    For the record, parallel Voltage sources don't cut the voltage in half, it would still be the 9.6V going to the motor; however, it can deliver a higher current when in parallel / will las longer than 1 battery pack.

  • @ACrazySpider
    @ACrazySpider  12 лет назад +8

    yes, you will have half the total voltage of the batteries you are using. If i was unclear on that i apologize . I intended to express that if you hook two 9.6 volts up in parallel you will only get an output of 9.6 volts vs in series you will have 19.2 volts. I hope this help you or anyone else out who had doubts.

  • @thedeadlego59
    @thedeadlego59 11 лет назад +11

    2 things that would help you,
    1. Depending on the size of the motor you can get a cooling fan for it and attach to the out side of the body and just cut a hole in the body by the motor.
    2. take the spacers in the batter pack out, it comes apart easily, and hook you batteries up to it, would make it a little better and I think a lot more fun during nerf wars

    No in parallel you would still have 9.6v but you would double the capacity and amperage that can be delivered. In series voltage is added together but current remains the same as 1 pack. To the people who think a 9v battery like you find in your smoke detector would be good they deliver 150mA at best a d battery can do 500mA rechargeable nimh and lithium batteries do about 1500mA and lithium batteries like you use for helicopters can do 10,000mA-50,000mA. When your gun jams and the motors stop the current they draw jumps up typically around 10,000mA.
    Also voltage = rpm and amperage= torque with dc motors.

  • @GremlinSciences
    @GremlinSciences 11 лет назад

    car batteries actually only run around 12 volts, they just have high durability and rarely explode from being over-charged. I'm sure if you really searched around you could find a 24 volt battery for like a boat or a camper but those are around 2 or 3 times the size of a car battery and are quite expensive. Just connect a third battery pack and you get 28.8 volts from around the same size and weight as the original tray with lightweight batteries

  • @H3xx99
    @H3xx99 12 лет назад

    Wiring in parallel will not cut the voltage in half, it will double the battery life. you'll still have 9.6v, but both batteries will only be working half as hard, and therefore last twice as long. I used this principle with my minty boost. instead of two AA batteries in series, I used two sets of two batteries in parallel. double charging life, still 5.5 volts to my phone.

  • @cooldude20115
    @cooldude20115 9 лет назад

    For making it absolutely plum crazy rate of fire, use a 6 cell lipo 22.2v battery. Those are designed for some of the most powerful rc cars, some capable of going past 100mph (160kph) so it should make the rate of fire on a vulcan even higher.

  • @cab4

    Yes, running the motor for too long like that will melt the motor winding insulation, and it would be impossible to repair without finding a new motor. I'd be curious to see how long that gun could last shooting at that rate, but its probably not worth the headache to test it.

    A normal car batterie has about 12 V; The 2 RC batteriepacks are having about 19 V. To improve the power again you have to use 2 Car batteries or a stronger one with 24 V. If you want to improwe the rate of fire extreme, just plug it into a socket and let your enemies feel the power of 230 V.

    @KhReKK09 No they are not the highest you can get they are one of the most commonly available. if you plan on doing that you might want to not do this mod because it becomes hard for the gun to pull the chain if it is not held or in the normal holder box. you could give it a shot but i would recommend not going the full 18 volts try 12 or so first. It should still shoot fast but you might have trouble pulling the chain is all.

    Instead of using those clips, you should go to a hobby shop or even online, and get the male counterpart to the clips on the batteries and do a little soldering, so they wont come loose, but easy to disconnect for charging.

  • @ACrazySpider
    @ACrazySpider  13 лет назад

    @Coyo1233 Im sorry but you are wrong sir. First of all a car battery is not huge on voltage unless you are talking bout a battery for an electric car thats a different story. Car batteries are essentially the same as an other battery with the same voltage they just last allot longer. And this will not melt your gun unless your run it constantly for more than a couple of minutes. If you knew how an electric motor works you would understand what i am saying. Feel free to look it up.

    Could always find a higher volt motor of the same physical size and a higher torque rating. That'd solve the over heating problem, either that, another way would be to change the gearing, or to mount heatsinks on the motor and whatever else needs it, a long with cutting vents into the body, and if absolutly nessisary putting fans on it

    The stampede has a safety system built into it so that when the the trigger is pulled the bolt of the blaster will cycle completely to avoid jams and keep the blaster operation well. The problem is when you hook up batteries to a stampede if the voltage is to high the motor will start and run but the momentum of the bolt keeps moving when it should stop then due to the safety it will keep cycling. There is no fix for this other than a lover voltage. If you find a fix great, i don't know one

    If you use more than 9.6 volt batteries your gun will melt. DO NOT be stupid and hook it up to a car battery. Your whole gun will melt, no doubt about it. Remember, 9.6 volts is the max amount of volts if you want to keep your Nerf gun without melting it.
