Being a Christian is hard, very hard, at least for me.The only pleasure I have is I enjoy relating with Jesus, hear Him 'speak' through His word, His confirmations, prayer and a dream here and there. It is not a jolly walk in the park. Please don't troll me, this is my experience❤️
The benefits though are worth it. Let me get lost in the Savior than in the world and it's pleasures

Compared to every other ‘religion’ yes it is easy. Every other religion is merely a discipline but in Christ we have reconciliation with God.

Another thing I thought of with these opposing statements is Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. There is an active seeking and savoring after Christ. It is daily. We fight against our flesh with this because the world attacks and detracts from our "seeking" of Him.

To me, *John* *16:22* seems to echo this connection made between *Matthew* *7:14* and *Matthew* *11:30**.*
*Jn.* *16:22* "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer; for I have overcome the world.”
I've often heard others say, "Jesus said that as long as we are in this world, we will have tribulations." But then they don't even mention that Jesus first said that in Him we will have peace. And AFTER mentioning that we would have tribulation, there's encouragement to be cheerful. Why be cheerful? Because He has overcome the world, and we are in him.
This may sound strange, but I've found it helpful to think of myself being in Jesus, sort of like a forcefield in Star Wars (Sshoom! Pew pew).
So that even though I am in this world, I am first within Christ. Meaning because of Jesus, there is a protective barrier between myself and the world. He is my shield.
An astronaut can safely be in space, as long as he's in his spacesuit. So the effect of space (the vacuum and the cold) are in a way irrelevant to the astronaut.
So whenever I experience difficulty, I say to myself, "Lord, I abide in you and you have overcome the world. Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light."
It's easy to rejoice in tribulations (Romans 5:3) when we abide in Him. And if I'm not feeling peace, joy, rest in the midst of tribulations, it's because there's something I'm not understanding. There's no condemnation or guilt in that. It's an inspiration/encouragement that there's something deeper in Christ I have yet to discover.

    2 Corinth 4:
17 This light, temporary nature of our suffering is producing for us an everlasting weight of glory, far beyond any comparison,
18 because we do not look for things that can be seen but for things that cannot be seen. For things that can be seen are temporary, but things that cannot be seen are eternal.

Can you do something on John 14:23-31 particularly verse 31. If his yoke is really easy...how do we reconcile loving God when this is something humanly speaking that we always fall short of.

What John Piper is saying is that the narrow gate is hard to find because it only allows those who come to repentance
as you don't need one for the world.
When we go through this gate we will have an easy you yoke to be blessed with eternal life in God

  • @elgindor
    @elgindor 9 месяцев назад

Narrow gate is for sure Jesus. All the other options are the ways of the world. Narrow would be that gate and few would find it in all the deceptions and lies. I pray all people find it.

In addition to its literal meaning, the concept of a yoke also appears in many scriptures as a metaphor for bondage or servitude. What does it mean to take Christ's yoke upon us? To humbly do his will and allow him to guide and direct our lives. If HE SAID IT WAS LIGHT IT IS😃

  • @justusalmondwilliams9102

The reason Jesus can rightly claim his yoke is easy is because he has already entered the gate. He has an eternal mindset and is able to look beyond his external circumstances. We don’t have an eternal mindset so the gate is difficult to find. When he returns, those that choose to believe him will enter by the gate. Those that don’t, won’t. The last chapter of our Word indicates some will enter in ways other than the gate. What people need to understand is that he is not going to return unblemished. Our Creator is Just and he plays no favorites when all is said and done. When Moses demonstrates the two signs, they represented the two comings. The first sign was the rod, which symbolizes Jesus. When it was thrown to the ground, it became a snake, representing death. Moses was a representation of the Almighty. When he ran from the snake it symbolized when Jesus was temporarily abandoned at the cross. Picking it up demonstrated him rising from the grave before ascending. The second sign was the leprous hand. This equates to the second coming. I believe that his second time around will model Paul’s life. Initially the hand was clean, so as a child, the second host will be pious. Leprosy always represents pride ( think Naaman). During the second coming he will be offered the world, but will take it and become leprous. When Moses put his hand back in it represented how the Almighty will sanctify his prototype back to perfection, which will give his siblings the confidence they need to overcome sin and conquer death.
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. - Revelation 22:14
To be clear, the man, Justin Almond Williams, isn’t intelligent enough to figure this kind of stuff out. It isn’t normal to wake up allof a sudden and for every single thing in scripture to make complete sense. I can take no credit for what I can now see. And what I see is indescribable. Something else is definitely at work. This is all I will say for now.

    His yoke is easy.
The "yoke" is all the messed up stuff the born-again believer has got to face in this world. Yes, Christ is going to be with me when I walk through those tough times in this world.
The "easy" is the redemption part. He's done it for me.
There's not just two ways in this world, wide & narrow. There are scores of wide ways & in this collage of "wide ways", to find this "narrow way" (Christ) is going to be tough. Only a few will find out. Those few would be the people who listened to the Holy Spirit (yeah, He's working even before Salvation, leading us to it).

If you have not Overcome your Pride..Lust..Greed..Anger and Worry. I guarantee things will Not be easy. Once you have overcome these sins better it gets easier..but then you still have to deal with other peoples Pride..Lust..Greed..Anger and Worry..So NO it is Not Easy. It does get some easier once you get yourself in Line Better! Jesus life was Not Easy and if you really Seek Him..yours won't be either. You will Learn Humility and there is nothing easy about that!

    • @loganfeller6737
      @loganfeller6737 4 года назад +3

The problem with what you just said is the basic premise..."if YOU have not overcome." The whole reason why Jesus came is because we CAN'T overcome. We cannot overcome sin, death, pride, fear, etc. But through faith in the one who can (Jesus Christ, the Son of God) and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit who conforms us to the image of Christ, then (and only then) are we able to be more than conquerers!

Faith is gratitude and humility where they should not exist. I get the feeling that you see faith as a belief system.
Perhaps if you were to tell us how the Holy Spirit transforms us then we might be willing to try out your theory.
At least say it differently...the way you said it is so cliche.

@@kathleenwharton2139 Who said anything about remaining in sin? Wasn't me. The whole idea of repentance is that you recognize the severity of son and you turn away from it.
You mentioned that you are glad that Jesus taught you his Gospel? Would you mind sharing where and how he did this? Could you please share the gospel message with us?

@@mr.c2485 that's an interesting view of faith, where did you get that? I would contend that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
I'm not going to answer you on anything because your argumentation always begs the question. You also like to throw out red herrings in pretty much every post you make. And as I've stated before, you only ever appeal to your own authority. That's just the first 3 logical fallacies I've seen you make as I scroll PJPs comment section.
You and Kathleen Wharton have made yourselves gods in your own imagine. You strain at gnats and swallow camels. You are pigs with the pearls of PJP placed before you and you are intent on trampling him and others in your unholy pursuits. You need to repent of your sin and believe in Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures as given by the apostles and prophets of old.
