  • We examine the text upon which Thomas Watson based his work, ''Heaven Taken by Storm''. We see:
    * First, that the preaching of John and Jesus (and the disciples) moved many of those who heard to press forward into the kingdom.
    * Second, what it means that they pressed forward into the kingdom.
We are all urged to follow the examples presented to us in Scripture, and to do whatever it takes to press forward into heaven, making sure that we are among those for whom Christ laid down His life.
See the evening lecture (gcmodesto.sermons.io/sermons/t...) to learn more about Watson and the theme of his work.

Yes, it’s by the grace of God we overcome our sins.

"God's kingdom is the direct object of unbelieving hostility.
As the kingdom faced hostility then, so does it now. But believers can confidently rest in God's triumph over evil, sin, and death itself in the Lord Jesus Christ. Whatever opposition the kingdom and its subjects may face, Job's declaration to the Lord remains true: "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted" (Job 42:2)."

John had disciples from jail? or messengers?
how many books $ did he promoted in this video? I was looking for a clear interpretation. I'll give him a 👍 for the effort
    But that's not very accurate

The Kingdom of Heaven is NOT the same as the Kingdom of God.Matthew is an Old Testament Book, and not speaking of the Gospel. Kingdom of Heaven is a physical place that can be taken by force, but not the Kingdom of God which is spiritual. Rightly divide the Word.

Very insightful and correct. Here’s my take on it. These forceful and violent men are the charismatics; the pied pipers of the evangelical world. Most of them don’t belong in their position, hence the term “take it by force”. They seek mainly power and adoration not spirituality. However, they are good at what they do so God uses their selfish ambition to advance his kingdom.
These men tend to be narcissistic with very little to no empathy. So, while they are good at converting people, because of their diminished empathy, they are violent to the soul, hence the term “ violent men”.

Trust and believe in the love of God, repent fully, and believe that Jesus loves and needs you, for His kingdom to be strong for the gospel.

Dear Tracy, this teaching becomes clear when you realize that Yeshua is a Jewish Rabbi and he taught in the Rabbinical style of "Agadot" [parables]. Rabbi Yeshua was speaking of Malachi 2:12-13. The English translation leaves us with only questions, but the Hebrew says this: "From the days of Yochanan HaMatbil until now the kingdom of heaven "breaks forth" and those breaking forth take hold on it". Yeshua announced the coming kingdom of God and this sparked revival in Israel after 400 years of silence since the last Prophet.
