first time as a small child. For me, something about it just sets a brilliant mood and comes together as the perfect '70s imaginative cosmic ensemble of dreamy space. It's one of the facets of my childhood that helped to make everything seem possible. The volume knob immediately goes up when this song comes on the radio.
The best place on earth to see a live outside concert.
Rest in Peace, Gary Wright🙏
Absolutely nailed it again.
Great song. Thanks for the tunes. RIP
Edgar Freaking Winter - are you serious? Simply killed an absolutely iconic song. What a gem!
This song has alot of meaning to all. Its priceless. God has an amazing band in the after life for sure. Ty for sharing this. 😊
I love the saltiness of his voice.
Sounds GREAT!💜✨💙
Goose bumps listening to this song love it
GARY'S SINGING VOICE WILL BE
ENJOYED FOREVER..💙🎶 RIP
I will never stop loving this song - and album. I was in grade school when it came out but I promptly bought the album and played it so often I had to replace it three times over the years. It is beautifully ethereal. As an adult, I still lay inches from my Monitor Audio speakers and am in heaven. I still have the album and CD, and I have it on iTunes as well. This music transcends time.
Always loved this song. Gary's telling of the Harrison connection adds gravitas that I felt from the song in the past but now makes perfect sense. Edgar Winter is a consummate keyboardist.
Awesome I thought I was back in the good old days
This song always reminds me of summers as a kid, just love it. Thank you Gary and RIP.
Always loved this song
Gary sounds exactly the same as he did in '75.
Did in '72 The first time
better!
Very Nice. Edgar Winter is awesome.
RIP Gary Wright, thanks for the dreamy music
One of my all time favorite songs! Deserves way more views!
Gary is a legend, his love is still alive in all if us.
I had no idea Gary wright was still living hes got good music.
I searched way too long to find this version with the badass intro explanation. It's a must to get the full concert experience! Saw him at Sail Rock in 2013 and was amazing
killer band and...All star ( ringo &)...Killer song....
one of the most beautyful songs i ve' ever heard, thankyou Mr.Wright for those beautyful memories
Just found this. Holy crap! His voice! His songwriting! This song likely kept me from doing myself in years ago. So sad he is gone.
Sadly we have lost another great professional in Gary, he achieved more than many people know but never forgotten with this music, almost a cult song.
