Billy Squier and Colin Hay on rhythm guitars, Edgar Winter on keyboards, Ringo on drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
INSANE!
Incredible lineup
Greg bisonette too
I was in middle school in a small town in Texas when I first heard Billy Squire. Only country and western music on one radio station. People "smuggled" in rock cassette tapes. I have loved his music ever since because of the energy it gave me at such an important time of my life.
Hamish Stuart on Bass too
R.I.P. Gary Wright (Apr 26, 1943 - Sept 4, 2023) - thanks for the incredible music!!! 💜
RIP Gary Wright. God bless Ringo for giving so many musicians one more day in the sun!🙏
This was pure perfection, & Gary's enthusiasm was infectious! His music was the soundtrack to my childhood in the 70s & my heart is breaking at his passing. Farewell, Mr. Wright... til we all meet again on the Dream Weaver Train. RIP 💔
We are losing too darned many of our greats. Gary & Mr. Margaritaville Buffet just days apart. Randy Meisner recently & others earlier this year.
Same! My very first record in fact - a 45 I still have to this day! Waa only 6 or 7 & played it endlessly on my Kermit green record player...
So sad to see him go. Not much younger than my dad who's 84 now. Time's clearly winning we must enjoy every day no telling what tomorrow brings!
Rip Mr Gary Genius Wright
And that boys and girls, is how it’s done! Real musicians and real vocalists doing what they love. Make no mistake, everyone on that stage is having a blast, and that’s because they all love making people happy by playing REAL music with REAL musical instruments. Absolutely no auto tuned vocals, and no drum machines needed!
IMHO this is the absolute best version/performance of “My Love is Alive” (at least that I’ve ever heard), and I believe that thick and heavy guitar part being laid down by Billy Squire plays a huge role of the greatness. Not to mention having two heavy hitting drummers, and the layered backing vocals. Please allow me to reiterate, this is how it’s done!
...agreed! This is real pop music, played by real people, having way too much fun...which is the way it SHOULD be!
i agree intro was great. great performance. your right , real music.
It only gets better as time goes on. OMG what music used to be!! We are so lucky to have grown up during such times.
I'm fairly certain that only the vocals and drums were live. Everything else was recorded background.
Hopefully no drum machine with 2 drummers. I like the blonde women on keyboard
Gary's enthusiasm when he sings is absolutely contagious!
I totally agree! Sounds great!
I'd say his voice has aged pretty well compared to some
Pleasantly surprised. He still sounds REALLY good.
This is from 2011. Wonder what he sounds like today, which BTW is his 78th birthday (born 4-26-43)?
Looks pretty dam good too!👍
Gary looks like he is having the time of his life! Love this music!
He's 65 in this video!! Unbelievable voice for that age!!!
Especially when he's doing his Dream Weaver album. It's not easy to sound similar to when we're 33 as we age
Love is Eternal , Magical in Music , born of love, from love, in Love.
Peace , Love, Gratitude 💜🌻🌈🙂🙏🏼
This is a great song! Brings me right back to the spring of ‘76! Lots of fun then! ❤
I skipped out on church one Sunday ( got as far as the parking lot and then chickened out and left ) Then drove to a Best Buy store and was looking at the CD'S and this song came on over the store sound system and tears just poured out uncontrollably. I thought "What is going on". It was a very real "marker" in my life I will never forget. Today? I'm walking hand in hand with my savior and lord and love him with ALL my heart! May someone come to faith through my testimony. HE REALLY LOVES US!!!!!!!!!

And I love you
*"God Almighty Bless You Abundantly Bruce"*
OMG, the density of the legend and talent on stage that night is insane. Wow!
Thank you Ringo for bringing these great artists back!
Gary was great friends with George Harrison and played on many of his solo albums. Ringo knew that!!!
RIP GARY WRIGHT ! Dreamweaver album is one of my favorites. Very talented musician whose music will live on forever 🎙🎹📻
Yes, May he rest in heavenly peace! I loved him, he will be missed. So happy for his music .... ❤
Damn!!! Love this song! Still sounds great 43 years later! Bad ass rhythms!
His voice has not aged a bit! One of my all-time favorite songs!
I agree! He sounds awesome...one of my all time favs also!!!
I saw Gary perform a couple of shows back in the '70s as an opening act for Peter Frampton and Yes. Aside from a drummer, he had a couple of other guys in jumpsuits playing these massive keyboard setups. I believe one of those guys was none other than Steve Porcaro. The sound from those early, analog synthesizers like the Prophets and Moogs, was incredibly powerful. When Gary and his jumpsuited-buddies launched into this song, you could literally feel the ground shake; it was startling. It's good to see him out there still doing his thing and weaving those dreams.
TY so much for sharing this juicy tidbit
yes a very very young Steve Porcaro
Thank you for sharing that, tswrench! There's one of those performances from the time -- with the young Steve Porcaro -- here on youtube; you'll really dig it if you ain't already seen it by now...
Being a guy who's sometimes had his own bands playing original material (as a keyboardist), i can tell you that just watching that video of those gods of the craft lugging around those super-heavy controller keyboards of the day, grooving out all casual and nonchalant like it ain't nothin' is a real spiritual experience for me. Maybe it sounds silly, but i try to watch that version only every year or two for fear of getting burnt out or otherwise immune to that feeling it inspires in me.
@@keykrazy -- If the performance vid you're referring to opens with fans filling an outdoor stadium, I was at that show in San Diego in 1977, and that's the one I had in mind in my post. Play on, brother!
Yes was an opening act for Gary Wright Really?? They were huge at that time.
Gary Wright God Bless Your Immortal Soul 💞 Love Never Dies 🫂! I just discovered he has passed into Spirit he lives on ... His musical 🎶 talent has a Spiritual Quality and I've Loved this song ever since it was created. It has another very Special meaning for me now since it came up in my music feed after a dream visit from my Husband few days ago ..He is also in Spirit 💖
Man this version is good.
You can tell his voice is working a little harder nowadays. But, man, he's still got it! Great voice!
SuperCaptainMega 40 years later.....I'd take it
I was 10. And this song was unlike any other on the radio at that time. Timeless.
Gary acts like he just got that keyboard for Christmas! So good and such a good entertainer.
Yes I agree 😊 Great comment ... So cute he has a smile from ear to ear 😁
One of the greatest songs ever!
Wow....this song brings back memories of being 10 years old in 1976 and hearing this song on the radio alot back then. I also heard this song blaring on the loudspeakers at the local swimming pool I used to hang out with as a kid with my childhood friends and siblings...Oh those fond memories of childhood in the hot summer of 1976...
I’m with you; was 10 in the summer of ‘76 as well.. So grateful for the memories and the songs that key them.
I was too a 10 year old in America’s magical Bicentennial year of 1976; ah childhood and the lingering memories of those childhood dreams, both musical and cultural...
@@jeffkaufman8489 the Bicentennial sure doesn't mean much to todays youth. 😔
Billy Squire on Guitar!!!
Did he kidnap and replace Billy Squier?
Tuff groove. Great vocal performance. Great live rendition. Iconic tune from the 70's. Unforgettable.
A group of true immortals on stage.
I've been to many of Ringo's all star band concerts over the years and they Rock a must see event for anyone of all ages
I love how much fun the entire band is having during this song.
RIP Gary 😢 Thank you for the music...
Hot damn! The only guy who can make a Roland Keytar be cool.
Need to check you out some Jan Hammer. He was going toe-to-toe with guitarists like Al Di Meola, Jeff Beck, and Neal Schon in the '70s and '80s.
@@hubbsllc i shall. Have been watching stage Led Zepplin video's on the big screen too. Talk about some awesome stuff....
Another songwriting legend. RIP. we will miss you Gary but your songs will live on.
wow...pioneers: Gary Wright, Edgar Winter, Ringo Starr, Billy Squire, etc. Good group jam of Gary Wright song. I would pay to experience that group concert.
I thought that was Edgar. I love Billy, too.
was totally worth it!!!!!!!
Gary's big smile says it all ....
He's closed his eyes for the final time and boarded the Dream Weaver Train. RIP Mr. Wright.
This is musical excellence! Ringo Starr and his All Star Band shows are always filled with great performances like this. I was so sad to hear of Gary's passing. His Dream Weaver album was part of the soundtrack of my teenage years. I saw him in concert a couple of times back in the day, he opened for Peter Frampton and for The Edgar Winter Group.
I recall seeing Gary open for Peter Frampton in 1976, I looked across the stage and realized that there wasn’t a guitar on the stage, it was all keyboards. But, I loved it🔥
It wasn’t until approx 20 yrs ago that I discovered this tune only had the synthesizer & drums in it-AMAZING artistry!!!
Saw him too same tour with Santana, fantastic 💗🤍💗
Sadly I never RUclips Gary wright live until he had passed away. Wow am I impressed. The dude is an incredible singer
Always loved this song back in the 70's ,so great to see all this talent on one stage having a blast!
Superior to anything today. Pure talent.
A masterful, joyous rendition of a great, iconic rock epic. 👍👍 Thank you for the Music, Dream Weaver. 😎 💙 ... R.I.PARADISE, good Sir. 🙏 🌈 🕊 🥂
RIP Gary Wright, September 4, 2023
Our Love for You is Still Alive Gary Wright! RIP
My 8 year old daughter loves this song and knows it by heart
Listen to the drumming on this song, it’s Amazing how in sync Ringo and Greg Bissonette are.....
Agreed. I play drums myself I watched as they both hit the high hat then the bell on crash. Perfect as it gets anyone who ever said Ringo was an average drummer has never played em. And sadly folks have said that just jealous I'd say lol. They were as one. In rhythm and slapping skins. Couldn't ask for better. Sorry I get carried away over some good Ringo lol
@@TonyVaughn-zp8kzmost people don’t realize how difficult it is to have two drummers on the same song, especially Live, where one missed beat would ruin the song... This is simply incredible, and Ringo makes drumming look so cool
Yeah, that’s Greg’s doing. He’s playing to Ringo’s limited range and effectively enhancing it.
@chuckstruzzieri8397 yeah that things goin like the jukebox on the actual recording..it just stays pro in the pocket period
Reflecting the love that you shine on me...
RIP Gary Wright.
this song is bad ass I love it
I agree
To be 12 yrs old again. Life was good. 1976.
Bad azzzz!!!
timothy myers
I was also 12 and I sure do miss those days of mischief, innocence, pushing boundaries and coming of age. Sigh.., 🤔we’re pretty ancient, Lol! The cool thing is I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone of today’s youthful generation. The music and memories of life experiences in the 60s, 70s, 80s etc., was just too good to pass 🙃 up!
Have a Nice 😊 Day!
We're smiling upwards to you today, Gary. Rest easy, pal.
Damn, all the '70s musical icons are passing away! Fortunately their music lives so all the Ticky Tockers can appreciate what real music sounds like. RIP Gary Wright.
This song and the Eagles ( Randy Miesner) “ Take it to the limit” are my two very favorites of all time!!!! ❤
Mine as well! RIP TO BOTH.😢
What a great song from the 70s. He still had this great voice and energy 40 or so years later. RIP Gary Wright
I loved Dream Weaver and it is so hard to believe that Gary Wright has passed away as he was so talented and may you RIP
rest in peace gary....you were one of a kind!
RIP❤😢 Mr. Wright. (Dreamweaver fan forever 🎉)
RIP Great Master !!! Gary Wright FOREVER !!!
Gary still sounds awesome.

One of the greatest records ever made!

Indeed.
Wow! This brings back so much memories, I close my eyes and I'm a teenager first time out on my own, living in Desert Hot Springs and dancing to this song in clubs in Palm Springs. I would be walking down the streets of Palm Springs at night during the summer time, and this song would come on my little portable radio, it set the mood so right and I've always loved listening to Gary's songs and dancing to them.
Since I was a teenager I have always wanted to see Gary in concert and never have had a chance to, I am now 63 years old and I still love listening to his music and dancing to them. He always knows how to set the moood just right.
Love Gary Wright!
Never get tired of his music... Love it
Gary's still got it , fine tune!
R.I.P. Mr. Wright. Thanks for the music.😢😢
When I discovered the Dream Weaver album, I realized his voice is amazing.
RIP Gary, a huge talent to be missed..
Gary Wright was a spiritual man, and it shines through his music. What a combination of groovin' a beat and touching the heart. Does it to me now as it did when I was a kid. The Dreamweaver has taken you to the other side. Blessings upon you.
Boy what a concert that would have been to attend with all those guys on stage.
That keyboard bass holy cow!!! Grew up listening to great music as a kid in the 70's.
Ageless voice. Love this song! 🤘
Golden pipes.
