lol i couldn't help but laugh at when you said you got the jaguar to work *in real life* lol you're not a cartoon or video game character although it would be cool having a game where we play as you shooting games getting pissed off at everything
Stevie Vehorn The guy in that game is Rouge from the X Men, only with orange hair xD the greren outfit, the yellow boots, the brown jacket hahahahahahahaha xD
I'm almost sure James intended to do A Nerd episode of Highlander but I think he must have forgot. that game is basically Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde, but 3-D. So much material
Oh, I remember the Highlander game. Spoony reviewed it once. Apparently, as soon as he was finished recording footage for the review, bam, the Jaguar CD died and there was nothing he could do to fix it.
This console didn't just flop it fell flat on it's face, that Jaguar CD add on was discontinued before it even went on sale in the country I live in, it never even made it into the stores.
I still come back to this OG video of James and Mike Mondays for the laugh of Highlander. This was one of the funniest ones I've seen and it still holds up lmao
Just shows Miyamoto's spot on thinking that a 3d flyer (any of these early stage types) needs direction, hence part of why he put Starfox kinda on rails.
The dental company bought the molds for the Jaguar and cast white cases with a few minor adjustments. They aren't regular cases painted white. I have one I bought off the company. The actual metal molds came up for sale once or twice but were asking a huge sum!
the amount of power the jaguar provided was truly overwhelming, way ahead of its time. most developers only knew how to use about 50 of the bits. had they gone with the full 64, people probably couldnt tell real life from playing jaguar.
I'm pretty sure two RISC 32-bit processors (I think it has) won't equal actual 64 bit processors. It may have an advantage against traditional 32 bit console CPUs, but not as powerful as a native 64 bit processor. Regardless, the rest of the hardware was undoubtedly inferior to the later 32-64 bit consoles and wouldn't come close in performance.
I knew someone that bought the Jagaur as soon as it came out, was playing Doom and Aliens vs Predator, bearing in mind all we had played up to this point was Snes and Mega Drive, it blew our minds.
I'm literally talking about the 80s-90s. Computers were not better than consoles until 2000s and later on. XP was king. Windows 98 couldn't do jack back then. Dial up and AOL.
One of my favourite episodes of J&M to come back to every once in a while and laugh my ass off at that Highlander part :D. Must have watched this one a good 10+ times over the years.
I got my Jaguar at launch, still own it and working great. I got a Jaguar CD at launch and it is one of the most quiet, efficient drives I have ever played on and works perfectly to this day. Starfox was good but nowhere near the technical level of Battlemorph. Unfortunately the Jag CD came out late in the very short Jaguar lifespan so very few games but a good collectors piece and worth noting games are still being released on Jag and Jag CD on homebrew.
The draw distance in Battlemorph is abysmal; non-existent. I thought SM64 on N64 had bad draw distance, when you’re flying, trying to get coins; but, just *WOW!*
This is the first James and Mike video i actually watched after getting curious about any of the jaguar cds working and I love the contrast between the two video from James. this is like the laid back weekend at a friends house after renting a shitty game and just laughing at how bad it is. I gotta say, i love this bit now

He's half-right about the dental equipment thing. They didn't use the shells from Jaguars and painted them white. They actually used the molding plates used to make the shells for the Jaguar to make shells for their equipment, not to mention they also used the plates for the cartridges to make memory cards for the same equipment.
Literary everyone complains about your driving in GTA. Whether you drive like a madman or like a civilized being. Ryder will bitch about your driving. Then there is Toreno about your flying.
A bunch of these Jaguar consoles ended up in kiddie rides like the white semi trucks that were in Walmart stores in the 90s. Carousel Amusements in Eldon MO built quite a few of them.
I had a Jaguar CD and a handful of games for it, but the only thing I ever used it for was to play music CDs. The audio-visualizer in it was actually pretty decent.

Cause there can be ONLY ONE!

One of the most savage summaries of a game I've ever heard.
I could listen to James and Mike crack each other up all day.

InvaderPet yeah, or at least it was. if not, it's definitely on his website. well worth watching, very funny.
Jeffery Phillips Meaning the guy he stole his footage from didn't have any more games recorded.
It is on RUclips. The game is brutally bad.
Tfw a game is so bad that it drives a game system to suicide.
"So you're in a tank, on the deathstar, shooting oranges." I laughed so hard
Fun fact: Blue Lightning was the pack in game for the Atari Jaguar CD.

Just shows Miyamoto's spot on thinking that a 3d flyer (any of these early stage types) needs direction, hence part of why he put Starfox kinda on rails.
Miyamoto had minimal involvement in that game, just saying.
The dental company bought the molds for the Jaguar and cast white cases with a few minor adjustments. They aren't regular cases painted white. I have one I bought off the company. The actual metal molds came up for sale once or twice but were asking a huge sum!

When your vintage consoles are more fun than the modern ones, you're doing something horribly wrong, ATARI.
