The first time I had Falafel it was awful, than I found a place that made it the correct way. Now I love it, the pandemic hit and now I can't afford to buy it so I found your video, fellowed the steps . Now I get 5 times the Falafel for the price of one order of take out. thanks, great recipe
Awesome! I am so glad!!
Yours probably tastes better than the store bought falafel.
We live in Greenwich Village.... The best Falafel on the planet is at Mamoun's a block from Washington Square Park... Family owned for around 100 years, same place. same recipe, always amazing! Go there, cash only!!! LOL! I am making my own fresh today. Soaked my Garbanzo overnight. 12 hours. Nice video young lady, The Mediterranean Dish. I may just add a little bit of ingredients from this video to liven it up.
You can also save money making your own Oatmilk and Oatmilk yogurt.
Where in the world do you live that falafel isn't like $7?
Suzy OMG!!! These are amazing!!
I’m Australian and my father-n-law is Egyptian. He, along with my husband, kids and family were very impressed! You saved my life ❤️
I have made them before, with another recipe, but they fell apart.
For anybody attempting these, I did it without the baking powder/sesame seeds and they were still beautifully moist and to die for!!!!!
Make sure you strain them and dry in a big tea towel before blending.
And they will fall apart if you don’t refrigerate in balls before frying I put them in the fridge for 1 hour
🙏❤️🙏
Aw yay! Thank you so much for sharing!
I put the chic peas through a fine meat grinder and add some water.
Love your recipes! I've been eating Mediterranean since January (1 year) and I've lost 40 pounds. It's been so easy. Your recipes are delicious and you made it enjoyable! love eating Mediterranean! Thank you.
Annemarie Schultheis so happy to hear it! Thank you so much 🙏
A long time lover of falafel I've read many different recipes and eggs, flour, dried parsley/garlic and canned chickpeas just do not make authentic falafel. I'm glad people at least are trying, experimenting and using what they have at least, to each their own, I'm in no way a foodie snob but this recipe works for me. Thank you!
I just found your site a couple of weeks ago and I've made your chicken gyro, tahini sauce, and falafel recipes. Every recipe is a perfect 5/5. Top-notch and authentic tasting recipes. You are going to save me $40 a week because I can make my own falafel pockets now. Thank you so much!
Bread and meat is usually never a bad combo
I LOVE your cookbook, thank you so much! It is my favorite cookbook of all time and I have a ton. We make recipes from it every single week-so healthy and delicious!!

This is the first time I have made falafels. I remember living in NYC in the 80s and the 90s and the street vendors used to sell them and BOY! they were so good. Well, these taste just like those back then. I added more spices and seasonings, but what really helped tne mixture to adhere is a small amount of water while blendi g in the food processor.😊
Awesome! 😊 I am so glad you emjoyed them!
Which spices did you add?
Great recipe, I made this tonight and all of your instructions on your blog were super helpful. I am now following you here on youtube after finding the falafel recipe in a google search. Looking forward to making more of your recipes.

Sorry just saw this. I actually did patties. Try 350 degrees for 7-10 mins . Adjust accordingly. * they continue to cook a little even after removing from the oven.
Congratulations to both of you. I like the way you explain the Recipe so clear and easy to make it.
Thanks again.

I knew instantly, this was the falafel recipe I have been looking for all over the internet. In my country, we have a variety of fried dumplings made of different types of (soaked) lentils and pakoras made of dried chickpea flour called besan but I have never had authentic falafel before. I'm surely gonna make this!🥰
I’m sure you’ll love it! 😃

This recipe makes delicious falafels! I made it this evening and it came out tasting perfect: full of flavor and with a crisp texture! Thank you so much for sharing!
James De Ricco - what kind of bowl did you soak your chickpeas in? After 26 hours mine are still hard. I've soaked them in a metal big bowl with lots of water and baking soda. Any suggestions? Thanks
@@sylviacarlson3561 I soaked mine in a large stainless steel pan (with high sides) for less than 24 hours with salt and baking soda. They did not become as soft as they would when cooked, but that's okay: my blender was able to process them anyway and the falafels came out great. Maybe your food processor or blender can handle the hard soaked chickpeas anyway?
@@jamesdericco3817 - Thank you James. I will try this today and see what happens.
@@sylviacarlson3561 Sounds like your chickpeas may have been too old. All beans, when they get too old they will never soften regardless how long you soak & cook them.
@@lxmzhg Thank you sweetie! I got them from a bin at a health food store, but who knows how long they've been in there.
Thank you!! I Gotta say I tried this recipe and it was delicious! 😋😋
So glad you liked it!
